The cost almost doubled last year because of the coolant that they have to put in. What I like is he answers his phone and he responds right away, and this is important. I haven't really had any trouble with them. So, I could suggest and I would say just that. The price was high, I didn't expect that and they didn't warn me that it had gone up before they came. I have to know what an average price of somebody to do in the same thing would be. I don't know because I thought it was on the little on the expensive side to what they did.

First, we found Cal's Air Conditioning and Heating on ANGIE'S LIST. My husband called Ernie who responded that he
was booked up for a week plus, and urged us to call someone else.  After learning of my husband's heart condition,
he agreed to be here the next day at noon. Sure enough at 11:30 he came to our door and went right to work. The
problem was immediately detected , and fixed within 20 minutes.
He advised us to call him prior to next year's cooling season start, so that he can service the A/C before
we need it.

Ernie and his coworker were great.  Both were professional, knowledgeable and didn't try to up sale me on anything like some of the others who bid the job.  Ernie's price was reasonable and he also was responsive to both e-mails and phone calls which I found rare when trying to set something up.  I certainly plan on using him again.   So far the AC unit is running well and we have no complaints.

Cal's was great.  They arrived when they said they would and did a great job.  The job was done neatly and professionally and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Came to Laconia to give and estimate on split air conditioner installation and then had him down to Londonderry to service
my central air unit. Both times they were professional and punctual. I would use them again

I had an airconditioner installed two years ago.  This system is not central conditioning but it does have a unit outdoors.  The original installer did a lousy job and it would not hold a charge.  I called Cal's and he gave me an estimate of $1500.00.  He had to replace all the lines which were not the right size and was the reason I lost all the coolant.  The orignal job looked really cheep.  They came  in and put duct work on the side of the house to enclose all the wiring and it looks great.  It is very clean lines and very neat.  They were very professional and was there early and it was even raining and it was a holliday.  They are very nice and professional and I would recommend them to all of my family and friends.

It was the 2nd of 3 days in the 90s, so everyone was calling for air conditioning service.  One company promised to come out the next night at 6:30, and never called to say they were to busy to come that night.  Another very big company, which many locations, couldn't come for 3 days.  We had to stay at a motel, it was 90 in the house.  Cal's came within hours after I called them, 1:00 the next day.  They had finished up a job early and pushed my job to the front.  I must have sounded desperate  :  )  In 15 minutes, he had found the problem, and fixed it and we had air conditioning from that night on.  They were awesome guys!!!  So nice to deal with as well.

Central AC broke down.  Called Ernie on Saturday.  He told me he would come  out on Monday to check it out.  Arrived when he said he would .Found that the outside compressor had burnt out on a 13 yr old system. Recommended a proper replacement for the compressor and gave me a price which was very fair. Did not try to sell me any more than what was needed. Came in on Thursday and replaced the unit with a new energy efficient ten year warranty compressor. I was impressed with his quick response to my needs, his competence and his honesty. His price was very fair and upfront with no surprises. And he’s a pleasant and  efficient worker. Am very pleased and will use him if needed in the future and will recommend to others.  A+ on everything.

It went great- I couldn't be more happy. I would call agaiin and refer him to all my friends. A lot of companies wouldn't service this area so it is important to me to get quick and dependable service.

The work was done exactly on the schedule that was laid out. Relevant questions and decisions were presented with information and options. He paid attention to not only functionality but appearance of all components both for the exterior and interior. The crew was good natured and pleasant to deal with. Overall great experience.

Since the house (colonial) has baseboard hot water heat, there was no ducting for central A/C - initial attempt for central air was far too expensive. Researched and decided upon the Mitsubishi split system and decided to call only Mitsubishi Diamond dealers (for quality) for estimates. Choose this dealer because of price, practical knowledge, and ability to defend and satisfactorily respond to questions. All dealers interviewed appeared very competent - one was the "Cadillac" and beyond my budget and one did not do the electrical work (had to hire an electrician separately). Cal's offered the best value, no frills, but just what I needed. Two workers came at 8:30 AM and they were complete by 1:00 PM. A slight delay in retrieving a correct part, otherwise they would have been completed sooner. Very clean and professional operation - cleaned up as they went along. Care taken to minimize cable runs and to install units with minimum intrusion to house. Ernie returned later in the day to explain operation and to show how to operate the remote control - offered opinions based on personal experience on what features worked best. Final price was the same as the estimate. Great advice given on the heat pump capability which has proven to be a pleasant benefit not previously planned. Units look great and blend well with the outside and inside of house. A couple of DIY friends have looked at the installation and gave it the "thumbs up". Next summer will test the A/C effectiveness and may do a follow up report, but judging from the performance thus far, I don't expect any major issues. Since the other two BRs aren't used much, we can keep the MBR door open for upstairs A/C and supplemental heat.

Follow up report.  AC has worked well even during the "heat wave".  No complaints.  We are very glad to have had this system installed!  The only comment is that the finished basement has not been kept as cool (hovers at 79-83F) as we thought it would by just keeping basement door open and allowing cool air to flow down.  May need to install a unit for the basement in the future to provide better control, especially for large groups.  So far, the reliability has been great, very quiet, and quick to cool (and heat).  Our guests have been very impressed and have shown much interest in the system.
