I am the owner and craftsman of tony le contracting llc. I answer all phone calls and show up to all estimates personally. Subcontractors are used for licensed trades. I accept cash, check, paypal and credit cards.
I had contacted Tony based upon Angie's List ratings and recommendations. I had wallboard that was damaged due to the removal of some paneling. Tony did not take advantage of my need to get the job done nor my ignorance on available options. The job was done without incident and the repairs were done to the extent one would not even know the damage existed. We also had crown and baseboard molding recently installed and Tony caulked and painted all around and it looks wonderful! We have called him back to do some other work and would definately keep him in mind going forward. I would also recommend him to others.

After contacting 'Tony' on the phone and listening to him tell me how busy he was with all the work he had, he reluctantly agreed to come to my home to give me an estimate. We set an appointment for 5:00-5:30 on the following Saturday. After changing my schedule Saturday came, and went, but Tony didn't. No call, no reschedule and most annoying, no Tony. Cannot understand how he considers himself a 'professional'. Hope you continue to have plenty of work after all the 'Sandy' rebuilding is done Tony, but you won't be getting any from me. I wouldn't deal with this clown again if he wanted to work for free.

My sincere apologies [removed member name]. I understand your time is very important and completely understand your frustration. It was completely 100% my fault. I honestly just let it slip my mind. It is not the first time it has happened and will probably not be the last. I am aware I am not the best administrative assistant to myself. It is some times overwhelming to do all the work plus keep track of my appointments. Again, I apologize for missing out appt.

Tony was meticulous and neat in his work. Several walls and doorframes were damaged and had to be prepped/repaired prior to being painted. I am very, very pleased with the work. I never had to worry about coming home to a mess and never had to worry that the work would not be done well. He is patient and based on our discussion of the work I always felt confident that I could trust his judgement. He is a creative guy and I liked being able to discuss solutions. I felt his pricing was very reasonable and I felt very comfortable that he was being honest about cost and pricing. He told me that since I picked a color that was close to the current one, that would save me some money.
Description of Work: Tony painted finished basement, kitchen, living room, dining room, foyer, and all hallways. I have two story foyer and skylight in stairwell so these added a degree of difficulty. He also did handyman work and came up with creative solutions. For example, in the finished basement he replaced the framed access panels with flat panels which he painted to match the walls. These are easily removed by pushing on them. (I was very pleased and the other contractor that came in to do an estimate did not have any solution for this). He also was so very patient and helpful with the color selection for the kitchen. He did several swatches and even suggested some colors. FInally, he hung a heavy mirror and several paintings and had creative solution for my wobble umbrella stand.

It could not have gone better. Tony was patient to say the least, the original colors that were chosen were not a good match. They were replaced several times, until the ones we found were best suited. Tony did the work, like he was painting his own Home. We can't praise him enough and will definitly recommend him to friends and plan to hire him again.

I called Tony for an estimate, and because we could not find a convenient date for him to come by he just asked me to tell him what needed doing exactly and based on my description he gave me a price, which by the way was a very good one. Tony was incredibly professional, helpful, honest and hardworking. He kept in contact as the date of service neared, then showed up exactly when he said he would, did a fantastic job, and left the place spotless. He was so good about answering questions, and took no advantage of the "unhandy" - he did not do unnecessary work just so he could charge for it. Instead he was helpful and pointed things out and shared a lot of useful information. I CANNOT wait to use him again!

Tony came for the estimate on time and then provided a written quote via e-mail within 24 hours. We had a specific timeframe we needed the work done in and Tony was able to accommodate us. He arrived at the time and the day he said he would and did an excellent job repairing and painting the walls. His work is extremely neat and he is very professional. Each night before he left, his supplies were cleaned and neatly placed in one corner of a room. Some of the walls needed extensive repair and without actually rebuilding them (which was not part of the scope of he work we asked for) Tony made them look 100 times better than they did.

