After a 5 day power outage, PSNH restored power at around 9:00 pm on Thursday 11/4. However, only half my house got power. The important things like heat, frig, washing machine, computer, TV, were without power. I called Gagnon's Electric around 11:00 pm. Bill arrived at my house in about 20 minutes despite the fact that he was asleep when I called. He diagnosed the problem immediately. It turned out that one of the twisted pair of wires from the telephone pole to my house was dead. So at my breaker panel, some breakers were supplied with current, and subsequently whatever those breakers were associated with in my house got power. The line that was down caused other breakers not to receive power so whatever those breakers were associated did not get power. Bill indicated that the downed line needed to be fixed by PSNH, but he could do something at the panel to make life easier in the interim. He swapped around the breakers so that the areas of the house that had no power had it, and the areas of the house that had power would no longer have it. This switch around was perfect because almost everything that didn't have power (the important stuff as noted above), now had power. The areas that had power were now without but they were far less important; e.g. spare bedroom light etc... I finally got a good nights sleep in a comfortable house. I contacted PSNH the next day and they repaired the line. Thanks Bill, great job!

The work was done while we were under contract and didn't yet have access to the house, so we didn't actually meet the contractor, communicating with him entirely by phone and e-mail. However, the work appears to have been completed very competently. In particular, an outlet and a light switch were correctly relocated without our being able to show him in person where we wanted them repositioned.
