Anti-climactic. Both the provider and I were frustrated that Angie's List made this offer to me even though I am outside of the service area.

It was great. They were very nice and very professional.

Chris was on time and was very professional. He recommended recharging our ac as it was low on coolant. He wasn't pushy and didn't try to sell additional stuff like a lot of service companies do. We will use him again.

Discovered we had a leak in a grey water cast iron pipe. The leak was in a very tight location, in between floors in the building. To reach the leak, we had to open up the ceiling. After calling up a few plumbing contractors to get quotes, we contacted Alan Williams Mechanical. Chris came over to look at the problem. Chris explained how he planned to fix the pipe and gave us the price. However, like most of the other plumbers that looked at our problem, he wasn't sure when he could get to us. He contacted some of his other clients and moved his job schedule around so that the next day, he was able to repair our pipe. Chris arrived right on time with another worker and then brought in a third for additional assistance. They cracked open the pipe, removed the portion that had failed and replaced it with new material. With two men working the whole time and a third brought in for a portion of that time, they completed the work in 2 and 1/2 hours. The work area was cleaned up and Chris left more tarps behind so that the drywall workers could begin work immediately. I found Chris Williams of Alan Williams Mechanical to be courteous, professional, and punctual. His work was quick and thorough. In addition, when other plumbers said they just couldn't help us, he worked his schedule around so we would be first on the list. Chris's quote was competitive as well. We had one other quote for $700. The highest quote we received was for a an undetermined price that would be capped at $3,000! I will definitely hire Alan Williams Mechanical again if the need arises.

It went very well. Chris knew exactly what to do. Installing the faucets didn't take him the full 2 hours, so he offered to do some other plumbing work.

Arrived promptly, was professional and repairs were done satisfactorily and in a timely manner.

Provider was on time, friendly and efficient. The only negative part was that he forgot to take a plug of the garbage disposal and that my dishwasher didn't drain as a result. Had to go back to the old hand washing system for one day. Once I called they came back right away to correct it.

He did the job fine, but he left with a part of my bathtub, and it took me until this week to get it back.

The plumber was great, he was just really good. He came in and was very polite. He cleaned up after himself, so I didn't have trouble with my wife. He did a nice job. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. I think he was right on the money, he was perfect. For the money that I paid, he was exactly what I expected. He was very good across the board. I would use him again.

With that said, there was some confusion about the billing for additional work. I had a water filtration unit installed, and after installing the unit quickly and efficiently they suggested waiting until the tank filled to be sure everything was working correctly. However, they failed to mention they would be charging me their full hourly rate on top of the agreed-upon Angie's List deal price for just sitting around waiting for this to happen. One of them (there were two) even drove off to get lunch. When they gave me the bill I was shocked that it was not the Angie's List deal price we had originally agreed on, but a much higher rate including the additional hour of waiting charged at their full fee. I complained and said they had not told me they would be charging me extra. They were upset, but finally agreed to only charge me the agreed-upon deal price when I said I would be posting this on Angie's List. After taking my money, they said they would never come back so far to my town, and that it had been too far to drive in the first place. (This is after they arrived more than an hour late, actually if I recall correctly, closer to two hours late, though they did call several times to let me know they were running behind schedule.) All in all this encounter was awkward, but I am giving them an decent grade because they did a great job on the actual plumbing, and they did finally make the billing right, despite being obviously angry. If you use this company, they will probably do great plumbing work, but make sure that you clarify up front with them the exact scope of the work and the agreed upon price, so they don't charge you for extra fees you did not agree on.

Very happy with Chris' service. He tuned up both furnaces on the same morning then returned a few days later to complete additional work that was needed. Punctual, neat,and thorough. I felt comfortable with him in my home and felt comfortable that he was honest in his recommendations for furnace upkeep. I will definitely use him again.

We were doing a complete remodel on an older home circa 1890 in Northfield, NH. We were managing carpenters, electricians, painters and plumbers all working side by side. Not the most ideal situation in construction. Chris first came in to help us with the steam heating system. It hadn't been started in more than a year. He tuned it up, cleaned it and got it going. The other trades people appreciated the heat... Later in the project he and his technicians returned to connect the fixtures in the existing bathroom. They also designed and installed a brand new half bath on the second floor. We've had our headaches with plumbers in the past. There is a reputation for the trade. However, this company was easy to work with. Experienced and very knowledgeable and willing to listen and work with our plans. I trusted Chris and he lived up to that trust. They were right there on time and their pricing was fair and reasonable. We simply can not say enough about these folks. They will be our plumbing and heating experts on every project we do in the future. Thank you guys for making a complex and difficult project a lot easier with a great result.

