Had a problem with a toilet draining slower and slower throughout the week. I was hoping it would've unclogged by itself but it seem to just get worse. Called up MarGo and they were able to get someone out here on the same day I called within a few hours (they are great for handling emergency services). I also had them diagnose a garbage disposal issue while they were here which they informed me was dead and I needed a new one. Mike was the serviceman who came and was very professional in presenting me with options and costs of routes he could go but was sure to present me with all the options before making any big money decisions. All in all I'd definitely use them again in emergencies although I thought they were perhaps a bit pricey but they are a 24/7 3-man on call service company so I'll cut them slack there for emergencies.

They are just amazing. They are pretty expensive. They were competent and reliable. They were nice to deal with. I can’t praise them enough. They come immediately. When I call them for an emergency, the guy was here in about 20 minutes. I couldn’t believe it. I’m very happy with them. I wouldn’t use anybody else. I called them about water dripping through my kitchen ceiling and they practically took the bathroom apart and checked everything .Their worker said he didn’t see anything leaking and don’t know what that was. He told me to let him know if it gets worse and he didn’t charge me anything which is quite amazing because he spent a couple of hours here to try to find the leak. I think the prices are medium high. It’s expensive but as far as I’m concerned, if you have somebody that’s totally reliable, very good at what they do and pleasant to deal with then it’s worth the money.

I used them on two separate occasions within the last two weeks. The first was the motor on the heating system needed to be replaced ($750) - Great job hassle free. The second was last night my tenant didn?t leave the heat on down stairs so the pipes froze. They came and warmed ($395) them up and all is good. Great job again. This means allot to me since I am currently deployed in Afghanistan and don?t have the resources to deal with the back and forth. Just need the receipts for both jobs and its perfect. They will be my "Go to", for all my plumbing needs. Customer Service means alot to me.

Showed up almost immediately after confirming the appointment. Very cordial. Immediately put on slippers so he didn't damage the floor or get the house dirty. He provided the initial consultation for free. He went above and beyond, and pointed out a lot of things that would be helpful in the future. He found a vent that was opening to nowhere, sending all my heat to the attic and helped me temporarily seal it. He was constantly thinking about the customer, and I really appreciated that. His attitude was great, and he was very patient. He taught me how to change the filter on my furnace, and told me where I could get them in the future. He gave me a lot of helpful information. I was very pleased.

They examined the situation, recommended two choices at different price points. Gave me a written copy of their analysis. Unlike two other vendors, their rec included all fittings, hoses, etc in the first estimate. Top notch in every way.

Never had a chance to find out, they said they do not serve the town I reside in (Irvington, NJ).

They were on time and stayed 3 hours. Very polite and professional, but I never imagined it would cost $1750. no itemized break down of costs. He said he did the toilet for free. So that made it seem even more expensive. But I really have nothing to gauge the cost by... but the workmanship was good.

I had purchased a new dishwasher but when the appliance delivery person came, he notice the water line would not allow my new dishwasher to be pushed back all the way so it had to be relocated. I called Margo on a Saturday and they were willing to come out by Monday but I scheduled a Tuesday. Jesse from Margo called me to let me know when he would be coming. He was on time. He went over the entire job with me in detail and recommended I also have my kitchen sink drain pipe replaced because it was corroding. He wrote up the estimate and I ok'd the work. It took almost 3 hours to complete everything. He was clean and thorough. He installed the dishwasher per manufacturer spec which even included the installation of the electrical box inside the cabinet. He tested the dishwasher by running 3 separate cycles and tested the kitchen sink for any leaks. Everything worked out perfect. I will say they are on the pricey side but if I can someone here on time and do a good job, it may be worth the extra money.

I called MarGo Plumbing to clean and balance my radiators, and they were one of three companies reviewed and called. Jesse D came and completed the job on the same day, which no one has ever offered me before. He was completely professional, very knowledgeable, and patient to explain things to me. He offered three different levels and prices of service to the boiler system, recommended the middle option, and didn't up-sell me to something I didn't need. He was honest, trustworthy, and meticulous about his work. He also took the time to evaluate the full plumbing system and offer suggestions on things that should be addressed. Overall, one of my best contractor experiences across the board.

Toilets - from start to finish, the staff and service men were friendly and very accommodating. I purchased my own toilets and they came and inspected the delivery. Very nice folks and did a great job. Disposal - same friendly service. Fast and great job.

