After almost 1/2 hour, he found that my heating unit was not compatible with the new thermostat. He did not charge me for the work since he didn't do what I wanted. Not his fault but my furnace's fault.

It gives me great satisfaction to write this review. We had Bob install a new central air system and update our air flow. I must say that it was a comfort to know Bob himself was doing the installation. Larger outfits send out employees and the finished product is never seen by the company owners. Bobs knowledge of air conditioning systems is amazing. He answered my menacing questions in full detail. He did the job as it should be done and didn't take advantage of my ignorance. Once he started the job he worked daily till finished. The cost of the job was more than fair and I was completely satisfied. Equal to Bobs work ethics was his meticulous paperwork. All and all we found Bob to be honest, knowledgeable and fair and wouldn't hesitate to call him again

Robert does quality work at a fair price. Robert was very responsive to my initial request. He came out right away to provide me with a quote for the work and took the time to explain to me what needed to be done. He completed the installation in the time frame that we had discussed and was open to working around my scheduling restrictions.

He was great, professional, courteous. He should me everything that was wrong and then showed me how he was going to fix it. Very nice.

Bob was prompt in scheduling appointment for the next morning. Upon meeting him, he was friendly, polite, and professional. He was completely thorough with checking both A/C units - taking his time to diagnose. He walked my mother and I through every step of the way - explaining exactly what the issue was and how it needed to be resolved, as well as the most cost effective way of repair. He was completely honest, extremely knowledgeable, and competitively priced. He's owned his business for 20 years and it shows through the integrity of his work. He also gave us a copy of his certification of liability insurance. We would highly recommend Bob and will definitely use him in the future for ourselves, family, and friends. Great! Robert responded quickly to my Mom's call regarding her furnace blowing cool air instead of hot air. He checked it out thoroughly, diagnosed problem & repaired. Mom used Robert about 3 years ago to fix her A/C & he continues to give top notch service. He is knowledgeable, dependable, thorough & reasonable.

He gave me 3 lengthy quotations. These were 3 options on what he could do for me. The furnace was in the closet and was extremely noisy. He suggested that he could put the furnace in the attic, so I wouldn't hear the noise and to free up the closet. I spent the winter without a noisy furnace and a warm house. He gave me $50 off for being an Angie's List member.

All went well. Robert is a confident, knowledgeable and no-nonsense contractor. The installation went smoothly. I wish all contractors can be like him.

Excellent...was creative and took time to solve specialized problems of getting a special drain pan made....a man of integrity and his word... quiet not a flashy salesman personality....we jointly took a risk in finding the leak of freon, when our risk failed he felt bad and absorbed the cost himself even though I willingly took the risk and was willing to pay...and of course the bottom line, everything fixed and working well

Robert was extremely responsive and we were able to set up a time that same week for him to stop by. He arrived on time and was extremely thorough in diagnosing that we were low on freon and were missing a radiator caps. He was excellent to work with and we'd highly recommend him to anyone.

Excellent, Honest, Trustworthy, and Caring. He replaced my 89 year old mother-in-law's AC unit. Being remote from her, he was very accommodating and was able to work around some logistic issues to expedite the installation in the summer heat.

I couldn't believe my luck when I called and not only spoke directly to Bob but he was able to come out within the hour! He took the time to trouble-shoot the AC problem, explained what he found and what was wrong and what needed to be done to resolve the problem. He was very professional; I would highly recommend him and we will definitely use him again.

I purchased a vacation home in Point Pleasant Beach. My HVAC wasn't working and I called a few companies to take a look. Bob was punctual and honest and told me I need only to replace the contacts on the condenser and he could get it working, which he did. He advised me to replace the condenser the following spring. He also looked at my hot water heater and all of my duct work. He was terrific! Then this Spring I called Bob to replace the old condenser and hot water heater even though I probably didn't need to to but it was already 11 years old and I didn't want to take any chances. I provided Bob and his assistant access to my home and he was outstanding. His work is impeccable and he cares. He is also very neat and will give you advice as if he were a friend or relative. A terrific experience coming from someone who always has the highest expectations of others. A terrific experience!

