Ruban Electric

I can't speak highly enough of Dale Ruban. He is an old school craftsman. He called me back immediately. He explained to me carefully (twice!), that he would be installing a four prong outlet instead of a three prong, why it was necessary, and what I would need to do to make sure that the dryer I purchased would plug in. He came in at quote! He was on time! Did not treat me like my questions were stupid! I can't recommend him highly enough.

The process went very well. Dale and his son came out on two different days, one to install the light, and one to do the service upgrade. Both were courteous and professional, and took great care to make as little damage as possible. They both clearly know what they're doing, and they do it very well. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone in need of a good electrician.

First, let me start by saying I called several electricians recommended by Angie's List. Mr. Ruban was the only one who called back. He called back the same day, came within two days and arrived on time for an estimate. Emailed estimate in a timely manner, was very friendly and always called back and arrived on time. Would highly recommend.

I called Ruban because my power had been going out intermittently and the electric company determined that the problem was not theirs. Dale got back to me immediately and came out the next day with his son D.J. They found the problem very quickly and determined that the fault was with the breaker panel, as well as deterioration of the cable from the meter. They determined that I needed to replace the ageing service, which I had suspected would be the case. They scheduled the work within 3 days and I couldn't be happier with their work. They took great care in making the new box fit into the opening in my finished basement. It was a tight squeeze, and I'm sure it wasn't easy, but they managed to do it without any damage or even a sign that work had been done. The work they did on the outside was a pleasant surprise because they replaced the old weathered wood panel that the meter was attached to with a a nice new metal one, which was a great improvement aesthetically. Dale took the time to explain what they did every step of the way, and why. He took care of obtaining the necessary permits and arranged for the township inspection of the completed work. I asked them to come back to move a light switch and install a new outlet, which they did a week or so later. They had to go into the attic crawl space for the wiring and they had to cut into a newly painted wall to install the outlets.They did a beautiful job and left not a scratch or even a fingerprint. I'm planning to have them back in the spring to install some outdoor lighting I'm so glad I discovered Ruban. They are a multi-generational family owned company. Dale and D.J. are a great team. They are knowledgeable and professional and obviously take pride in their work. Their service is outstanding and their pricing seems very fair. I'm sorry that it took me so long to do this review. The holidays left me very little time to do a proper job.

Professional, polite, and detailed. Dale performed above and beyond what was requested. He showed up on time, explained all options and fixed a few problems that I hadn't known about. He made sure to explain every step of the process and told me all my options. I would highly recommend Ruban Electric to all friends and family.

I called Ruban Electric late on a Friday Afternoon. John Ruban returned my call first thing Monday morning and, came over the next day to look over the work to be done and give me an estimate. John arrived right on time and answered quite a few questions for me. He looked over the work to be done and, at my request, looked over my circuit breaker panel and emergency generator transfer switch to ensure that it complied with local codes. He did this at no charge. He gave me a reasonable estimate and we set up a time frame to get the work done. Well within the time frame, John called and set up a time for the next day. He arrived right on time and completed the jobs. John is a great guy. He is very efficient, knowledgeable and, friendly. His work was impeccable and done quickly. He cleaned up afterwards and, put a drop cloth on the hardwood floor before he started to prevent damage to the hardwood floors from the ladder. I would highly recommend John and, Ruban Electric to anyone needing any electrical work done. Honesty and integrity are what they believe in and, good work is what they do.

Outstanding! John was fabulous. I thought there would be no way he would finish everything on our list in a day, but he did! The work was very professional and John couldn't have been nicer. He was very skilled, fast and professional.

John was excellent!! We called 3 electricians. One never called back. One just never was able to come out. He was the only one that returned our call and came out. We bought an old house that really needs some TLC. The electrical system had to be completely upgraded and needed much attention! John was very thorough in everything he did. Communication was great. Called and came out when he said he would and took care of everything we asked and then some. We have had him out twice so far to take care of our electrical needs. We still have quite a bit more work that we would like done and will be having him come back. His price was very fair! If you need electrical work John is the one to call!

I had electrical damage from a storm. My electric meter was pulled off my wall the cable to crawl space was pulled out some from the force. I called ruban's on saturday I recieved a phone call back that same day. Dale came out sunday to look at the damage and give an estimate. He was very thorough and took the time to explain everything that needed to be done. He checked the crawl space to make sure the integrity of the cable was intact which it wasnt. I needed rewiring from the fuse box in house to outside connection. He explained why he would do things certain ways to make sure everything was up to code. He also helped fill out the permit sheets to file the permits. The plan was for dale and dj his son to come on tuesday to start the work. On tuesday they arrived on time and began to work. They are both very professional and went above and beyond what they needed to do. I have them coming back to install a ceiling fan and back up generator. I would recommend dale for any electrical job.

