Description of Work: I have an old house (over 50 years) that has never had any proactive or maintenance work done. While preparing our cellar for our oil delivery company to come clean our burner, I realized I'd not turned off the "front yard" pipe/spigot. When doing so, it turned out that the years of corrosion had finally hit home, and I experienced water leakage at the rate of nearly a gallon every half hour. I called John (after calling a few other local providers) and he had someone at our house within 45 minutes. The team member was prompt, polite, professional and fixed the issue within an hour. The fee was incredibly reasonable given the "after hours" and "no heads up" manner in which my request was made. I even called John after to thank him for how great he and his team member helped us out.

Description of Work: Evaluating the plumbing in my older home and made recommendations |to improve and fix some of the issues I was having. John is very professional and knowledgeable. |I made plans to hire John to come back and address some of the issues he identified.

Description of Work: I couldn't be happier. Pettigrew installed a hybrid hot water heater and a condensate pump (because my basement has no drain, I need a pump to remove the condensation generated by the water heater's heat pump). A couple of weeks have passed and everything works great!

Description of Work: John took time to help me trouble shoot a problem over the phone. We determined that he did not need to make a service call. He was super nice, listened and we found a solution to my problem over the phone. I appreciate his time and would call John again should I have need of his services.

Description of Work: We had a leaky kitchen faucet that needed replacing and couldn't remove. We also had two leaky bathroom faucets, both of which were dripping under the sink. I called Pettigrew Plumbing on a Friday evening to arrange for service, thinking I wouldn't hear back before Monday at the earliest. Much to my surprise, Mr. Pettigrew called me on Sunday morning, mentioned that our town was out of his service area, but then spent 45 minutes on the phone with me explaining how I could fix both problems myself. Following his instructions, my husband and I were able to remove and replace the kitchen faucet and stop the leaks in both bathroom sinks. Needless to say, we were thrilled and very grateful to Mr. Pettigrew for taking the time with us and helping us fix the problems, all at no cost! Mr. Pettigrew was very professional and patient with me on the phone in explaining the fixes. Since my husband and I had almost no experience in handling plumbing issues on our own, I was worried that, not only would we not be able to complete the work ourselves, but would end up without the use of all three sinks until we could get someone in to help us (which is difficult in our rural area!). Mr. Pettigrew assured me that, with the right tool, the kitchen faucet removal was easy and that fixing the bathroom faucet leaks was a simple turn of a wrench. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Pettigrew Plumbing and Heating/Solar Solutions to others in their service area in need of a plumber.
