I want to give my highest possible recommendation for Craig at Mel Martin Windows! I hired them when I found significant rot and decay in the wood around my front door. Craig came to our home, evaluated the situation and created a great plan to fix everything. We ended up replacing the wood around the door and installing an entirely new door. Craig did an exceptional job at recreating the decorative brick mold we had on the door frame by using PVC products. He corrected all the previous issues and now gave us a new solution that will withstand the weather for years to come. Extremely happy with his professionalism, punctuality, flexibility and pricing. He is a true craftsman and a pleasure to do business with. Very pleased with how our project turned out.

We were looking for replacement windows without a 2-hour pitch. Craig (Mel's son) came out, gave a brief demo of two different options within 30 minutes, took measurements, and gave u an estimate. Installation was equally as easy. They came and did the install over two days, replaced some rotted wood, and we were done. No fuss. Great company. Will use for other projects.

I contracted Mel Martin Windows back in June to install my windows. At the time, I was given a time frame of the middle of September for the install. As promised, they began the job on September 18th. Craig and Ian were very professional and personable. Their craftsmanship is second to none. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. They meticulously cleaned up after each window was installed. Thanks for a great job ...We love the windows.

This is the 4th or 5th time I've had the pleasure of working with Mel and his crew. They had previously replaced all my windows (in stages) and doors. So asking them to do the siding was easy. Mel stands behind his work! I can't say enough nice things about Mel and his crew. Ian did most of the work. He stripped all the cedar shakes off the house; applied 3/4" foam insulation over the entire house. Put Vinyl shakes on the front and vinyl clapboards on the sides and back. Craig, did an excellent job getting the PVC up where the solar inverters are attached to the house (an electrician had to remove and put them back up). He replaced the wood trim around several of the windows and the garage trim. He also did the PVC trim on the front porch. At the end of each day Ian cleaned up everything. Hard to tell he was there except for the new siding being added to the house. The house looks like it's new!

Everything went very well from start to finish, I had more than one contractor visit for a quote and I had a good vibe from Mel .....he knows his business, he brought in a sample window, took measurements and gave me a quote right off. I decided to go with them and the installation was done in (1) day for (11) windows, the crew is clean, courteous and professional.....highly recommended. I also chose the Alside triple pane windows as they appeared to be a better value than Harvey. I am a satisfied customer !

A are professional! Mel, his son and another worker replaced a 120" bow window and two exteriors doors. They cleaned up as they went along and when they were finished. Excellent workmanship!

It was a pleasure working with Mel. Mel has been in the business for 40 years and it absolutely shows. I quoted multiple companies and others could not even measure properly. Other companies talked of cutting my wainscoting and patching in sheet rock. Mel measured flawlessly and professionally. He offered his opinion based on his experience and expertise. This was extremely helpful to me. The install went perfect. Mel & team took their time to do the install correct. The end result is brand new double hung windows & new bays. All installed perfect with out even 1 scratch or damage anywhere. Pricing was very fair. I would absolutely use Mel again and recommend him to others.

They put insulation around the windows then sealed the windows casings and cleaned up after each window was installed. Very professional and courteous.

They made sure all windows were insulated and sealed properly and left my home in excellent condition, even taking there shoes off each time they entered my home. They were very professional and courteous and it was a pleasure doing business with them.

