Very professional, competent and nice. Am currently using his services for an additional improvement project necessitated by a burst pipe.

Mike and his team did outstanding work refinishing our basement. We had a very uneven floor, and the team he brought was able to level the floor and install tiles throughout - it looks excellent. He patched several holes in the drywall that had been made from a previous mold inspection - now you can't tell they were ever there. He primed and painted, and installed modern looking baseboards. We also had a spiral staircase that had carpet glued on before, so that adhesive was left on the steps when we pulled the the carpet off. Mike was able to remove the adhesive, and then sand and paint the steps, now they look like new. The whole team was courteous, punctual, reliable and the work is very high quality. Everyone who visits and saw the old basement is amazed at the difference. I recommend this company very highly. They do not cut corners and the outcomes are excellent.

Mike is a very dedicated and talented craftsman who clearly takes pride in the quality of work that he provides. We have used him and his team for many projects around our home. He is always on time, does excellent, quality work. He creatively comes up with solutions to problems that many have walked away from (we had an ongoing pest problem under out shutters and he came up with a solution!). He is respectful of our house, our children and our old dog. Honest, hardworking, trustworthy and skilled. Having a quality handyman in the area is a huge advantage when you live in an old home...

I thought I had written a review already but do not see it here Mike did a great job and was professional. I am in need of assistance again and Mike is the first person of thought of calling.

Mike and his team did an impeccable job! Once our old tile was removed we realized we had a larger problem than we thought, which took 2 extra days. Mike was able to rearrange his schedule so that he could get our shower working as soon as possible. We only have 1 bathroom so we really appreciated his sense of urgency. We also have a window in the shower and he was able to waterproof the edges of the window. The new tile looks great! It has been about 2 months since the work was done and we are still very happy we chose Mr. Fix It. We will definitely be using Mike for future projects.

It took a while to get Mr. Fixit to come to my home - but he replied promptly to keeping me informed about their start date. Each day they arrived on time, took appropriate action to limit the dust and dirt from the construction. They tackled each challenge with creativity and even did some repairs that were not expected such as a door that was filed down so it would close well. They did a wonderful job - time estimate was accurate and I will absolutely hire them again.

Wonderful! Timely, efficient, neat, intelligent and got the job done right! So many handymen do barely adequate jobs that make you go two steps forward and one step back. These are two nice men who work well, and do the job correctly. You have confidence in their workmanship. Finally!!

The only negative event was that he showed up two days late and did not contact me. His reasoning was that he did not look at his calendar, but relied on his memory. He checked his email and realized his mistake. He apologized and stated that he would do additional grout work that was not included in his estimate, at no extra charge. Subsequent appointments were punctual. All the work was done in a reasonable time which were two days. The grouting and grab bars installation was done neatly, producing an excellent finished product. The hardwood floor replacement fit and finish were done well. As the porch trim was being replaced, it was discovered that more wood replacements were necessary than were indicated in the estimate price. He replaced all of the affected boards at no additional charge. I would use him again and recommend him to others in need of such services.

This was a big project to renovate and prepare my condo to be put on the market. I didn't have an entire specific plan in mind or had chosen patterns when Mike started the work. He provided sound advice, both technical and stylistic. Throughout the project, Mike maintained good communication, patience and professionalism. He kept on schedule as best as he could, despite me adding requests toward the end. The results were flawless. I would definitely call him for future carpentry needs.

It took a little while to get an appointment with Mr. Fixit but when the agreed upon day came, they arrived right on time. They did a thorough job and were able to replace the tile with no damage to the adjacent cabinet They not only grouted around the replaced tiles, they also did some grout repair in that general area. They had all of the tools needed to replace the marble doorsill and did a much better job than the home contractor who had originally done it. I have some other work to be done in my house and was considering having it done by another contractor, but after discussing it with Mr. Fixit and getting his ideas, I'm going to continue to use them in the future Great find! I'm very pleased.

THE JOB WENT VERY WELL ..MIKE TRIED TO PLEASE ME AT ALL TIMES BY MAKING ADJUSTMENT & GIVING ME HIS PROFESSIONAL ADVICE...ALSO IF HE WAS GOING TO BE LATE ALWAYS CALLED &IF HE KNEW THE DAY BEFORE ETC HE WOULD CALL THEN.......HE HAS DONE OTHER JOBS FOR ME IN THE PAST & I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASED.

Mike did a terrific job. The deck looks as if it were installed yesterday. This is a very large multi tiered deck that looked terrible and I was not certain could be repaired. Last year Mike painted and repaired the trim on the outside of my home and did an incredible job. At that time he recommended the solution for my deck. He came back this year and did exactly what he said he would do to repair the deck. He and those who he brings to work with him are professional and skilled at their jobs. I have asked Mike to do several things around my home and I don't think I would tackle and work around my home in the future without calling him first. He is honest, smart and fair when performing all household repairs. I highly recommend him for anything that needs to be completed.

