Description of Work: Erik has worked on my computers now for over 5 years. The current computer I am writing this review on was custom made by Erik. I rely on him to keep it running smoothly. He is always prompt to respond to my concerns.

Description of Work: Erik maintains my "new" computer that he built for me in 2016. I LOVE my new computer. He recommended that I get one after having my old Dell desktop for over 10 years, which he had worked on as well in the past. He comes by every 90 days to give me the updates that I need and to get rid of the junk I don't.

Description of Work: A phone conversation with a tech was appalling. He criticized Geek Squad, Facebook and Verizon; he even said he didn't like Angie! He told me he didn't have a car and expected me to pick him up at a local train station. Also, payment was expected in cash. I am very disappointed that Angie' List would endorse Computers by Erik.

Description of Work: He comes by every 90 days to maintain my Dell computer. He updates all of my software and cleans up the internet junk.

Description of Work: Revived a badly abused hard drive

Description of Work: On virtually no notice, Eric took the long trip to get to my home in Malvern from downtown and stayed way late to get a rather intricate computer system set up, then stayed extra time to help me in setting up my TV system, which I had not even asked about when I asked for his help. This involved some heavy lifting (literally). He really knows his stuff and goes out of his way to help. He has definite ideas about things, but has good reasons for those ideas. Everything has been in perfect working order since that time and I am still amazed that he was willing to come out so quickly and get us into business.

Description of Work: My computer was driving me nuts. I wanted to throw it out a window. Soooo slow. Everything took forever. It would freeze several times a day (at least) and need to be turned off each time and rebooted. Erik switched it from XP Pro to Business Vista, added an extra storage drive, got rid of a zillion Windows Updates which I'd been dutifully downloading and which he said were toxic--which at first blush sounded crazy--but it's so, SO much faster now.

Description of Work: I have a 4-month contract with him - he updates everything.

Description of Work: Erik comes by quarterly to keep my now fast running computer maintained! He installs all updates and new versions of software and deletes useless files and programs.

Description of Work: Erik did work for me in the past and offered me a quarterly maintenance package. I took him up on his offer and he visited me today and cleaned up my pc. I am good for another 3 months. This service is a good idea because it keeps me up to date on security updates and overall computer health.

Description of Work: A trojan horse appeared on one of my computers, Erik, not only resolved that issue, but totally cleaned up the entire hard drive, added more memory, and then cleaned my other computer. Now everything workd fine.

Description of Work: Erik came back to install our RAM, which I couldn't figure out. After discussions, we bought a custom system at a discounted rate by using the RAM we had purchased for our other computer. We also kept our our old hard drive and have made it the storage drive. With the new BIOS, we should no longer have to wait for an eternity for the system to boot up. We also discussed, and I am acquiring, an external hard drive for all the pictures and music I keep on my desktop and laptop.

Description of Work: I called Erik on a Sunday to take a look at a my computer as it was running very slow. He came over that very same Sunday and fixed the computer. I was so impressed with him I got to talking about getting a new computer and he quickly put together a great computer for me at half the cost of what it would have cost from Dell (for comparable model). I highly recommend Erik to anyone that needs computer repair or is looking for a new computer.

Description of Work: Erik replaced our hard drive which had died. He completely rebuilt our system. I couldn't believe how much work went into it. The price was definitely fair for the work he did. I will call him again.

Description of Work: Restored audio on two PS. Installed total maintenance package for hard drives. Gave easy to follow instrutions for ongoing maintenance.

Description of Work: Cleaned up my computer, diagnosed and installed a new DVD drive.

Description of Work: I was having difficulty downloading audiobooks, and needed to add service pack 2 to my Windows operating system. It turned out I needed to reinstall the operating system in my computer. Erik took care of all these operations.

Description of Work: I was totally pleased with both the service Eric provided, his expertise which showed from the start and as well as his going the extra mile to help me being the computer challenged individual I am with how to keep my system running well and maintaining it. I had a problem with the disk drawer that he replaced as well as the debug errors that were driving me crazy. He also left me with some notes as to maintenance which I thought was so helpful and very professional. He seemed to not want to leave without me knowing at least the basics on some things that trip me up. He gave it a thorough cleaning out of all the unnecessary junk slowing my computer down as well and it's working faster than I've ever seen.

Description of Work: My laptop was running slow. Erik "cleaned"it up, installed additional memory and several programs that will allow me to do follow-up maintenance.

Description of Work: Came to my home to assess my system configuration and trouble shoot network problems. Was able to resolve these problems, in addition to adding a wireless router which itself required reconfiguration. One laptop was quite old (for a computer) and he did extensive updating to it. On completion, I had internet connectivity on 2 laptops which previously were useless for this purpose. Took the newer laptop to his shop, re-segmented the hard drive, removed Windows that had been ruined by a virus, re-installed it and added more memory. He was able to save all of my data, including all music, photos and documents, and replaced them on Windows, as well as re-loading Microsoft Office. He then brought the laptop back to my home, the next morning, and set up the network. One thing that helped is that I had rescue disk for Windows as well as for Office.
