The quality and the pricing brought me to them. They have the largest selection in the Mid-west. It's a huge store. If they don't have it, they will find it. If I found something somewhere else, and if they can't get it then they will find it for me. They are competitively priced. Their salesman is not high-pressured. They come up to the customer, but if they say no then they will walk away. They give time to think. They are low-key pressure.

We are pretty satisfied with them having bought 90% of our furniture from them. Their price is pretty good. They can certainly give us a little break. We shop around, but we very often go back to them. The only thing is that sometimes the quality of the furniture is lacking. We have had to send things back. When we bought our bedroom set, we got the headboard a big knock right in the middle of it and nothing else had knocked in it. It then took so long to get it out of here and then get a new one. It was not okay, but otherwise they were okay. It was an older house of the late 1980s, and their responsiveness has gotten better now. They are always punctual about coming out to our house. The sales people are always professional. They always try to strike a good deal for us. The truck drivers are not so professional. We would obviously use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We have purchased 90% of the furniture in our house from Nebraska Furniture Mart. Our house was built in the late 1990s, so things have aged over time. Most of our house is full of furniture, and we don't have to buy anymore.

We picked out some furniture and it is actually still in storage because the house we are moving into isn't ready yet. We bought a new bed and the girl was real helpful with that, otherwise, we just picked what we wanted. I think most people know about them here. They offer low prices.

Managed to get refund from the Mart. Ask them to check my database in their computer-I am a 30 year customer. NO MORE! They did not care. Ordered a washer and dryer online with a credit card at Sears-delivered, installed in less than 48 hours. Did the laundry that day and love the product. Totally hassle free.
Description of Work: Picked out and paid for new washer and gas dryer. Delivery people refused to install gas dryer, although I had been instructed that was the plan. Has to call gas company to uninstall old dryer, Ne. Furn Mart to come back and remove old dryer; still refused to in stall new dryer. Called gas company again after, I the female homeowner, moved the new dryer into position because the Mart would not. The gas company person hooked up the new dryer; it did not work. Sent both appliances back to the Mart. Two long weeks without appliances.

I think they are the best in town. Their installation is fabulous, and their prices are fabulous. I am going to be using them for carpet replacement after some damage. Everything about them was great. I have been going there all of my adult life. That's a lot of years. My salesperson is awesome. I'm an interior designer, so I am really particular. They are the ones to have.

My experience with Nebraska Furniture Mart was fine. I have bought all my furniture and appliances from them. There is not really much of a hassle with them. I'm in and out in no time. The staff is friendly. I would continue to use them in the future.

Everything was pretty good with the countertop installation except for two lines where the countertops meet. It didn't appear to be as seamless as we thought it should have been where the seams butt together. There is a bit of a gap.
Description of Work: We hired them to install our kitchen counter tops. We have used their services in the past for furniture purchase and carpet installation as well. The carpeting job was well done.

All their contractors showed up on time. I thought their paperwork was overdone. We got buried in paper. We got at least three or four copies of every contract. We had to return the carpets once, but I'm not necessarily blaming Nebraska Furniture Mart for that. It could've been a coding error from the carpet factory. We had to return the carpets and reorder the correct carpets. I don't know where exactly to point my finger, but they were very cooperative in doing that.

