Gary Gilbert Masonry

I couldn't be happier with the high level of professionalism and service delivered by Gary Gilbert Masonry. The project was completed on schedule and I was given frequent updates as to its progress so I understood at what stage the work was at on a daily basis, it was great. Also, even though by nature this is a very messy project, my home was left clean and ready to entertain guests I had invited for the weekend.

Professional and fast. Able to diagnose and commence repairs.

Gary was very informative, I would rate him as very good, he is supposed to start in a couple of weeks.

Very prompt response. Very experienced. Seems exceptionally fair. Much better value than a non-mason chimney 'expert'.

He knows his business and has a pleasant personality. I could always call and ask questions afterwards. He was always correct in his advice.

It's obvious from the start that Gary knows what he is talking about in his trade. He fixed my leak problem, waterproofed the top of the chimney and replaced the bricks that had deteriorated, including a section about 5 feet up from the base that had started to pull away from the main chimney due to a rotted metal support. The problem was with scheduling. He would either not show up when he said he would or he would call the night before or day of and cancel. His reason always was that he was tied up at another job. Apparently, he doesn't do the work himself he has employees do it for him. On one occasion, after he put me off 3 times, he came down on a Sunday. My expectation was they were coming to finish the job. When he arrived it was apparent that he was only there to inspect what had been done and since my complaints were truthful he had his employees return to finish the jpb again. He had also stated when he estimated the job that the reason for his price was that he would need scaffolding to do the job. I never saw any at my house and he requested I leave my ladder out for them to use. Nice guy but very unprofessional. I have rated him good because even with all the scheduling problems he did finally show up and do the work that was promised. I had called 5 other contractors who said that thay would come by and give an estimate and they never showed. The other contractor reccommended by Service Magic was honest and said he was too busy to take on my job. I just don't understand why he is even listed.

Gary and the others on his team did a great job of completing all items included in the project plan. The project scope grew once we began, but all items were addressed. The transformation of our property has been very recognizable. From the retaining wall, to the patios and then landscaping, overall the property looks great!

Gary was great. He kept his promise of when the work would be done and he called every night to let me know how things were going. The quality was excellent also.
