Mel was prompt, courteous and professional. Really appreciated that he brought demo window with him - very helpful in understanding true function and features of product.

Mel and his team did a great job. When he came out to review the project, he took some extra time in his truck to look up a few things and then produced a quote right on the spot. Weather last year caused him serious problems since much of his work is outdoors, so the schedule got pushed back, but he kept us informed all along. When his team came out to do the project, they were courteous, professional, and kept things nice and clean on the site. The workmanship is high quality so it took some time, but it was worth the wait. One area of the house did not come out exactly as we had expected and he did what was needed to make us happy without any extra cost. I have no reservations about recommending Mel.

Mel was excellent and I highly recommend his services. He was very responsive and thorough in explaining all the options. He was very clear about cost ranges and the time it would take depending on the condition of the framing (we had some potential dry rot in some of the slider frames). His bid was reasonable and fair. Mel and his son did the work personally. They were punctual, the job site was always clean - even over a multi-day period - and the quality of the install was extremely high. The house looks better than the original sliders and window that were put in. We have more windows to do in the future and we'll be using Mel again.

I was not very happy with him. Something happened and he was treating me unfair and he had and attitude towards me that I did not like. He felt badly and then he was nice after I told him that I was upset with his work and he was very in professional. He was supposed to do some siding and I would not call him again.

The whole process went smoothly. This was the first time that I replaced any doors and windows, and I was not familiar with the process. Mr. Martin was very helpful with answering all my questions. Though it took longer for the entry door to be ready at the factory than expected, everything else was done perfectly. The job on site was done quickly and neatly. They did not make any mess. All of the door and windows were installed properly. I'm very happy with the outcome.

We couldn't be happier with the service. The windows look and work great. Mel and his son do all their own work. They don't outsource. They worked hard in the middle of the winter, often outside to the complete the work. They were professional and didn't cut corners. What I particularly liked was the value for the money. I met many window professionals, but Mel stood out for having a great product, at a very good price, without any added costs. Any rotten wood that had to be removed and replaced was included, which was very helpful since our house is nearly 40 years old. The windows come with a life time warranty. I will definitely use Mel again for my windows and doors.

Lovely man to work with. Super customer service. It's just not a match for what I was looking for so I've asked for the refund. Reasonably priced.

Excellent Best contractor experience ever

Mel came out to look at the project I needed done. I believed I needed a whole new custom window installation but he said the window only needed minor repairs. He deferred me to someone else he worked with in the past so the major project and expense I initially thought was going to happen ended up being a very small price by comparison. I do very much appreciate his level of professionalism and honesty.

Craig (Mel's son) came right out to measure and write us an estimate. He was friendly and professional. He was understanding about the interruptions from our children. We had told him that there was a specific week we wanted installation to take place since I was on vacation that week. He stated that "it shouldn't be a problem but I can't give you an exact day now because it depends on our other jobs." The week he was supposed to come out I had to keep checking in with him. His job "took longer than expected". By Friday I knew it wasn't happening. He was supposed to come out Monday. Sunday we had a family emergency and ended up in the hospital overnight. I tried calling Mel's and got a machine. I left a detailed message. The next morning they called asking where we were. I was able to reschedule for the next day and appreciated that they could do that. Craig came out Tuesday got all the windows installed. He cleaned up, as if he were never here. He told me he'd be back to fix a screen and one other item. He followed through. We had one of the safety stops break and Craig came out fairly quickly to replace it. We've had a couple more break and I asked him to bring us some extras (They are easy to pop in and out) and also told him about a screen issue. This was approximately a month ago. He'll email saying he'll be in the area the next day and will stop by etc. When he doesn't show I email again and the cycle continues. I am happy with the job he has done but am unhappy with the follow through. Especially from an "A" rated Angie's provider. I suspect that they are getting more business than they can handle... maybe time to hire a third person. I prefer to support the small "mom and pop" so I'm not against using them again. Afterthought: He did take the time to go over how to use the windows and the storm doors before leaving. Which I didn't think to ask. Installation took place late April, Eastman.