We had a new kitchen installed by a general contractor. The "new" recessed lights were flickering. The electrician used by the contractor came back but could not identify any issues. The problem continued so we contacted Ruban to get a second opinion. Dale called back almost immediately and came out the same night. He spent 2 hours checking and fixing improper wiring. He advised that our ceiling fan and cable box were connected to a dimmer which is not acceptable. The fan was brand new and was very loud. The improper connection was causing the noise. A wire had a loose connection and no neutral wire existed. He corrected the problem and took the time to check another switch in another room (also done by the same contractor). This was also done wrong and identified as a fire hazard. Dale is coming back to fix that switch next week. Our lights work and we can use our ceiling fan without the noise. We are confident that after Dale is finished, we will sleep much better knowing our house is safe. We were so impressed with the quick response and the amount of time spent checking everything. He took the time to explain what he found and what needed to be done. I would definitely recommend this electrician and will use them again.

A great job was done. After checking a number of outlets to see if the problem stemmed from any of those sources, the electrician had to go into the attic, crawl all around to locate a junction box; once he found it, it became clear that some wires were loose; although he explained it all to me, I can't remember the technical terms. HOWEVER, he finished the job professionally, by making sure unnecessary wires were tied up and would not present a fire hazard. He then made sure all other outlets that he had opened up were closed up; ensured that the problem outlet and light were working. I should also mention that he was willing to meet me later in the day, as I couldn't leave work too early. I was extremely grateful. This is the third time I have used this company and will continue to do so. THANKS so much.

I called Ruban Electric to come out and look at my bathroom outlet because it was on the same circuit as my lighting and a through the wall air conditioner that we use in the summer time. Every time we ran the AC and a hair dryer at the same time, the circuit would trip, so we had to make sure they were never running at the same time. Additionally, every time the hair dryer was used, all of the lighting on that circuit would dim and stay dim. Needless to say, this made me very nervous. Dale called me back to come out and do an estimate within a hour of me calling. He came out the very next day, gave me a reasonable estimate, and took the time to explain everything. He indicated that there should be no damage to the walls, but did lay out the worst case scenario for damage so I knew what I was getting into. While he was there for the estimate, he also noticed that my ceiling fan, which was installed by the previous owners of the house, was on a dimmer switch, which is apparently not ok. We scheduled for him to come out the next week, and when he arrived (right on time), I had a few more things to ask him to check while he was here- I wanted both kitchen lights off of the dimmer switches (including the one he pointed out), a weatherproof cover on the outside outlet, and asked him to check another outlet which a previous electrician had indicated had old wiring. Dale was very nice, he walked me through everything and explained what needed to be done and what didn't need to be done at this time. He was trustworthy, punctual, and there was absolutely no mess when he left. I will definitely have Ruban Electric back for any of my electrical needs.

It went well. He wanted to charge another fee to come back to install an attic fan that had to be ordered, so I decided to call another provider that I got via referral. Otherwise, he was very knowledgeable and thorough.

Returned my phone message late same day, and was able to arrange for the work to be completed the next day. Person who showed up to do the job was polite and professional.

He was the nicest guy. He did all that work for me and then he came back. I said, can you guys also come back and do some electrical work for me? I have an older house, I'd like to put in those new electrical sockets and he did that and he also, in the bathroom, I have one of the older lights overhead the sink. He said, we'll have to go get you another light, is that okay? He went to do that, they went to Home Depot and put that light in. They were unbelievable, really nice.

I wanted things a certain way,but he said he would only do the work according to CODE. And he was right. Shouldn't mess with anything that could cause a fire. He was professional and on time. I think he gave me a fair price, not sure. I would hire him again, he obviously studies his craft, keeps imformed and tries to do a good job.

I contacted Mr. Ruban left a message with his wife and he responded in an hour or so. He answered all of my questions. He explained the type of detectors he uses, and the procedures used to install them. He informed me that he would come out to service them if necessary. I have not had an issue with the detectors to the present time.

I have recommended them numerous times and have always gotten glowing reviews from who every they are working for. You phone calls will be returned promptly and all work will be completed to code and to your satisfaction. Cannot give them a high enough review.

They responded to my second phone message, indicating that I would be home this afternoon for a visit from a plumber. They accommodated me by coming over just when I needed them to. They had done other work for me before and also did a great job. They are efficient, knowledgeable and professional. Very happy indeed. I will use them again and definitely highly recommend their services.

Very quick to reply, and setup estimate and work. Everything turned out great...

I replaced an electric stove with a gas one. The electric stove used a 240V outlet where as my new gas stove needed a regular 120v outlet to plug into for the electrical controls and spark ignition. I had a father and son duo come to my home to resolve this issue. They saw it easier to tap into a basement outlet and hook up a new outlet behind the stove instead of converting the 240V outlet. They snaked the wires through my floor without creating any new holes; they installed a solid outlet and braced it in place with metal brackets. The entire process took less than 1 hour. Even after watching them do the job, I know it would have taken me several hours to do the job they had done and it wouldnt have been as solid. Even though I estimate they didnt use more than $40 worth of materials and some people may think that $175 is a bit steep, but those people arent taking into account all of the other tools that I would have had to buy in order to accomplish this job. I also called them at 12 noon and they were at my house by 3pm that same day. That is some excellent service. I would definitely use this company for any future electrical needs.