I had just purchased my own condo and truly wanted to make it my own. Tony visited my home personally, and after listening to all my wishes and concerns, he conducted a professional and thorough assessment of the space. As someone who does not know much if anything about contracting and labor, he was patient and kind and willing to do some teaching along the way. He made suggestions and had conversations regarding choices to perfect cohesion from room to room. He even suggested ways to save money on cost and labor, which I found to be a truly genuine and honest gesture. Tony was punctual, responsible and left the condo spotless after each day's work. He is extremely personable while remaining the consummate professional in every regard. I have complete trust in him and his company and will not hesitate to utilize his stellar services in the futures
Description of Work: Picked up all supplies and material for the project and removed subsequent trash. Provided all paint samples. Painted interior of the entire condo (walls and ceilings of living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, closets. Painted baseboards, crown molding. Installed and wired of all new light fixtures, ceiling fans, handles, doorknobs, etc. Installed security locks and measures. Mended odds and ends throughout the condo, such as loose hinges on existing kitchen cabinets. Picked up and installed bathroom vanity and mirror. Mended bathroom tile work. Installed window treatments. Widened closet doorway to fit stackable washer and dryer. Contacted and set up plumber and specialist to install washer and dryer. He did come and look at the house. He said that he would give a written estimate that I can provide to my insurance company. He promised it the following week. I didn’t receive the estimate in the time frame promised and when called, he advised that he would send it out shortly. Instead, he emailed that he wouldn’t be able to get to the work until mid-February and “good luck” with my project. I feel that this was a brush off. I advised that February would be fine, so I guess I will have to wait and see what his response is to that. My grades on Tony could change depending on if there is a response to my email stating that February would work for me.

We had just purchased a single-family home in Asbury Park on September 20. In addition to getting our new house ready to move into, we needed to get our condo cleaned and painted in preparation for a new tenant that was moving in at the beginning of October. We had contracted Tony Le to prep and paint our house, but we were planning on painting the condo ourselves to save a few bucks. However, the fact that Tony Le gave us such a reasonable quote on our house...and was doing such an outstanding job there, we decided to approach him and see if he'd being willing to take on the last-minute job of painting our condo. While we were somewhat flexible and could work around Tony's schedule....he informed us that he had other jobs booked after ours and he only had one day available....the day after he was scheduled to wrap up the job at our house. That one day, however...Tony informed us...was his only off-day and he planned to go fishing, as it was his last chance to go fishing before the season ended. But he said he would take a look at the condo...which was a living room, bathroom, bedroom and kitchen....and needed some dark walls primed before it could be returned to the original white. After a quick look...Tony said that he would do the job for $700. Since that quote was half of what other painters had quoted...and we were so pleased with his work at our house, we agreed and Tony tackled the project with ease and efficiency. Tony is great. I'd recommend him to anyone. In fact, my parents, who spent a ton on a renovation that included a ton of paint...were so impressed with the quality of work that we had done....asked for Tony's number and said that they would contact him the next time they needed some painting done.

We closed on a 100-year old, three story home in Asbury Park on September 20th and needed to get the interior painted before we moved in. However, since we needed to be out of our previous residence prior to October 1, we needed to choose colors, get quotes, and start/finish work in just over a week. We contacted several service providers and got several quotes, but Tony was the most responsive, flexible, and affordable. After meeting with him on a Monday, giving him a tour of the house, and chatting with him...he gave us his quote about 24 hours after our first meeting. Once we got Tony's quote, it was a no-brainer. Not only did we get a really great feeling about him, his quote came in at almost half the cost of other reputable painters and Angie's List-rated providers. Tony met with my wife at our house on Wednesday to go over paint samples and select colors. We had actually given him a few Behr colors that we liked...but he recommended that we switch to Benjamin Moore as the overall paint quality would lead to a better result. (Despite the change in paint...he did not change his quote and honored his original price.) After we chose our paint, Tony got to work right away. Tony works alone in a timely and efficient manner. His prep work (tape, spackel, and papering) was done with great care and attention to detail...and his paint work was really clean and precise. Since we were on a tight turn around...and Tony supplied the first quote we received...I had told subsequent contracts that we weren't trying to squeeze them, but we already had a quote in the books and we were leaning toward that painter (Tony). Without fail the other contractors told us to be "careful" and remember that you often "get what you pay for" when it comes to home improvement. But Tony's affordable prices have nothing to do with the quality of his work...which is superior. The fact that he works alone and is fast and efficient must contribute to his low prices as I imagine that he is able to keep his overhead and expenses down. He doesn't pay a large crew, doesn't use day laborers, and he tackles the job with a sense of purpose. In addition to being efficient...Tony is very professional and responsible. I'd certainly recommend his services to anyone looking for a painter.
Description of Work: Prepped and painted the interior of a three-story 1600-sq foot house in Asbury Park. Painted molding/trim, patched minor holes/blemishes, painted kitchen/living areas...including hallways, stairwells, room, and third-floor attic area.

We reached out to Tony to get an estimate for work including painting and some general handyman/contracting work. Tony very quickly came out to our home to give an estimate. He was patient and thorough inspecting the rooms and work to be done inspiring confidence immediately. In addition, we brought up some other potential projects that fell under the handyman/general contracting category to which he was very honest about his personal experience, capabilities and most importantly limitations, something that in my experience is rare. Due to the size of our spaces most jobs required Tony to be in our home for extended periods of time. Tony worked late and went well above and beyond to finish a room in a day where appropriate. Most importantly, I felt very comfortable trusting Tony in my home, and it turned out I was right to feel that way. I would confidently recommend him. Short Version: Tony was fantastic to work with. He was attentive, trustworthy, gave meaningful suggestions and most importantly did a fantastic high quality job.