I noticed a leak in our laundry room sink on Saturday and, after utilizing Angie's List, decided to call MarGo Plumbing. The plumber arrived on time, explained everything that needed to be done (remove a 1 1/4" trap and replace with a 1 1/2" trap), and what the costs were going to be before work started.

it was little on pricey side but the work product was terrific. The service was the best and the plumber was exceptional.

Came on time. Placed drop cloths through entire route to water heater. Work was done quickly and neatly. Very happy with job. Price was a little high but worth it for quality of work performed.

They have been as good as good gets. I can not think of calling any other plumbing company to address issues that I might have in my home. I have heard the very same compliments from a number of my neighbors who have had past dealings with Margo.

This is the second time I've used Margo, based on reviews from Angie's List. On both occasions, they were timely, professional and reasonable in prices for the services provided. Initially, it was felt the toilet was old and the drain spout was clogged necessitating a new toilet (after being shown the base of the old toilet, I agreed). After installation, flush was better, but not what was expected. The technician, Jesse D. , removed the new toilet and snaked the drain, which again helped, but the results did not meet his expectations. The owner came with a larger snake and he and Jesse performed a main drain pipe clean out which solved the problem. As the main drain pipe snaking was not included in the initial quote, I was not charged for the service. The job took about three hours longer than expected, however they did not leave until it was done correctly and everything was cleaned up. I would use them again for any plumbing issue and will refer them to my friends and family without hesitation. It's good to see people taking pride in their work.

Joe at MarGo replaced our AC for us a few weeks ago. He was completely professional, his price was fair and he even came to check to make sure the unit was working a few weeks later. This is the 2nd time we've used MarGo and I'm sure we'll be calling them again in the future.

This is the 2nd time using Angie's List. The 1st time, another vendor referred me to a contractor that wasn't listed on Angie's List & although the job got done, it took a lot longer than it should have even though the cost was reasonable. I called MarGo Plumbing on Monday evening at 7:13 pm to clear up an issue that a tenant was having with their bathtub. When the 2nd floor took a shower, black gunk came out of the 1st floor's tub faucet. After leaving a message with a receptionist, Joe called me back and said that he could refer someone in Bloomfield, NJ. I declined & told him that I don't mind if someone came out the following day. He said that someone would call by 9 am. Joe also explained that they normally don't like to deal with tenants preferring to talk directly to the owner or landlord of properties. I assured him that he was talking to the right person & that I would make sure that the tenants were available on Tuesday morning. The next morning, I missed a call at 8am while I was getting my coffee. After a return call to MarGo Plumbing & talking with Lynette, I received a call at 8.53am from Jesse D. who was already at the site. Jesse was very knowledgeable, courteous & pleasant to talk to. He explained everything that he did & made me aware of some preexisting conditions. There was a crack in the sink & he didn't want to get blamed for it since he was going to be using a heavy duty snaking machine. I'm not sure I would have noticed the crack but it was good that he pointed it out. Jesse said that he had been blamed for things that he didn't do in the past & just wanted confirmation that before he started any work, that he wasn't the cause of the slight cosmetic damage to the sink. The whole job took about 2 hours. Jesse used the smaller snaking machine on the tub drain, the sink drain, & the sink drain from the opposite direction from the basement. There was a concern that when he was snaking from the reverse direction that no water trickled down so we checked the drains in the bathroom to be absolutely sure that the water was flowing freely. Jesse asked me to follow him so that I could confirm his observation that there were no leakage or damaged pipes in the bathroom or underneath the floor. Satisfied that the pipes were unclogged, he cleaned up the mess that he made as a result of the job. Jesse explained before the job started the potential consequences of using the snaking machine & the cost of repairing any damages that may occur. When asked if he would rather hang out his own shingle & strike out on his own, Jesse said that he worked as an employee of MarGo Plumbing for 13 years & was happy working for them. He said that he liked the way that MarGo treated their employees & their customers. Although it would be nice if he had a chance to take a lunch break, it's good that he's working & gets paid for a 40 hour work week w/ benefits & health insurance even when it's slow. I've never met a contractor who was happy w/ his boss until I met Jesse. Everything was explained & when I had no questions, Jesse asked if I understood what he was explaining. Although he said he wasn't soliciting for additional business, he did point out that my boiler was more than 10 years old so I asked him for a ballpark quote which he provided me with & explained how to read information on the boiler. When I asked him about tank less boilers he wouldn't recommend them since it had to be flushed every 6 months & there were too many issues with them in addition to being 2-3 times more expensive than a regular boiler. A higher rated 50 gal. btu boiler was his recommendation & the ballpark was about $1400 installed. Additional pipe valve replacement would be another $200 or so with a 6 year warranty. He could take $100 off for a total of a 1 year warranty, or for a 10 year warranty, it would be another $400. I'm not sure if the prices are normal with this kind of job but if we do replace the boiler, there's a very good chance that I will call Jesse & MarGo Plumbing again to do the work. The total cost for the visit, minus a $25 coupon came to $230.05 w/ NJ Tax. The cost seems high but I think the whole process & service was worth it & it's a bonus that they accept credit cards especially American Express as a payment option. I would definitely call Jesse D & MarGo Plumbing again for future business! (A slightly less detailed review for this visit was placed on Yelp.com)