No problems at all. He evaluated issues, discussed best and worst cases and oanly did what had to be done.

Since this was my first home and my first experience with oil heat I was more than a little bit lost. I found Chris on Angie's List and signed up for his local Deal. Chris was very patient and explained what he was doing and gave me advice on how to keep my system in good working order and advised me as to how often I needed to clean it to prevent any problems. I have a very old oil tank and who knows that kind of junk is collecting in the bottom of the thing so his advice was well received. I even ran out of oil and Chris told me what I could do as a stop gap measure and I only hope that that never happens again. Very positive experience and I will have him back again when it is time to have my oil burner cleaned.

During our annual inspection of our furnace, it was brought to our attention that our furnace failed a major inspection and needed to be replaced ASAP. I went straight to Angie's List to see if I could find a discount on a new furnace and found Alan Williams Mechanical. My husband called to find out the details of the deal and spoke with Chris. Chris said that he happened to be in the area so he would come over and take a look at our furnace. After talking to Chris about what we needed for a furnace, and asked all our questions about upgrades etc, we decided to upgrade to a 2-stage furnace with a 96% efficiency rating. Chris offered to do the install the next day but we decided to push it out to the following week. On the day of install, Chris and one other employee were here about 7 hours. They removed the old furnace and had it hauled away, installed the new furnace, installed a new exhaust vent and combustion air inlet, capped off vent to chimney and replaced existing thermostat control. They vacuumed after they were done, and left everything very neat. Overall, we are very happy with everything done by Alan Williams Mechanical. The price was great and we love that we now have a furnace that is more energy efficient, runs quietly (huge difference compared to the old one), and will give us lower heating bills. We plan on moving our business from the company we currently use for our annual furnace cleaning over to Alan Williams Mechanical. And Chris mentioned they also service AC units so we plan on giving them a call in a few months for this too.

Generally well. Gave a good price for the additional work that went beyond his 2 hour offer. Congenial, seemed knowledgeable. Told me where to go to get the fixtures and that worked out mostly well. The faucet I got for the kitchen didn't go over a raised area integral to the metal sink structure, that was not visible under the original faucet and discovered when the original faucet was removed, but he put on the one I chose so you can't tell. Maybe the person at the appliance store should have warned me about that possibility. I don't know. He forgot to turn the electrical switch back on and the water worked at first but when I went to fill the tub later it ran out and the water was rusty as I had used up the reserve. It gave me a scare but I called him about 8:30 PM when that happened and he told me to check the switch and it worked out. Good thing he answered his phone. I thought his job of cutting the hole in the closet wall (to access the shower pipe could have been more neatly done but I don't really know what they are supposed to look like. The cut was a little jagged (like maybe his saw could have been sharper?, or he could have used an electric device to start the cut?) and the paper on the sheetrock was ripped. Over all I think I got a decent deal.

It worked out wonderfully. He was very good. He used the 2 full hours.

Very quick to respond and very fast to set up the service. Came in and was very professional, well dressed, and cleaned up nicely after doing all of the work. Stayed beyond the 2 hours with no additional fee to complete the work.

Overall it went Great! Chris was professional and on-time. He tested my Furnace, He cleaned it and ensured everything was working properly. He then went through the house and looked at all of my sinks (4 of them) as well as all 3 of my toilets. During the inspection of a sink in my master bathroom, he noted that the stopper lever wasn't working on the Faucet. He looked around and found the clip had fallen off. He replaced the clip and the stopper worked. I would definitely recommend Alan Williams Mechanical to friends. They would also be my first choice if I need any Plumbing or HVAC work to be performed.

Working with AWM went great. To begin with, he showed up ON TIME. He provided a timeframe between 3-4pm, and he was here at 3pm sharp. Gave me a detailed explanation of how my natural gas water heater system worked (first time with such equipment, had only experience with forced air electric heaters), and proceeded to perform routine tests and purge the water lines on the baseboards. Made quick recommendations regarding adding a heat zone in the basement (it currently has none), and within the hour we spoke he had already sent me the official quote thru email.
