Description of Work: They inspected my chimney and were very professional, presented explained the problems inheritant in a 1955 chimney that needs a liner, presented options. This was the 3rd chimney sweep I called in for an evaluation/inspection. Am glad I called them BC they are the ones who I will hire to do the work.

Description of Work: The guys were great. They were very professional and kept the living room clean while they worked. They also offered to come back and go to the top of the chimney another day because it was raining on the service date. Will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I paid $205 for a Big Deal service for chimney cleaning and inspection by Fireside Sweeps, and scheduled the service with the owner for July 22, 2015, after 12:30 pm. I took the afternoon off to be at home for the service. Fireside Sweeps didn't show up nor did they contact me through email or phone to cancel this appointment. A call to the office by me on the morning of the appointment to confirm was answered by a prerecorded message stating that the owner was out from July 22 - 29, and that work scheduled during this time would be done by "Gary". Needless to say, "Gary" never showed up, nor did he contact me to cancel or reschedule. Hence the "F" grade to Fireside Sweeps for failing Business 101 ; taking my money and failing to show up to do the contracted work as agreed upon.

Description of Work: Called them to do a chimney inspection and cleaning, but when they came they just said my chimney did not need cleaning. could have just as easily cleaned it and charged me for unnecessary work, shows integrity

Description of Work: Chimney Sweep (very tall chimney over a wood burning insert) - had not been cleaned in several years. They were very friendly, neat, and professional. Removed shoes on entering, covered whole area, kept vacuum in stove and never lost a bit of soot. Explained everything they saw and what it meant. Noticed a few cracked fire bricks and advised me on how to replace. Very happy with experience and glad to know chimney is safe now.

Description of Work: Spoke to Steve on the phone about repairing our chimney ash pit in the basement that has a wide crack which lets water seep into the basement every Spring. He said his company doesn't work on that part of the chimney and what sort of company to call and what the repair should be. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for the info, Steve!

Description of Work: Steve and his wife came promptly as scheduled, cleaned main chimney flu thoroughly; inspected 5 other fireplaces/flues and a wood stove; one chimney/fireplace needed cleaning which was done for reasonable $150; woodstove determined to be badly installed and not recommended for use; other 3 flues/fireplaces inspected and found to be OK.. Steve did not push us to clean additional flues, a good sign, since many sweeps will want to clean flues that really don't need cleaning.

Description of Work: The clay flue pipe inside my chimney had collapsed (probably built by incompetent mason). |Required removing the old flue by knocking a hole in the chimney, breaking up the clay pipe and |pulling it out piece by piece. Then installing a new metal pipe. Project took about 4 hours, much faster than I expected. Price was on the high end judging from what I've heard from others with similar problems. But Fireside did it on emergency basis, and so far results are AOK.

Description of Work: Steve came over to check out our chimney, we just bought the house and didn't know what to expect. He didn't charge us for the inspection and told us it wasn't in need of cleaning. Answered all of our questions, took his time, very honest and personable. We'll definitely call him when we need work done!