We hired Tony Le to prep and paint our newly-finished third floor area, which included a bedroom, a study, and a livingroom, with three closets for storage. Tony was professional, punctual, courteous, and did a FANTASTIC job on our space! He spackled/sanded/prepped all of the walls, wiped them down, then used a wonderful self-priming paint (Benjamin Moore). He painted the tops, bottoms, sides, fronts, and backs of all of our doors (upon our request), and beautifully cut in the paint on the window frames/trims. He is a one-man company and we could not believe how great the place looked when he was finished five days later, perfectly on schedule and on budget. He even worked quietly (no radio playing and quietly going up and down the stairs) when my 2-year-old daughter was taking her nap one floor below him. We could not have been happier with this experience and we will definitely be hiring him again for any and ALL future projects. We have even already recommended him to our neighbors, with glowing praise. We have definitely found "our painter".

Never got the chance to let you k now.
Description of Work: I was excited when Tony came to view the project at hand and he seemed so nice and helpful and told us that we would have a quote via email that night. The next morning I checked the email and there was nothing. After three days of waiting for the quote I called Tony to make sure he had the right email address and he said he was busy coming home late and didnt get the chance. (well we do have phones still so he could have called but ok) He promised to have a quote to usby the next day. Once again we waited for about 4 days. Finally my husband called him and asked him what he thought and Tony wanted to know what we were doing to prep the place. My husband had told him several times already that he would remove the cabinets and Tony was to install and help us with backsplash and floor . We wanted to salvage as much of it as we could. Once again Tony said he would email the quote. Its been three days now and still no quote. First, Tony, if you were not interested just tell us, so many people are out of work let us know so we can call them and move on. Second so disappointed in your total lack of professionalism. You are a disappointment to your profession. I think Angie should take you off her list.

Response from Tony Le Contracting
Met with the members last week to discuss their project. The member explained they were renovating the kitchen and that he would be doing the prep work. All he needed from me was to remove the old cabinets and countertops(without damaging the backsplash). Install the new cabinets with crown and under cabinet moulding. Also discussed how to fix the backsplash since the stove was being moved. Floor was also going to need attention because the corner cabinet dimensions were changing. Work was to be done in about a months time when cabinets were to arrive. Told them it would likely take 2 days. One to remove the countertop and cabinets and one to install. I would email them that night with an estimate. I failed to email them that night. The very next day, the member called to make sure I had the right email. I informed him I did but didn't get a chance to come up with a figure and that I would get it to him that night. Again, I failed to email them. Completely my fault. The member called two days later to make sure I didn't send it to the wrong email. During that phone conversation I gave her an estimate. She was to discuss with the member and get back to me. As she stated, the member called 4 days later (April 4th) but not to ask me what I thought as stated. Instead he asked me if I could reduce my price. Said he didn't want to diminish my work but if I could help him out with the price. Asked me if that price was for one person or two. Said for two people for two days, seemed a little steep. Sorry but I do not hire day laborers. I only work with the best. This is why I asked again what he wanted me to do, not because I was confused but because I wanted to clarify what needed to be done and to see where we can cut costs. Told him I didn't think I could since I would have to pay to dispose of the old cabinets and he informed me he was keeping them. Said I would think about it. Two days after that conversation(April 6), I find their review. I call the member right away to discuss and he explained to me their side and that it was important to get things in writing. That they thought I wasn't interested and that they had to find an alternate contractor. Fair enough, my apologies for not sending those emails. I did drop the ball there. However, you did have my verbal estimate long before the cabinets would have arrived(April 26). If we agreed on price, we could have put it in writing in the form of a contract. Regardless, I do sincerely apologize. I genuinely believe all things happen for a reason and maybe we weren't meant to to business together. I will take this as a learning experience and make sure I keep up with my emails and phone calls. I wish you and your family all the best. Have a wonderful Holiday weekend.

Description of Work: Tony gave me a professional and knowledgeable estimate. The family room was knotty pine wood which I wanted painted. He sealed and primed every knot and there were many, then primed all the panels that has many grooves. No knots show through and the finish is beautiful. He also dismantled and removed a bookcase and took it away for me. His attention to detail included new socket covers and vents. After the new carpet is installed he will return to put in the baseboards. I am extremely impressed with his work ethic and friendly manner. I have hired him to do several other jobs in the near future. Thanks, Angie's List.
