This person called me when I was on vacation. The message he left me on my voice mail was not clear, I could not understand what his name was, his phone number or issues he had. I could not call him back for I had no telephone number to reach him at. He could have returned a call to me and asked if I got his original call. There is no way I could decipher his voice mail message. I tried.

This customer called me on a Sunday evening requesting immediate service. I told him I just arrived home from the airport and could not get to him to assist till the following day. He asked me for a telephone quote. I told him that this would be difficult without seeing how badly his toilet is sinking into his floor of his mobile home. He sounded desperate. I gave him my hourly rate and said that I would charge him my hourly plus materials. I estimated my labor for the work to be over $200.00 and materials would be about $75+. I told him that I would have to remove the toilet, cut out the bad wood under the toilet. Reset the toilet drain flange to be just above the new floor level. Then cut in and attach new plywood. Install the toilet. Then put new vinyl flooring down. I told him it is probably a 3 - 6 hour job. He then said that I was to expensive. He said he was on food stamps and I should lower my costs to satisfy him. I told him that if he could not find someone to do the job, to call me back and I would work with him. I do not know why he gave me a bad review. I was never hired by him. I never saw the job. I only gave him an estimate over the phone based on his limited ability to explain the work needed to be done. I hope he found someone to do the job.

Description of Work: The kitchen light switch suddenly would not work. When I took the cover off I saw it to be a three way switch with some bare wires not attached to anything. I called John and he came out on the day he said he'd be here at the time he said he'd be here. (amazing). He fixed the light switch and the the towel rack in the bathroom that was pulling away from the wall. I had told him about the rack when I called about the switch. The rack was fastened to the drywall not by brackets or screws but by, as he called it, "mud." New to me. He fixed that. All for $65.00.

Description of Work: I sent an EMAIL late on Friday afternoon of Memorial Day week-end. He responded immediately that he had recv'd it and would get in touch on Sat. AM. I had a problem with my toilet not flushing properly. When I got ahold of him Sat. he said that he would be here in an hour or hour and 1/2. He was. He looked my problem over and determined what it would take to fix it. I agreed. When he had pulled everything apart, he called me in to show me a broken part. I acknowledged that I knew about it, and he preceded to fix my problem. He was very neat, cleaned up after himself, showed me all the parts he had replaced. The bill was very fair considering the holiday week-end. I would definitely call him again, and I would recommend him to anyone. I am a senior citizen and I appreciate a job well done and affordable.