Bob is a down to earth personable guy. Definitely, knew his stuff and found issues other people including myself missed. I'll be using him for the summer season and for maintenance. I recommend him to others without reservation.

Was very impressed with Bob?s knowledge & the quality of service he provided. My mom's A/C wasn?t cooling properly & Bob fully tested a/c & heating system & made recommendations with detailed explanations. He replaced the leaking a/c coil & the small emergency drain pan with the appropriate larger size. He was very thorough & made sure everything worked properly & efficiently. It was a very positive experience & I highly recommend Bob.

This was the best experience I have ever had with anyone working on my house! I called Rob; he returned my call! He said he'd be there at a certain time and he always was. Rob and his worker were always pleasant and extremely polite. They worked so hard to make sure the job was done perfectly and did everything I wanted no matter how difficult it was for them. I would totally recommend R&L to anyone! Great work ethic! (which is hard to find anymore) Great personality. Awesome!

I am extremely pleased with not just the quality of the service but the whole process with Robert. I contacted him via the site, he got back to me right away, came & identified the issue quickly, laid out the options and worked with me to implement the best solution for my particular situation. After making the decision to install a new unit, he scheduled the install, showed up promptly, removed the old equipment cleanly (taking extra care with the removal as it had to come through part of my bedrooms due to the layout of my house), corrected several mistakes made with the original installed AC unit (i.e. lack of a proper emergency drain) and fully tested the system coming back the next day to verify the system was working properly. No question, I will use R&L Mechanical in the future for my HVAC needs.

Bob is very courteous and very reasonable and he gave a senior discount to my 85 year old mother! He charged half of what another HVAC guy charged who recharged the Freon last year. Bob knows his stuff and his estimate for a new condenser and air handler was much lower than another estimate I received. Brick Township has many senior citizens and it is good to know there are good, honest contractors out there not trying to take advantage of them.

As far as I know they do a really good job. They have been very good as far as I know, but I really can't swear by it.

Air Conditioning was not cooling over the last few days, until it just stopped cooling, and very little air was flowing. I called Robert and took my information right way...scheduling was easy. He promptly came at the agreed time. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He did an assessment of my AC unit and what was going (determined lines were blocked...was freezing, as well as the coils being clogged up, and that i was in the negative for freon). He explained to me at every step what was going on and what his steps were to help correct the issues. He did recharge my condenser with freon. He was able to unblock the lines and unclog the coils in the unit to restore air flow. He also sealed up the leaks in my line. The whole job took about 2 hours. Once everything was set, he tested the AC system to ensure that unit was properly working and cooling the house. He checked all the individual vents and returns taking temperature readings. He definitely takes great care in his work. His pricing his absolutely fair, and the other reviewers here on Angie's List is completely accurate...Robert (Bob) did an amazing job, and am completely satisfied with the excellent work and service he provided. I will be using R&L Mechnical for all my future Heating/Cooling Needs. I highly recommend...great service at a great price.

Robert originally gave me an estimate back in September of 2013 but I put off going ahead with the work until June of 2014. Eventhough Robert had a lot of things going on when I called him after almost 10 months he squeezed me in and replaced my system on a Saturday so that I would be ready for my summer rental season..He was very professional and compelted the work as promised in a timely manner. I would definitly use him again.

The provider changed the furnace digital thermostat, inspected the furnace to determine why it would not turn on. Provider was able to get the furnace working and recommended using a furnace filter with a lower MPR rating, since higher ratings tend to cause problems with the furnace operation.

Called to confirm appointment Arrived on time After a complete evaluation.He fixed the problem. 1) Remounted the thermostate on wall after stripping wires and reconnecting. 2) Secured wire harness on A/C unit( which was the major problem) 3) Recharged with Freon to bring unit up to max.capacity 4) Determined an air leak on the furnace,retaped 5) Completed paperwork with NO Surprises Robert was professional and polite I would recommend hin to anyone