Mel and his crew were professional, efficient, and stayed with the job until it was complete. When the job was complete all debris was removed.

He promised me a start date and despite his overlapping schedule, he made it happen, by doing the work himself. Once he started the job he was here nearly every work day except for total rain days, and although my dogs would say he was here a long time, I can see the detail he put into it and I appreciate his time and efforts.

Mel and Craig replaced 15 original 1970 era windows and storms with Harvey Regency dbl hung windows, front entry door, basement door inside the bulkhead, removed and sealed up a window under the deck, and re-screened a couple screens from an existing Andersen bay window. They did a great job, fixing up a few little areas of rot, and touching up the trim around the windows where the storms were removed or paint got dinged from removing casings on basement windows. They were very careful to well insulate any cavities or gaps and seal things up with caulking as well as filling all nail holes. They covered up the area around where they were working and left the areas spotless. With the doors they made sure to adjust/tweak framing where needed to make sure they were plumb and level. The attention to detail was wonderful. Overall a fantastic job and no hesitation to hire Mel for other work in the future.

He was good and prompt. They came, did the estimate and agreed to do the job. They worked during a holiday just to get the work done. Everything went well and the work was done on time. The price was competitive.

It took a little longer than I had hoped for them to actually get to our job, but with the winter we had there were probably people with more pressing needs. Once it was our turn though, they were in and out very quickly. That's even accounting for the fact that when they removed the old window they found that the previous work had not been done correctly and had to surprisingly add additional supports for the new window. The new window looks great, and the place was nearly spotless when they were done.

He was always on time and kept us posted as and when the windows were ordered and ready. We are pleased with the work performed in a timely manner. He was very accommodating in changing the day of installation on account of inclement weather. A very polite person to deal with.

Mel Martin was a very nice gentlemen, but was often slow to respond and lacked professionalism. I decided to use another company because they spent much more time with me making sure I spent my money well. I am paying more than what Mel Martin had quoted me. My overall experience was good, I almost went with him. I just felt more comfortable with the other contractor.

SHOWED UP ON TIME, DID AN EXCELLENT JOB

He was the most professional service person i have ever worked with. Put in new windows and my house never even looked like he worked in it. He cleaned up after himself so well it was like he was a professional cleaner. I have had other work done by other people that leave your house dirty. He had to do some siding and framing for a new large bay window that wasn't same as he replaced. Never said anything about having to do all the extra work and it looks perfect. I also had a window crack in a few months and he ordered the window and replaced it asap without a question.

Work was prompt and immaculate. Other than the new windows, you'd never know they'd been there! It only took 2 days and I changed one window size requiring some minor construction. The new window looked like it had always been there. I'm sure I saved some money on heating this year. All windows warrantied as well. Mel was friendly and polite - an absolute pleasure to work with. Will definitely use again.

I reached out to Mel Martin to perform repairs on two double-hung windows in my home, mostly because his profile on Angie's List was one of the only ones that indicated that he repaired Harvey windows. When I first contacted him, Mel indicated that he wouldn't be able to make it out to my home for approximately two weeks, due to his workload. What surprised me, however, was that Mel called me and indicated a willingness to come to my home on a Sunday morning! I happily accepted, and he made both minor repairs in about 30 minutes' time. Moreover, he gave me and my wife a training session, indicating what we had done to cause the tabs to snap (cause was the angle of the windows when we opened them inward for spring cleaning). So, lesson learned and $85 well spent. The windows are like new again, and Mel was very friendly and professional. If you need assistance with your Harvey windows -- or any brand -- use Mel with confidence!

Mel and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They cleaned up their materials at the end of each work day, and they listened to our needs. We even added something to our original plan, and Mel accommodated us with no problem! I would highly recommend his company to everyone. We have received numerous compliments on our "new" house!