They are a big box store in Omaha. They were having a preferred pricing sale at the time I bought the TV. They are pretty good. The problem with them is that they have gotten a little bit too big. They have grown a little too fast for their systems. So, I don’t think their quality control is everything that it could be. The guy who sold us the TV acted like we would be really happy and he told us not to worry about it. He said that there wouldn’t be any problems setting it up. He said that he would be including everything we need. My previous experience tells me that if you don’t have the right cable, then it is not going to work no matter what kind of system you have. He said that I will get everything I need when they deliver it. Then they delivered it. When our electrical engineer was here the first time, he worked four and a half hours. He got it so that we could get basic cable TV, but we didn’t have 3D. There was so much stuff that it took me like 4 hours to open and pack all the boxes. There were many books and I had to read all the books to figure out as to why the 3D didn’t work on the display. Then it said 3D ready. In order to get the software to make it 3D capable, we had to download the software. In order to download the software, we had to have a wireless land adapter. It was a simple little USB type of thing. It was something that had to be plugged into the disk player so that it hooks up to the wireless internet access in the house and you can get online to get the software. However, nobody told me that. They said that they would include some free 3D movies. When the guy came out the second time to try and install it, he worked for another three hours. We were then able to see 3D, but we couldn’t have any sound with it because the 3D technology and the sound system weren’t working together. I paid $4300, which is a lot of money. I can now watch TV, but not something to do with 3D. I love the sound system, but I would like to be able to hear it when I watch a 3D movie. So, I am upset because when you go to buy something that is high-tech, you want to deal with a salesman who can give you all the technology you need to make the high-tech experience be what it is supposed to be. If they are not going to come home and install it, then you at least would want to get home with everything it takes to do it. So, that didn’t happen. When I called them up, I was able to tell them because I read all the books to figure out why it wouldn’t work and figured out that there was no wireless land adapter. I called them and I got their regular people. Their regular people said that they didn’t have it there. So, I wanted to speak to their manager and I was able to get a hold of a manager after a few hours. He told me not to worry and said sorry because I was upset. He said that they would get one for me and have it here like a week later. It turned out that they had to go to their Kansas City store to get it. They would like to present you with an experience, but they don’t have all the expertise to present you with. Somebody should have known about what was required to make the whole package that they were selling, which was over priced. I did get the wireless land adapter without having to pay for it. It has probably solved the problem, but it is a problem with Furniture Mart who put together this package that was supposed to be everything you need to have a 3D experience. They acted like they didn’t know anything about it when I asked about it and I had to research to find it. I would go back to their store for furniture. In fact, all the furniture I have is from there.
Description of Work: I bought my TV from Nebraska Furniture Mart probably in early February. We bought a 3D television set that was in a package with a 3D glare. It also includes the 3D glasses and the 3D transmitter. We also bought a sound system with 6 different speakers and some sort of a sound transmitter so that the back two speakers are wireless.

This experience overall has gone poorly. We had the floor installed in February while doing a major remodel. After the floor was installed we noticed some major defects in about 15 boards. The blemishes looked like a black grease pen had made some of them, while others looked like they were caused by a belt from machinery. After contacting the installer we hired, we expressed our concern about the boards and whether they should have been held out. He said there was barely enough product that had been delivered to complete the floor, and that it would have been difficult to with-hold them. It turned out he was right, as only 4 boards each about 1 ft long were left. This was an install that was 300 ft in measurement. I felt the boards probably still should have been withheld by the installer. He later compensated us 30% of the cost to install the floor, because of the unsatisfactory results. In contacting Nebraska Furniture Mart about the problems in the product and how unhappy we were with the results, they're only response was that the installer was at fault. While they are correct the installer has some responsibility in this problem, I believe NFM and the manufacturer have also contributed to the results and bear some responsibility. The manufacturer's quality control should have prevented the defective product from being shipped in the first place. Since this is NFM's supplier they are responsible for them. Also, when we initially purchased the product from NFM, they sent someone to measure for the amount needed. A few weeks later the installer came to take their own measurements. They said NFM's measurements had not allowed for any extra that might be needed. It had been their experience that it was important to add an additional 50 sq ft above the exact measurements in case problems came up. How right they were, as the problem we ended up having with the product caused us to need much more. I went back to NFM and asked our sales person to order an additional 50 sq ft. He said he did while I was there. However, we later learned while calling NFM's Customer Care after the project was completed and had experienced the problem, that the 50 sq ft had not been added to our order. In fact, a whole new order had been placed, but the old one was never cancelled. The result was when we called to have the product delivered, the original order was sent out. Thus, we never got the additional 50 sq ft that was needed to complete the floor. As stated before, when we complained to NFM Customer Care about the mistake they had made which had contributed to the problem, they simply kept stating it was totally the installer's fault. After many calls to Customer Care they finally agreed to send out representatives from NFM and the manufacturer. When the reps came out to look at the floor, they agreed there was definitely a problem with the floor and they would get back to us about a possible compensation. We were later called and told they would resolve the problem by NFM refunding us $100., and the manufacturer would provide an additional box of the product, which at wholesale value amounts to about $50. to replace the boards. We believe this offer is unacceptable in order to make this a satisfactory outcome. We are not comfortable with sawing out and tearing up the boards to replace them, even if NFM had offered enough for the labor to do the work, which they didn't. I have received differing opinions from installers whether such a fix would affect the long term stability of the floor. The new boards would have to have the tonque-in-groove removed and would have to be glued down, which is not how industry standards recommends the boards be installed. I worry how our floor would look 15 years from now. Would it still be level and look right.

