Arrived on time (8:00AM) They did not have the same smoke detectors I had in the house so one went out to buy the same smoke detectors while the other worked on the outside light above the garage. They finished the job in less than 2 hours and they were professional and friendly. Thanks Scott and Mark.
Description of Work: Replaced 3 smoke detectors, 1 light switch, and an outside security light.

It started 18 months ago when I have AES come out and do an estimate. We had some family issues come up. When I got back to doing the work, Shasa in the office was able to find the estimate and it was still good. Monday they arrived as expected. We did an overview of what I wanted and where I wanted it. They spent two days cutting holes, bending conduit, running wires and putting in plugs, switches and lights (only wires in wet bar). They worked two full days.
Description of Work: Over two days, Jasonn and Dave addes a service box (drilling through the concrete wall, running conduit outside, then drilling back in to the new service box),, ran 8 new circuits to our basement work area and a new wet bar with garbage disposal, ref, and microwave outlets. Upstairs they also added 3 additional ceiling lights. After the cabinents and tile work are finished for the wet bar, they will return and complete the switches and outlets.

Description of Work: We were having trouble with our electric stove - Sears claimed that we had a floating ground - and stated that we needed to have an electrician inspect the wiring. Everything checked OK - except that one of the leads in the main house panel would accept a very slight tightening. Apparently that did the trick as Sears was able to complete their trouble shooting at their visit.

Extremely well. They were on time, professional, exprienced and did everything they said they were going to do. I was very happy with Advanced Electrical Services.
Description of Work: Our bathroom light kept flickering on and off when we turned it on so I needed an electrician. I called Advanced Electrical Services, after I reviewed their ratings in Angie's List and ....everything was true. They are an outstanding company. They were able to fix the light (it was the light switch gone bad) and some other work I needed done to the same bathroom. Dan gave me a quote right on the spot; he was very professional; explained everything he was going to do and made me feel very comfortable. I was extremely happy that he showed up and that he was on time. I phoned another company before a phoned Advanced Electrical and they called me one hour before they were suppose to show up and canceled on me. I would highly recommended Advanced Electrical Services if you need an experience, reliable electrician.

After a minor miscommunication (they initially showed up at the wrong house), the AES team arrived. They were very polite and easy in which to converse. However, the disconnect (no pun intended) came when I received the written estimate. When I saw the amount, I countered by telling them another electrical vendor quoted me almost $1000 less for the same service. In response, one of the reps commented that they are a newer company and they had to consider their overhead... I replied by telling them that their overhead was not my primary responsibility, but theirs. I promptly but politely told them I wouldn't be using their services. They then offered to "match" the other vendor's quote (which served of no monetary benefit to me). In summary---nice guys, over-zealous pricing and very green on bidding/counteroffering skills. Left me with a sour first-time experience with AES. No deal.
Description of Work: I asked AES to provide a quote to update an electrical service panel and bring external wiring up to code.

Response from Advanced Electrical Services
Member, I am confused about this rating and response. I just got off the phone with your brother and he was wanting me to perform the work at a lower cost. He wanted me to quote him at the lower rate that you got from another company. I explained we match prices so we can clean up the bootleggers and moonlighters who price low and do it on the side. These guys will give you a low price but never put it in writing because they are illegally working with out a licence and insurance. I pay a lot of money to keep my contractors licence, insurance and bonding up to date. This is the reason my prices are higher. We do not compete with individuals who are not running a legitimate business. The inspectors work with me on this program to identify the underground bootleggers who are doing things out of code and not permitted. I will not apologize for my pricing as we use a national standard pricing and are confident that our pricing is very competitive. To find someone that is less than half of my price then want me to match the price because you could not remember who quoted it and lost the original quote tells me that the person quoting the job is not a business. I hope you can get the project done but we stand behind our prices and ethics. We do great work at a reasonable price. Unfortunately it may be a higher price than the company or individual that might have phone quoted the job and never looked at the project. We know exactly what it takes to do the project and that is what we quoted you. I hope that you update your review to be more accurate. Anthony was not aware you gave this review and apologized.

We based our decision to hire Advanced Electrical Services solely on the reviews they had garnered on Angie's List. Sasha, who answered my telephone call, was polite and professional. I had to reschedule the initial appointment due to an overlooked conflict and she was able to accommodate my request. Sasha told me that I would be given an estimate before any work was started. I was not, and when I inquired about it was told that what I needed to have done could be accomplished in the first billable hour. The two young men who came to our home to complete the work could use a few lessons in professional demeanor - introduce yourself, don't make snide comments about the situation to your colleague when the home owner is in earshot, clean up after yourselves and check again, and don't assume that you may take the old fixture and bulbs without asking permission. I would use this company again because I feel that the work was performed to specifications, but I think I would request different service technicians.
Description of Work: Remounted two porch lights to be flush with wall, took down old fixture over garage and mounted new light.

Member, I am sorry that you had a bad experience and have looked into the reasons went so bad. I want to let you know that the core values of AES are to give you the best, fastest service with no surprises and it seems like this was not the case on your project. I do not accept that you were not told about pricing or that we were anything but profesional. We have made corrections in management and training to make sure this does not happen again. I apologize to the member. I completely understand her disappointment. We were not able to find a correct phone number or e-mail address to notify her of a scheduling emergency, and the need to postpone her appointment. I feel very bad about not being able to get in touch with her. This is NOT how we do business. If she had mentioned to me that she was an Angie's List customer, perhaps we could have contacted Angie's List and asked them to help us contact her. We deeply regret these circumstances, and strive to not let that happen. I hope our other testimonials will reveal our true reliability and professionalism.