We are frequent customers of MarGo and are very happy to use them whenever we have a problem. Over the weekend, our kitchen sink was clogged and caused the trap to leak. Plunging wouldn't solve the problem and the block was pretty far down. I called MarGo on Sunday and was promptly called back. They were able to schedule Mike for first thing Monday morning. I requested that so that I wouldn't have to pay a weekend rate. Mike came on time, quickly diagnosed the problem and presented me with 3 options for solving it. He offered to try to snake the pipes even though he suspected it wouldn't resolve the clog because the pipes were the original galvanized steel pipes that came with the house. He told me if he couldn't clear the block he wouldn't charge me for the time spent trying to snake them. In the end, Mike had to remove all of the old galvanized drain pipe from the kitchen to the main sewer drain and replaced it with PVC pipe. He did a great job. Explained each step to me as he was doing it and cleaned up meticulously before he left. Although it was an unexpected expense, I am grateful it wasn't more and also, as always, incredibly pleased with the level of service and skill provided.

We had quite a sudden large leak that we needed to both determine a root cause for and fix. Both Jesse and Mike arrived promptly, assessed the situation, and made a quick fix. They also provided me with some options for a long-term fix with a corresponding estimate. Throughout it all, both were extraordinarily professional - communicating clearly at every step. They were clean, wearing shoe covers, and cleaning up any debris. They took the time out to explain in detail everything they found and showing me the fixes they put in place. I would certainly call them again for any future plumbing needs.

The first time I used Margo Plumbing was a for a busted pipe from the sink kitchen. I called early Saturday morning and got a call back from Joe, the owner within a half hour. He was able to come about an hour later. Thankfully it was not leaking and I could wait. He removed the broken pipe and replaced with a new one. He was quick, professional, and freindly. Everything went great. The second time I used Margo was for a clogged bathroom sink. Jesse came out and he was great. Very nice, and patient with me through my million questions, helping to teach me along the way. He was able to snake out the drain and was good in explaining everything he was doing, and what I could do in the future. While their prices are definitely high, I would definitely recommend them.

Mike was professional, prompt, and friendly and the job was done quickly and well. However, the cost was remarkably high.

Went perfect. If you want a job done right, quickly and professionally, this is the company for you. Jesse D. and Mike, the plumbers, and their customer service person are the best.

We called Mar Go Plumbing because we had a leak in our shower that was dripping onto our living room ceiling. They came within a few hours. Jesse, their Service Specialist, was very knowledgeable and courteous. He identified the problem and explained how it would be fixed. He finished the job in a few hours and cleaned up any mess he had made in the bathroom. The cost was reasonable and I will call them again if needed.

We called for an estimate on repairs to the front spigot and a new on/off knob for the backyard spigot - the outdoor spigot needed repairs (due to constant water dripping) in front of the house, as well as a new on/off knob inside for the backyard spigot. MarGo sent someone the same day that we called and not only replaced the front spigot, but repaired the indoor water shutoff for that spigot (as well as doing minor maintenance on the pipes). He replaced the on/off knob for the backyard spigot AND replaced the old spigot with a new one (free of charge)! Everything went smoothly and Mike B was very efficient in getting the job done. He had everything fixed and ready to go within two hours! What we found really impressive was the replacement of the backyard spigot...even though it didn't need to be replaced, he told us he did it because we were easy to deal with and very good customers! Would HIGHLY recommend MarGo for plumbing repairs!

It went great. I am considering asking him back to install a RO drinking water tap on my sink. This company is not the least expensive but they come with a large truck packed with everything you could need and they carry high quality parts.
