Description of Work: They removed a shower insert down to the studs and then tiled in the shower stall. They were very friendly and courteous but the work was terrible. | |1st problem is They put the wrong tile pattern in. I posted a picture of the tile pattern on the wall next to the shower they were installing and told them multiple times that we wanted to reproduce the shower in the photo. | |The quality of the tiling job was an F. Walls were not plum, lines were not level or straight and many edges did not align between tiles. Many tiles were not flat with some corners and edges sticking out as much as an 1/8". Grout lines varied in thickness from 1/8" to 1/2". | |Looked like a high school kid tiled my bathroom. |

Description of Work: Richard showed up as promised. Very professional and had an estimate faster than any other contractor and at a great price! I haven't decided yet about the work being done, I'm still having estimates coming in, but I am very impressed with Richards promptness and professionalism I felt I had to wright about it. After reading all the great ratings that Richard has from everyone. I'm sure I'll be hiring him in the near future.

 + -1 moreI purchased 2 hours of labor thru Angie's List based upon all the positive reviews of Richard's Remodeling & Repairs. Making initial contact was a bit delayed because I was thinking I'd be contacted via my personal email address and not via Angie's List email, but that's my mistake as a first-time Angie's Lister...so make sure you check the site for communication! Rich arrived on time and does meticulous work...he mentioned removing the moldy caulk around the tub, even though I only expected him to install the shower doors. And good thing! Made a huge difference and the finished job looks spectacular. The job ran 3 hours (one hour longer than I'd paid for), and Rich graciously accepted a personal check for the difference. Looking forward to using Rich again for some other work that needs fixin'!
Description of Work: Installed a frameless glass door for bathtub/shower...and removed all the old, moldy caulk around the tub, which I didn't expect him to do!

 + -1 moreRich arrived on time, assessed all of the jobs on the list and prioritized so that things that needed to have time to dry/settle and be worked on again would be done first. One job on the list was exceptionally hard to make work. However, Rich did not give up and after repeated attempts was able to solve the problem. I had contracted for the 2 hours provided in the Angie's List deal but asked him to stay and complete a few other items. He completed these effectively and efficiently. Rich is energetic, dedicated, optimistic, and eager to do his job well. My daughter and neighbor need work done and I am sending them his contact number. I will definitely use his remodeling and repair service in the future.
Description of Work: I had a list of things I needed to have done around the house. I appreciated that we were in contact many times via Angie's List e-mail about what I would need to have ready in order to have the work done without delay.

Everything was done beyond great and he even cares about cleaning up ! Really nice guy, very smart and has lots of stories. It was a great experience. I highly recommend Richard's Remodeling and Repairs.

I would absolutely not hesitate to use him again on future work. A very conscientious and observant contractor indeed!
Description of Work: Installed 2 ceiling fans and fixed the remote/receiver on a wireless chandelier device (overhead lighting in a specialty area where current house moulding could not be disturbed as my house was built in 1890 and is considered a historical home so there was no place for him to wire through the walls in order to get a line over to the unit itself).