The job went really well. I would highly recommend Mike. He stopped the leak and also was about to regrout and seal an old shower without breaking the tiles. He used special equipment and took his time, doing the job right. He also has enough experience to be able to see where previous attempts at repair were done wrong or sloppily. Mike also was able to take down and put back drywall and he is currently re-tiling and sealing a second shower in our home which was also poorly constructed. He gives good service and fair prices. Most importantly you will get your job done right the first time for a long term solution. A+++ highly recommended and very experienced contractor, you can't go wrong!

Mike Karatekin from Mr. Fix-It NJ did a fantastic job on the soffit on the 2nd story of our home. It had been repaired by others several times in the past but Mike's repair fixed it once and for all. He provided a written estimated and kept all of his appointments. His price was fair and he cleaned up afterwards. You can?t go wrong with Mr. Fix-It NJ !!! Highly recommended!!!

The work went very well. "Mr. Fix It" showed up on time for our estimate. I pointed out the few repairs we needed done before winter. He also checked the entire outside of our house and made note of some repairs we should do in the spring. All the work was completed within a week of getting the estimate. He emailed us the day before showing up to do the work. He then sent pictures of all the work he had done and explained what was done. He also noticed a few issues on our roof and went up to inspect it for us. He then sent us pictures of the problems he found that needed to be repaired. Unfortunately he doesn't do roof repair, but if he did we would definitely use "Mr Fix It NJ" for that. Over all He was very professional and very knowledgeable.

I am wiritng this review reluctantly because I don't want too many people to find out about Mr Fix It NJ ( I would like to keep him for myself) After initial message, Mike was at my house to look over the items the next day- very impressive already. He provided an estimate promptly and had all the work done within a two week period from the date we first met. Mike had "work arounds" and money saving suggestions and was fair and professional throughout. I have already hired him again for the next project. Clean, quick and truly a handy man! Thanks Mike

He was punctual, quick, and well priced.

Mike did an excellent job on all of the services that he performed. He is both a good carpenter and painter, which is difficult to find in one person. He and his crew did a very professional job of repairing and painting all of the exterior trim. They were very neat and cleaned up the work area after completing the job. I have had this same work completed by others in the past, however, I think this is the best it has ever been done. I have a 40 year old home and it now looks terrific. They were even able to match the exterior siding color and repair areas that were previously damaged. It was a pleasure to have them working at my home. I will definitely hire Mike again.

There were several repairs needed around my apartment, so I decided to join Angie's List on July 20th. After searching through the list of Handy Man profiles, I came across Mr. Fix It. I decided to email Mr. Fix it because the reviews were positive and they stated Mr. Fit It “could fix it anything”. Within minutes of sending my first email, Mike respond within minutes to ask what needed to be repaired. After a couple of emails back and forth we schedule a date and time for him evaluate the work needed. On July 23rd Mike arrived on time to my apartment to provide me with an estimate on the work needed. On Friday, July 25 the work was completed in less than an hour. I would definitely use Mike again on home projects because he is a true professional….His follow up skills are superior, through and efficient. Mike confirmed both appointments via email and with a follow up phone call. The best thing about doing business with Mike is, he has a great personality and his prices are fair …. Best decision I ever made was to have Mr. Fixit handle these repairs. The responsiveness to my request and time to get the estimate took only a couple of days. Then scheduling happened right away and the work product is first rate. The team showed up when they said they would, they were very professional with the work product, courteous in their demeanor and cleaned up everything afterward. They even took care of the little extra things to go above and beyond without me having to ask them; which I have never experienced with other contractors. I asked them to do extra work "while they were here" and they handled it with no problem. They even arranged a plumber at a moments notice to fix a pipe before they replace drywall. I would definitely use them again, and I definitely recommend them.

Two days after I emailed, Mike came and fixed our garage door. Was not an easy fix as one of the springs had apparently been off for quite some time with a wire on it that was nearly completely rusted. With this equipment and the tools he had on him Mike was able to totally fix in under two hours. While there we got some estimates from Mike on other work and found his estimate to install a Chimney Cap to be very reasonable. He ordered the custom cap (dual) and installed about three weeks later. We had been told by a chimney company a few months earlier that our chimney and flue would require significant repair. Mike looked it over and told us that was absolutely not true, and that all we should get is a chimney cap. We really really appreciated his honesty. Mike was consistently very responsive throughout the process and we would certainly use him again. Chimney Cap - $476, Garage Door Repair - $80

Mike is great! He is very responsive and the work he performed is of great quality. He cleans up after himself and is very professional. We plan to use him for many more projects in the future.
