I have two complaints about my recent service. First one, is they gave us a four hour window to come do the work and went 30 mins beyond that window without one phone call. Second the service tech smelled like smoke and stunk up the whole house. I would not recommend this company and will not do business with them again. Work performance was good but a lack of professionalism.

Overall, it was a positive experience, although the time windows are somewhat inconvenient. I think it was a 4 hour time window.
Description of Work: I made the initial appointment approximately 3/23. The repairman arrived within the time window and diagnosed my washing machine. The washer needed a part he did not have, so he ordered it and installed it a couple days later.

A serviceman came out to fix a problem with our digital dryer. Unfortunately, it was an expensive part so we ended up buying a new dryer but the serviceman spent quite a bit of time (over an hour) trying to find a way to fix the dryer. We felt that he gave a good report of the problem and was very knowledgeable about his work.
Description of Work: Our digital dryer was not working correctly. The clothes were getting hot but took several runs to dry...sometimes 5 or more hours. The company sent out a serviceman who was very thorough in trying to determine the problem and attempt to repair it.

Shannon denied having ever talked to me. I got thrown under the bus. Not once did they offer a service manager, not once did they try to help remedy the situation. They seem very unprofessional and the target keeps moving. Do not trust them. There is too much good competition out there to count on someone who has unreliable service personnel and who really doenst care about making $$ or fixing your problem and becoming your trusted appliance go to.
Description of Work: I origiannly phoned for a dryer repair which they performed well. While here, I had them look at my dishwasher and paid 20.00 extra for a diagnostic evaluation. I was told that Sahnnon (the serviceman) would order the part and call me when it was in. A week later, I called to find out where it was. They denied having any info about the order and said they would order it and get back to me again. They did not. I called yet again and they scheduled a service day which they did show up for but due to construction, they couldnt access an area. I fixed the problem within a day and they scheduled a date to come with a window of 1-3 hours today. They never showed up and renigged on the price origanlly quoted by the serviceman Shannon. This is the second time we have used Nebraska Home Appliance Service and have been very happy with their services. Our microwave oven quit working on Sunday. We called first thing Monday morning and had a repairman out by the end of the day. He assessed the problem, replaced a faulty switch and took less than an hour. The price was reasonable and the responsiveness was great. We will use them again.

Our dryer was not drying and getting super hot even to the touch. I checked angie's list and found the service provider and a deal for $50 of work for $25 plus a $15 coupon. I called them and they came out within 2 days at our convenience. diagnosed and thoroughly cleaned out the dryer vent and was very professional.

The company responded to our inquiry quickly and always arrived promptly within the time window stated. As expected, the first visit was purely diagnostic, with a follow-up scheduled to replace faulty parts. Once that was done, however, the repairs did not fix the problem. They then returned and found a different problem, which was then fixed. This second fix solved the problem. As promised, the company honored the guarantee to fix the problem, so there was no additional charge for the third and fourth visits, other than the cost of one part. They even replaced one other part free of charge. Our only significant concern was that the company required us to sign a waiver of liability for any damage they might do to floors, cabinets, or countertops in the process of moving and repairing the refrigerator. We felt they should have been accountable for any such damage. Fortunately, they were careful and no damage occurred.
Description of Work: The company came and evaluated problems we were having with frozen fresh foods in the vegetable drawers. Once diagnosed, they replaced appropriate parts over a total series of 4 visits.

I received a bonus after going online to Angies List by getting $100 worth of service for $50 after setting up the appointment with a sales person who also told me about the promotion. I also asked about the cost of repair to ensure I would be able to use the $100 worth of credit and was told the initial service charge of $59 would be included in the cost if I had them do the repairs. I had water leaking in my freezer section from a frozen line from the water dispenser. The service person came within the time frame given for the repair, between 8 to 10 am and arrived at 9:45 am. He called to let me know he was in route.He was courteous and went right to work on finding the problem. Once he was finished he handed me the bill and I gave him my printed copy of the promotion, after calling his office he deducted the $100 and I wrote a check in the amount of $28. I was pleased with the work done, he left the kitchen with no mess or water and he finished in a timely manner. I read the comments on Angies List and was satisfied with the results I received, so I would recommend the company as well as use them again.

I set up the appt on the 27th. Gave them my dryer model number so that the tech could have the belt with him. They said a tech would be here on the 31st between 1 and 5. They were very prompt and got here at 1. Unfortunately I was not prompt and wasn't here. I asked them if they would come at 2 and he did. It was very nice that he was so easy to work with. Kevin is the tech that came out. He was very friendly and professional and personable. The only bad thing was he didn't bring the belt with him. I'm still not sure why they would bother getting the model number in order to bring the belt, and then not bring the belt. I suppose it's because they are human just like me :) He was very prompt to go and get it and they even had another tech meet him half way to speed up the process. This is an excellent company and I would certainly use them again.
Description of Work: Samsung dryer, part of an upright front loading pair, had what I thought was a broken belt. It was a broken belt and they replaced it.

