Excellent. Bob was right on time and checked everything very thoroughly. My A/C unit is about 10 years old and has had a slow leak for the past 4-5 years. My former A/C vendor who sold me the unit was never able to fix it and only wanted to replace it. When the former vendor was out to do maintenance this year (under contract) they wanted more than twice what Bob charged just to recharge it. I told them to hold off and found Bob here on Angies list. I'll be using his services from now on and would highly recommend him. Very fair pricing, excellent and thorough service.

Excellent. Bob came out at first to check for a leak and recharge my A/C unit (approx 25 years old). He did everything he could to try and get it working but the compressor was shot. He spent time showing me everything about the unit and explained clearly why it wasn't working. He even showed me how to adjust the basement dampers in the vents which I didn't even know where there. He tried to save me some money but ultimately we had to go with a new compressor. He was very thorough, punctual, and affordable. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Bob came over the same day I called figured out what was wrong fixed it and tuned up the system. There's not many contractors out there that would come by the same day without you telling them it's an emergency and charging you for it. I would recommend R&L again and again.

From the start, Robert had beat out at least 3 other companies in price, but yet in my case I even got a bigger unit than others quoted. He was on time for eveything he promised, and he made good on the entire contract. He and his assistant stayed at my home for over 13 hours to complete the job to my honor my requests, and then returned the following day to put the "finishing touches" on his work. He went on to explain the workings of my new "nest" thermostat, and completed the warranty and rebate paperwork for me. I am permanently disabled, and having a HVAC contractor who exceeds your expectations carry a lot of weight in my book, and I would recommend him to anyone who has a need for heating/air-conditioning installs/service/maintenance needs.

My experience went very well. The staff was very professional and friendly while visiting. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable in his field. He worked hard to repair the furnace but was unsuccessful and suggested I purchase a new furnace. He was able to install the furnace himself within a day. The pricing was very reasonable and I was very pleased with the outcome of the service and would highly recommend this company to others.

R & L Mechanical could not have been more professional, helpful, prompt and affordable. M&L not only fixed the problem with the furnace which is the reason I initially called them, but they also detected a gas leak from the clothes dryer. When the new dryer was delivered I also had them replace the gas valve at the wall because the old one was corroded.

I contacted Robert a week or so ago to replace an old furnace humidifier. We arranged a time for him to come to look to see what needed to be done. Robert and Paul came at the arranged time, and they assessed the situation. Robert gave me a verbal estimate of the work, and I agreed to have the work done. Upon leaving, Robert explained that he would contact me via email regarding the exact price, and we could then set up a time he could come back and do the work. Several days later he was able to give me a more accurate price (which was pretty close to his original estimate) via email, and we set up a time for him to return and do the work. Robert and Paul arrived as planned, and proceeded to replace the humidifier. After completing the work, Robert went over what he had done, and what I needed to do to maintain the humidifier. All in all, I am very pleased with how this transaction went. Both men are knowledgable, professional, and friendly. I am planning on hiring them again in the Spring to fix a mini split air conditioner that needs work at my summer cottage.

Bob and Paul did an outstanding job from start to finish. We woke up to find our AC unit was busted. Made the call after reading reviews and by lunchtime everything was fixed. This company communicates real well both on the phone and in person. The service was excellent as Bob and Paul are polite, efficient, and knowledgeable. We had a couple of extra questions for them about other areas of our house and they made the extra effort to check some things out. They did not have to do that. Most other people we used are in a rush to get in and out. Bob and Paul genuinely care about providing excellent service to their customers and they do it through actions, not just words. They did a great job. We were concerned at first that we would be without AC during that hot month at the shore. They responded quickly to my request to inspect existing AC and Heating system. They followed up quickly and promptly and put us at ease right away. Both my wife and I recommend them highly. They will be back in September or October to make sure the heating system works as well. The price he charged was quite reasonable and he worked out well. He was punctual, nice, clean and left no mess.