From start to finish Advanced Electrical Service were pros. From the first contact with the office manager Sasha, to the technicians that did all the hard work, John and Justin, I was VERY satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend Advanced Electrical Service to anyone who asks. Sasha always keep me updated with the status of our project and was always courteous and professional, and John and Justin worked as hard as any contractor I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. John and Justin both put in 11 plus hour days for two days in a row to ensure everything was done right and on time. I asked them to come back to check on an issue I was having with a light in the garage and they responded immediately and corrected the problem with the utmost of concern, care, and professionalism. Again...I can not say enough how pleased I was with AES's service.
Description of Work: Advanced Electrical Service (AES) did a ton of work on our home. The main reason for us to hire an electric company was to install a heating/air conditioner unit (PTAC Unit) in our garage to keep it cool in the very hot and humid Nebraska summers, and to keep it warm in the very cold Nebraska winters. We figured since we were going to have them out there, they may as well do some other upgrades as well. Not only did they install the PTAC unit, the installed a 60 amp sub panel in the garage to power everything, they upgraded the electrical in the garage to add 4 GFIC outlets since the garage originally only had one outlet. They also upgraded the 3 small 100w bulbs to 6 double florescent fixtures, added a cable outlet in the garage, and upgraded the motion sensor that turns the lights on and off in the garage as well. In addition, they added a cable outlet in the finished basement and 2 GFIC power outlets in a large storage room the didn't have any power outlets. Finally, they upgraded 4 room ceiling fans so that we were able to select fan speed or light individually from the wall switches instead of having to use the fan pull strings all the time.

This review is late but I had to write it. This was one of the best experiences I have had with someone doing work at my home. The owner of this company came when he said he would. He did the work I needed done but most importantly I felt I was dealing with an honest person and company. After a previous nightmare of an experience with Gatchell Electric I had my doubts about calling anyone but I would highly recommend Masters Electric. The job may only have involved adding electrical outlets for 2 new garage door openers but he answered all my questions and was very professional. The cost of the work was also very reasonable and I did not get charged for him simply coming to my home ( I did get other bids and this company was the best).

I had called them out on a Sunday, and they were able to come out because it was an emergency call up. That was excellent, but for the amount of work they had done, their pricing was exorbitant. They charged me $225 just to ring the doorbell. As much as I appreciate them for coming out to the house and getting us going again, $225 was very expensive. In addition to that, they charged me another $125 to replace the ceramic pull switch base, which is available at Home Depot or Lowe’s for less than $10. So, they charged me $350 to come out to the house, and in literally five minutes, take two screws out, untwist two wires, and put the new ceramic base in with two wires and two screws. That was basically a rip off, I had no choice but to pay it, because my tenant is sixty nine years old and she needs oxygen to sleep with, and she needs electricity. I discussed the pricing with them, and they were adamant that their pricing was legitimate, fair and whatever, and they offered to inspect the electrical system in the rest of the house for free. I agreed to it so that we don’t have an emergency situation again. I paid them the $350 and they came back another day, inspected the house, and they said there was nothing basically wrong in the house, but there were a number of things that should be or could be updated. They gave me an estimate for $3630. They gave me a quote to add a smoke detector in the basement and interconnect it with the one on the main floor. Right now, the house has one smoke detector, and they wanted to add a second one. They were going to interconnect them between the floors, and they wanted $523 for that. We all know that we can go to Target or Walmart or any store and buy a smoke detector for $20 or less. These guys wanted to basically take a $20 smoke detector and interconnect the two smoke detectors together. Why would anybody spend $523 to do that, when they could obviously operate perfectly fine independently, and not cost more than $20. I have been renting houses for over twenty years, and I have seen this a lot, where the contractors all of a sudden double or triple their pricing when they find out that it is an investment property. Nobody in their right mind would pay $523 to add one smoke detector. Another thing on the estimate was the GSPI, the house is thirty years old and there are a number of outlets in the house that need to be updated. They quoted me $77apiece for nine GSPI, a total of $693, that’s ridiculous. I can go to any major store and get a GSPI outlet for less than $10. They also said that the main breaker box should be moved as it is down there in the same room behind the water heater and the washer dryer, it should be moved to the garage. In a new home, that’s where they would place it, but this is a thirty year old home, it has been grandfathered, and it didn’t need to be moved. But they said it had to be moved and they gave me wrong information. Every time a home sells in the neighborhood, they are not making the people move their breaker boxes. They quoted me $2300 to move the breaker box to the garage. That is wrong, I know the house, and I am absolutely positive that if the house is grandfathered, the breaker box does not have to be moved, that’s a major job. I am not going to spend $2300 doing that, if it doesn’t need to be done. When I asked them about it, they said that the house is thirty years old, these boxes wear out, it will start giving problems and I would have to replace it anyway. That’s a bunch of bunk, I know many people living in homes that are forty to sixty years old, and their breaker boxes have never worn out to the point that they basically have to change the whole box and breakers. They see that I am a landlord, I own the house, it’s an investment property, and they are just trying to squeeze a whole lot of money into their pockets, by quoting these exorbitant prices. If they are out there just trying to take advantage of people, that is wrong, it is unprofessional, and their pricing is ridiculous.
Description of Work: We called Advanced Electrical Services because we had a blown main breaker fuse in our rental house. The tenant who was staying in the house, had been to the basement, and when she pulled the chain to put on the overhead light, the main breaker tripped. The pull switch was faulty, and it caused the main breaker to trip, and power to the whole house went out.