When I called to set up the appiontment I asked that the tech call me 30 minutes prior to arriving. He called 30 minutes prior! Very knowledgeable individual. He found the problem within 10 minutes and actually had the replacement pump in his vehicle. After removing the failed pump, he showed me the old and new pumps side by side. Whne I turned the pulley on the old pump it wa clear that the bearing felt like steel on gravel. He installed the new pump and tested the machine - worked fine.
Description of Work: Diagnosed and repaired washing machine. Drain pump bearing failed and was emitting a loud scraping noise.

I do not trust Nebraska Home Appliance, but I would hire Major Appliance anytime.
Description of Work: The technician from Nebraska Home Appliance Service came at the agreed upon time to repair our Whirlpool ice maker. He told us that both the ice maker and a valve were broken and both had to be replaced. He said that the ice-maker, the valve, and the labor to install them would cost a total of $461.00. I called Whirlpool and they told me that the parts cost a total of $170.00, including sales tax. I then told the technician from Nebraska Home Appliance that I was not willing to pay $290 for labor to install the two parts. I paid him $65 and he left. I then called Major Appliance. The technician from Major Appliance came out and said only the ice maker needed to be replaced because the valve was OK. He asked for a total of $223 for parts and labor to replace the ice-maker. I agreed to pay this amount because it was less than half of the amount requested by Nebraska Home Appliance for labor and replacing two parts. The technician from Major Appliance replaced the ice-maker and it has worked fine ever since.

They are always very helpful. Frigidaire normally pays for the service and they have even sent a new refrigerator about every 5 months as there is something wrong with the refrigerators. They have to keep repairing the refrigerator until it is rendered useless. The guys are very helpful and follow the rules of the manufacturer.

Water dispenser not working on jenn-aire frig. I also have reverse osmosis running to frig. repair guy came out and I explained that we turned off the valve under the sink in kitchen because we had a leak at the water dispenser on sink. said that might be reason my water stopped working on the frig...that it could be run thru there. I said "Turn back on aND check". so he pulled out the frig and messed with it saying that there was a kink in the line. I said then why did it work before and did you turn the water back on? He said yes. I went to valve under sink because he was on floor looking at frig. the valve was NOT turned back on. I turned it on, but he shut the valve to frig off behind frig and told me I needed to have a plumber come out and completely redo the valve outlet behind frig. At this point I just wanted him out because he obviously was not telling the truth. HE Pushed frig back saying he turned off the valve behind frig because he HAD to so it wouldn't leak all over house. There was no leakage before AND IT was not leaking at the time. I talked to reverse osmosis folks and they said not true. they came out and said just needed pumped up - RO had lost pressure to push to frig. I call NHA and told them to get back out there and turn my valve to the water BACK ON and they refused. talked to owner and he stated he could/would not because it could cause water to leak all over my floor because RO plumbed thru frig. Again RO people said was not true. So I paid and wasted all that time just to have these people do NOTHING AT ALL but turn off something that would have worked if someone knowledgeable had been called first. DO NOT USE !!!!

I'm sorry you weren't pleased with our service. Although we would have preferred to have completed the work and ignored the issue of the reverse osmosis system, in our professional opinion it is not safe to connect a refrigerator or anything with an electrically controlled inlet valve to a reverse osmosis system. The reason for this is that the water valve on the refrigerator has a working range of 20-120 psi. If the water pressure goes below 20 psi, the water valve might not turn off and can flood the freezer inside or leak water on the floor outside. I recommend you use a filter to keep the water pure at the refrigerator and do not connect a RO system to the refrigerator. While we want you to be happy and we aim to provide the best service ever, our primary goal is your safety. We have witnessed locally several claims where icemaker water valves failed to shut off and caused massive flooding. One case in particular happened when the customer was out of their home, and resulted in almost $30,000 of floor, subfloor, and basement water damage. It went great. He knew just what to do, but the price was high. I asked him to come back. I found other companies that were 15% or so cheaper, but they would have taken more time ordering parts, etc. He had the right parts on the truck. So I called him back, and even though he came a second time, he applied the first service call to the overall bill, so it didn't cost me more. After all was fixed, I had a minor question and he came back and showed me what to do, no charge!
Description of Work: He had to diagnose what was wrong with my expensive, side-by-side GE refriderator/freezer and fix it. The drawers were freezing vegetables and there was water in the freezer. He diagnosed it and fixed it.

We had a brand new refrigerator delivered from a home improvement store. The delivery guys could not get the water dispenser/ice maker to work even though we had water coming from the house. Nebraska Home Appliance was the subcontractor to the home improvement store for their warranty service. The technician figured out the in and out lines to the water filter were reversed. He switched them and everything checkout perfectly. The technician was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I would use this company again if I needed appliance repair that was not under warranty. I'm not sure of what their prices are like.