I first contacted R&L when a different company came to inspect my furnace. They told me it was leaking and would cost approx. $3500 to replace/repair. I then contacted R&L who came in, did there own inspection, removed and replaced the old furnace for a lot less. Next up was my A/C units. I hadn't used them since I purchased the house 7 years ago. One was missing the fuse connect and the other had zero Freon. They replaced the fuse connect box completely, charged it with Freon and my central air was back on for the first time. They did not try to sell me any new equipment nor beat around the bush with the other unit which needs to be replaced. They took the time to measure the main floor of my house and recommended a downsize in the unit that needs to be replaced. Who else does that? Nobody. All in all I will continue to use them until I move out of their service area and even then, I would pay extra for them to do any services needed. Great people, great prices, extremely honest...........

I had a new a/c installed by another company. Not long after, I noticed a leak in the garage. Thinking it was a water heater leak, I called a plumber. Upon investigation he told me it was the a/c and to call the HVAC company. I called the installer and he came and told me it was fixed. The leak got worse and I called again. They came and supposedly fixed. The leak got worse, causing a lot of damage. I called R & L. They came that day (Sunday). They leveled the air handler and emergency pan, removed old drain piping system and installed new primary and secondary piping system. The problem was fixed - no more leaking. I would not hesitate to call them again. They did a great job. Were very professional and knowlegable. Thank you so much.

Friendly guy, explained what he was doing and why. Had to reschedule twice due to heavy workload but finally made it out here. Showed me my cost written on a legal pad and said I would get a receipt from the office mailed to me but I never did get it. He for sure knew what he was doing, I guess just the administrative part of the business needs a little help

I got him for Angie's List. I believe they had a coupon, for some kind of a free service. He just kind of came in and evaluated some issues that I was having concerns about. He really did not find anything to my concerns, so he did not charge me anything for just coming out and evaluate. I was satisfied with the service I got from them, because I actually thought that it was pretty impressive that he came out and evaluated. Basically, he gave me a free estimate and it was kind of like just an evaluation and there was nothing that he could find that was a problem that he would be able to correct. He knew what he was doing.

Everything went great with R & L as follows: They team from R & L, led by Bob, were prompt & very professional. The problem with my AC System was quickly diagnosed as a leak in the outside condenser. I was told the options for replacing the whole system (indoor coil, outside condenser, piping & electrical) versus only replacing the outdoor unit. I opted for replacing the whole system. R & L promptly sent me a quote which I accepted & we scheduled an appointment for the new installation. The team showed up promptly & began work. They had to move the whole furnace out to replace the inside coil & were hindered by spray foam & taping that was applied by the customer to fix leaks from the previous installation. Even though this added time & effort they were very professional & got the system removed, cleaned up, replaced the coil & re-installed the furnace. It was very hot the day the job was scheduled, but the guys from R & L took their time to replace the outside condenser, attach the piping & wiring. The system was charged, did not have any leaks, was turned out & everything worked great. One of the guy took a temperature probe & checked various vents around the home to make sure the expected temperature was being produced by the system. The actually stayed around for an extra 30 to 45 minutes to let the system "settle out" & ensured the Freon charge was correct. And they took cleaned everything up & took the parts of the old system with them when they left. Bob & the guys stopped by a few days later to re-check the system to ensure the Freon charge was correct, checked the air temperature again coming out of vents around the house & the system was operating properly. Bob & his team from R & L did an excellent job!

They were actually impeccable. Their work, professionalism and service were impeccable. They were here 5 minutes before the scheduled time that they had noted. They were very professional in terms of explaining what their findings were throughout the entire process. They explained what would be required to correct the problem and as far as the attempt to correct the problem, the electronic board that they had for some reason was malfunctioning, as opposed to ordering another one and having to wait for another week in this 100 degree weather, they actually got a truck and drove to the warehouse and got another board, came right back and corrected the problem. So to me that kind of service was impeccable. I will absolutely use them again in the future.