Very well. Mel and his son showed up as committed to and they were true pros. They constantly double-checked and made sure things were right. I noticed an imperfection with one of the sliding doors and before I could say anything, Mel brought it up and said he was going to call the field support team from the manufacturer to set up time to come and replace the piece. I cannot recommend Mel Martin Siding and Windows highly enough. ?From our initial meeting with Craig, we knew that they were going to be the right company for us to deal with for our siding project. ?Craig came out to our home several times at our request to?walk us through all the options and prices. ?He?made certain recommendations which we felt were in our best interest, even though some were additive to the cost. ?We never got the feeling that he was trying to "up sell" us on anything. ? Within a week, Craig's siding specialist was on-site and starting work. ?Ian was one of the hardest working people I have ever encountered. ?For the most part, he did the entire siding job himself and would be working hard from the moment he got there in the morning until it was time to leave in the evening. ?He was pleasant, friendly and always cleaned up the area at the end of each day. ?We have small children, so we didn't want any nails or other construction materials left for them to step on or play with. ?Ian always left a meticulously clean work area behind. ? ?I can't tell you how much different and how much better our home looks with the new siding. ?It literally looks like a new home and we can't thank Craig, Ian and company for a job well done. ?Again, they were a pleasure to deal with and couldn't be happier. ? Another great job by Mel and his crew. This is the 3rd time we've had him back to replace windows. I can't say enough about the quality of work and the professionalism of his crew. They always clean up as they go long; there is never any mess. After they leave you would never even know they were there...except for the nice new windows. We'll have him back next year to finish the project and replace the final two (2) windows

We worked with Craig Martin from Mel Martin Windows. Extremely happy with the process and with the results. Craig was very laid back with us, but very professional. We understood our options and chose good-quality windows and doors that he supplied. Craig did the removal/install himself and always left the work-site (our home) in great condition. I was so happy with Mel's work the first time, we just had to bring him back again for an additional replacement window. Mel's crew arrived on time, removed existing windows, and replaced with the new casement windows. He insulated around the windows, caulked and trimmed them out. He kept the back deck and the interior of my wife's sewing room very clean. We have more windows to go and I won't hesitate to call Mel this spring!

Mel came in took the window out, reframed area to fit new window. Once the new window was installed he and his crew, reshingled, insulated and put up sheet rock. Excellent workmanship!! He and his crew kept the kitchen area clean as well as the outside area. It was a pleasure to do business with him.

We had trouble finding someone to repair our home when it was struck by lightning. We got several estimates, and Mel was not the cheapest but we chose him for several reasons. His reputation is excellent. He came out more than once to measure, and he made sure that our questions were answered. Other siding companies couldn't even be bothered to come out and look at the job. They sent quotes based on photos from me and from Google Earth. Mel does business the way it should be done -- face to face. He left us with samples and made sure we understood what he would be doing. There was only one person working on our home, and not a whole crew like we would have expected. As it turned out, a whole crew was not needed because Ian worked hard enough to do the work of three men. Ian was always on time and he NEVER stopped working. It would be around dinner time, getting dark, and he would still be out there until he couldn't see anymore. He didn't smoke or spit or otherwise disrespect our property. I never saw him take breaks. He wasn't texting or talking on the phone. He did what he needed to do and he cleaned up after himself. I can't even tell you how rare it is to come across someone like this. We have had lots of work done on our home recently, and it has become obvious that a good work ethic is almost nonexistent these days. Ian is a gem. In addition to all of the above, the attention to detail was impeccable. We were expecting to have to go around and point out things that were missed or done sloppily, but there was NOTHING. Ian was proactive and took care of things without being asked. Mel got in touch when the work was done to make sure we were happy. We are, and it is because of this "old-fashioned" way of conducting business that Mel got our business to begin with. Needless to say, we are beyond impressed and would hire Mel Martin again.