I go into a transaction with NFM expecting good prices and selection, but sketchy service. When I set my expectations accordingly, I am generally satisfied. The washer and dryer transaction was exactly as expected. We chose the brand, color, features and price point we wanted from NFM's great selection. The salesperson was moderately helpful, but no expert. We got the usual rather broad delivery time estimate and the units were there within that time frame. No damage was done to doors, walls or floors during delivery or removal. However, the washer was not properly leveled, the hot and cold water hoses were reversed and the washer drain hose left loose. Having experienced NFM delivery before, I checked those things before we used the washer and dryer, so no disasters occurred.

Ordered custom leather sectional couch and coordinating chair. First issue: The delivery time took twice the amount of time then was stated – eight weeks instead of four. Second issue: When the furniture arrived, the couch pieces were not the same model/style and could not be installed as a sectional. This was pointed out to me by the delivery person. To me, that indicated that NFM knew the wrong pieces had been received from the vendor, but chose to deliver them anyway. Third issue: When I contacted NFM to remedy the situation, they provided poor customer service. They said they would remedy by reordering whole sectional (necessary due to custom dyeing of the leather). After several weeks, I re-contacted and they said that it was not possible to reorder because the vendor had discontinued the model/style. I went into store to meet with the designer that had placed the original order so that I could pick out a different custom piece, but she did not spend any time with me; instead she provided multiple sample books and left; thus, every time I had a question, I had to page her or find someone else. The end result – I returned everything and went to another furniture store. Really annoying! I had moved to a new home, and because of NFM, I was without living room furniture for nearly four months.

The associates were helpful throughout the purchase. They helped us to go over all of the pros and cons of each model. They answered all of the questions that we asked. We were looking at a couple of different models and they were even willing to be patient for us. They have excellent prices. My wife was working with her and she asked how the sales lady felt about nine hundred for the stove and she went back to the books and came back with eight fifty. They are probably one of the lowest priced in the area.

Nebraska Furniture ordered the incorrect carpet initially but we caught the mistake and a correction was made before it became a problem. The estimator failed to accurately determine the correct type of carpet to be removed (glued versus jute backed). There was a 12 inch hole in the carpet he did not see. He also failed to correctly determine effort required on installing carpet on the steps. He ordered approximately 10 sq yards of excess carpet. This resulted in an estimate that was low by 10% and $180 of unused carpet. The customer service representative was unapologetic, rude, did not offer any responsibility for ordering too much carpet, a poor estimate but was demanding that I pay the difference or the work would stop. The installer was so embarrassed by the customer service agent he agreed to defer some of his charges. The installer was excellent, prompt and quality of workmanship was outstanding. Finally, the estimator allowed 2 days from start to finish. Within 2 minutes, the installer said it would take 4 days of 12 hours.
Description of Work: Showed examples of carpet and pad, ordered carpet, estimated price & time for installation, (Nebraska Furniture Market) hired sub contractor to install and collected 100% of price one week before installation date.
