+ -1 moreCleaning went well. However the upselling after the job went poorly. They said I needed new gutters on entire house as they weren't draining properly. Plus my 3 year old roof was badly stained and needed cleaning. Roofing contractor came out and rebalanced two gutters. Took 30 minutes. Ned Stevens wanted to replace all the gutters on the house. Roofing contractor said roof was fine and didn't need cleaning.

+ 1 moreNed Stevens responded right away to my request for service and did an excellent job and even cleaned up twigs and leaves that were on a balcony outside of the gutters. Their price seemed reasonable. After the work was complete they left a message that they found some potential problems with the roof and drainage that I should know about. Great, thank you -I appreciate them being proactive and letting me know but rather than just send an email detailing it and leaving it at that they were relentless with calling and emailing and I finally called them and told them to stop. Aggressive sales aside, they were good.

+ -1 moreThey did an OK job. That was the only complaint that they came in unannounced. Returning without being approved. They did well.
Description of Work: It was Stevens, I think. Stevens Gutters. They put you on a schedule, because they come out like every six months, they are unannounced. The last time they popped up unannounced. They were just here to clean the gutters, in front and in the back.

+ -1 moreWhen they came out to clean the gutters they didn't really do a good job. What they did do was try to sell me on replacing my gutters, which I wasn't interested in doing at the time. They said they would come out even if I wasn't home but I have my suspicions that they didn't come out at all.

+ -1 moreThey charged us and three weeks later when we got the big thunderstorm, it still came out over the top, so it was obvious they didn’t clean the gutters. They always returned our phone calls though. They said they did it when we were out, they came by but we didn’t see them. We had a dry spell then but when we got the storm, we realized they didn’t actually do the job. I used them because of a coupon I found for them in a magazine. I think they were frauds. Had they done something, the price would have been a good price. I called them about it but they did not return my phone calls. We went to BBB and there had so much process that we had to go through so we just dropped it. It wasn’t worth the hassle.
Description of Work: We had Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning do our gutter cleaning. They were supposed to come out and clear the gutters but that is not what ended up happening.

+ -1 moreWaited 2 weeks for nothing 2 weeeks to get an appointment. The company has some crazy policy that they will not actually schedule an appointment time. I insisted and waited 2 weeks for Sat 12/20... called at 10 am still not able to tell me when they will come.. then they said someone came, but they determined that they could not do the job because it was too high...........never rang the bell, did not leave a note. horrible service, staffed with a call center and if they actually spoke to a client versus filling in a script then we could have both saved time..........they are only interested in signing you up for 4 seasonal cleanings/year and then doing it while you are not home.. of course they need access to water, but they neglect to mention that as well..........

+ -1 moreThe regularly scheduled gutter cleaning goes generally pretty well. The only complaint I have is that sometimes they don't clean up as well as they should, but since I noted this to the company at the time of my last renewal, I haven't noticed that to be a problem. That being said, they do not require anyone to be home at the time that they are providing the service, which is a huge convenience for me. Additionally, they inspect the gutters when they are cleaning them, and will return to repair them for no additional charge. I'm quite happy with their service. The only part of the whole process that I did not find particularly comfortable, was when they were trying to sell me the plan. They have at least one very pushy salesman.
Description of Work: Ned Stevens comes on a regular schedule. They not only clean the gutters four times a year, but they also repair my gutters when damaged without any additional cost. There are many different plans to choose from, and, to be honest, I don't remember which one I signed up for.

+ -1 moreI had my gutters cleaned by Ned Stevens on 4/5/2014 and today, 4/28/2014, I received a call, over three weeks later stating that there is a problem with my gutters which will cost almost 600.00 dollars to repair. I stated that when they were here cleaning the gutters they did not state anything was wrong and that they could not print up an invoice for us since the equipment that does the invoice was broken (per the person who did the cleaning). I explain this to the person who called me at 5:30pm EST on 4/28/2014 and he seemed to be unaware of this. He said that I should of received something, I explained to him that I got nothing except a broken gutter part in my back yard, dirt on the front of the house (just had it power washed that same day-4/5) and a piece of a roof shingles in my back yard as well that day. He then was blaming me that it was my email that was might of caused it to be blocked as spam (however I explain that I get all of the other emails from Ned Stevens and I check my spam email and junk email as well). He seemed to be getting upset with me and even blamed me for not getting my gutters cleaned enough. Very, very poor customer service. Also I do not know if he was just adding salt to the wounds but he said he could provide $10 off to the next service. But they want me to spend $600 to fix the gutters which is my fault since I did not have the gutters cleaned enough. (per the person on the phone today-4/28)

+ -1 moreThe good: I called and set up an appointment for gutter cleaning. The person who answered wanted to set up a contract which I wasn't interested in. They came to clean the gutters when we weren't home and left a bill, which was very easy and convenient. We were also able to use a coupon that we recieved in th email. The not so good: They followed up with a phone call telling us we needed new gutters. Their quote was very high and didn't give much detail as to what and where the issues were. The quote for new gutters was very general and didn't include price per foot, type and quantity of materials, etc

+ -1 moreI have to give credit to these folks. They installed gutters on our house almost 7 years ago and did a fine job then. During the heavy rains this past month, the gutters were overflowing at the far end and I couldn't figure out why (We had roof work done months before, thought that might have been it). They sent out someone to take a look and I expected an estimate, but their guys found an obstruction in a downspout, removed it, tested all gutters, for no charge, which is incredible for a system long out of warranty. I hopefully won't need them anytime soon but wouldn't hesitate to get new gutters from them in the future.

+ -1 moreI contacted this contractor because The Gutter Guys were taking too long to come out to clean my gutters. This contractor provided me with a quote over the phone and put me on their schedule for the next day. I wish I would have contacted them sooner, as I already waited over a week for The Gutter Guys who give an 8 to 10 day,and sometimes 9 to 12 day window. Ned Stevens arrived the next day at 8:00 am. Cleaned all gutters and informed me of a clog in my underground gutter drain in the front of the house. My gutters now flush out well, as proven with this last rain. I do have to have the underground gutter unclogged however. They were professional, cleaned up before leaving, and even used a blower to blow the water back into my yard so it would not be puddling on the sidewalk. As I said, I wish I would have known about them sooner. If you need to have your gutters clean as soon as possible, you should contact Ned Stevens.

+ 0 moreWe have had an ongoing arrangement with the Ned Stevens Co. for some years, in which they come 4-6 times a year to keep the gutters clean. They work quickly, using their own hoses and ladders, and occasionally have let us know if they've spotted a damaged section of gutter. Their repair quotes are reasonable. From time to time I shop around and look at ratings of similar companies, but I see no reason to switch. We are satisfied with their work. Payment arrangements can be made on a per-visit or yearly basis.

+ -1 moreoverall i had a good experience with one exception. they came out promptly and did a thorough job of cleaning my gutters. i signed up for a 4 x a year service plan at a very reasonable price. the only problem is they told me there were blockages where the gutters go into the underground drains. I told them i was not interested in having them clean them out for over $400 dollars. They keep calling every few weeks to pester me about the additional work. I told them the last time they called that if they continue to pester me about the drains i will discontinue my contract with them. I should NOT have to tell them more than once i am not interested. Besides this one issue i have no complaints.

Ned's crew came very promptly for an estimate, then returned quickly to do the job. We are pleased with everything so far. The quality of the materials and workmanship appear to be very good.
Description of Work: The crew cleaned out the gutters (including birds' nests!), repaired the underlying wood as needed and parts of the existing gutters, then replaced the remaining guttering. The price also included several more cleanings over the next year (we have lots of leaved yet to fall).