Mel Martin scheduled install for 11/30 & 12/01, at 9:00 A.M., in my case, verified by Mel by email, and he and his team (son & other worker) arrived just before 9 as promised. They immediately began work, removing the bulky Garden Style Enclosure, and house vinyl siding as needed to access such, installing the new double hung window within 1/2 day. This was the toughest part of the effort, and they performed it quickly and flawlessly. Most impressive was their attention to detail, in that they did not miss one nail (or screw if applicable) on the interior pre-fab'd wooden casing or exterior casing (vinyl picture frame around outside of window), interior sills, molding, etc. I know this only by viewing a little of their efforts, feeling how solid the sills and molding were, and asking a few questions. During install, they also uncovered a piece of plywood framing that was rotting and replaced this (for free!). We now have an up-down (double hung) window in our kitchen over our sink instead of a large, glass enclosure that was deteriorating and stuck out about 2 or 3 feet outside - over our deck - wood rotting, paint peeling, people hitting their heads. Mel's son and other worker proceeded to the other, old wooden double hung windows, replaced 3 of these with the Harvey new construction ones before the end of the day Monday, when it was just about totally dark. They returned early Tuesday, around 8/8:30, to replace the remaining 4 windows with the new construction ones, and by about 3:00/3:30, the job was done - just as promised! I felt bad since a lot of vinyl had to be removed to access the openings for the Harvey new construction windows, yet they never complained on this extra effort, didn't charge anything extra, and properly re secured the vinyl with the proper nailing. They even had to pick up a 1/2 dozen or so pieces of new vinyl pieces during their efforts, yet never charged us any extra for this! They also reinstalled the roller shade hardware, and/or any other curtain hardware I would've needed, back onto the casings - again, all included, no complaints. On the windows, I noticed how attentive they were with putting in new insulation into the header openings (none there!), around the gaps of the windows, etc. They nailed the casings, sills, molding, and caulked (wood filler) all the nail heads and casing transitions, double checked every window - there were no surprises, they did not miss one thing, and the Harvey windows inside & outside look superb! I was referred to Mel by our neighbors who had new windows installed this past summer, and Mel and team did not come close to disappointing! I will be honest to say that this is the first contractor job I've ever had, that I finally came out feeling satisfied and not stressed. From all of what I described above, doing a thorough vacuum/cleanup, and even doing a walk around at the end of their job to show the operation of the windows, Mel Martin Windows is the best, and other reviews similarly agree, and rightfully so. I would use Mel Martin Windows without hesitation, for a few other things I will need done (new French Doors, Front door). Mel, his son and other installer are truly nice guys, answered all questions (0 arrogance), and are just a breath of fresh air to know.

Mel made an initial visit to our home, viewed the windows to be replaced, made suggestions, did measurements, and gave us an estimate to replace 6 windows. He informed us that they would be able to do the install in one day once the replacement windows arrived from the manufacturer. A date was set, they arrived right on time and the work was done as promised. One of the front windows needed to have a match for color to the other front windows that weren't being replaced and Mel did a great job suggesting a match based on the limited colors that the manufacturer had available. All side and back windows had white frames. Mel worked with his son and one other worker. They were on time at 9:00 am and worked constantly. The job was finished around 4:30 pm. Everything was clean when they left, the installers having removed all debris and cleaned the new windows. Mel made sure we understood that all windows are lifetime waranteed, including glass breakage, with one year of labor. After that Mel Martin Windows would extend the labor part of the warranty for as long as the original owner owned the house. We are very pleased with the results (the windows look great and operate so smoothly), and we would highly recommend Mel Windows to anyone considering replacing their windows.

After debating for nearly a year, I decided to have both my patio sliders replaced (6' and 12'). We found Mel through Angie's list and he is also highly rated as a Harvey installer. The Harvey products seem like a good value (anderson is too much $$) but still a touch pricey. Mel gave us an approximate time frame for installation. We played some telephone tag as the date neared. Once the date and time were settled (about a week prior to install), it was smooth sailing. He showed up on time with two others workers. The team was great; very polite and cleaned up after themselves. They got alot of work done in a single day and I'm pleased with my new patio sliders. It wouldn't have went well had I tried to DIY this project. I would recommend Mel to anyone interested in the services which he offers.

Mel was very responsive to our request for an estimate. We replaced 6 windows and also had 4 cellar windows replaced at another home. Mel's son actually did the work. He was very professional and explained what he was doing. He and a helper were done in one day in spite of the rain. They had a canopy setup outside. Great job! I would definitely recommend or use again.
