Repaired the 3-way light switch and explained reasons for concern. Also provided info on type of switch to look for if making future changes in the lights, as well as the types of bulbs to use. Provided estimate and immediately did the work on moving location of the exterior deck light. Cleaned up afterwards. All done in relatively short period

I had my siding replaced after a storm last year. One of the siding installers attached the cable box to the side of the house with a really long screw. This screw punctured the 220V line running to the air conditioner and was causing the breaker to trip intermittently when the A/C turned on. This was a problem because it was the middle of July and it was especially hot that weekend. I called a number of electricians and left messages on their answering machines, or with their answering service (it was Sunday). AES was the first to call back. The owner came out and took a look and found the root cause quickly. He quickly ran a temporary line to get our A/C working again. He left and sent one of his employees to run new conduit and a permanent line the next day (Monday). Finishing the job on Monday saved money because it was at a regular rate instead of a weekend rate. Both the owner and his employee were very professional and courteous and the work was completed quickly. I am unsure of how much the job cost because the siding company paid AES directly, but from a service standpoint I can definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: Replaced a 220V line from the breaker box to the air conditioning unit.

Great! I would definitely recommend them. They were punctual, professional, didn't try and sell us more than what we needed, gave good advice, and did good work. Made the space MUCH more user friendly, and most important, safe.
Description of Work: The theatre I was managing at the time is in an old building. Much of the basement had been lit and wired with extension cords, and the panels were outdated. They came in and rewired the basement, installed switches, new light fixtures, and new panels, and ran new power to some outlets upstairs. It was very labor intensive and a dirty job. We were very pleased with the work and their attitude. They worked with us very well.

Called for have battery changed to cathedral ceiling fire alarm detector due to beeping and flickering garage door switch. On phone told it would be $80. charge Charged $104. $29.00 travel and dispatch and $ 75 for labor. Spent 15 minutes total. Apprentice brought in ladder but did not have battery or was I told I needed to provide one for them to install before they came. I had to take a battery out of another room fire detector to use and install in cathedral ceiling.Other individual looked a switch and said it was not good and call garage door people. Charged $104 because that is their fee for an hour of work and the $80 dollars is only for coming to diagnois the problem. Total time of service 15 minutes.

Very pleased. Contacted me thru Angie's list quickly. Came out and gave a bid when they said they would. ($3500 job and was inline with all other bids.) Decision to use was based on ifI liked working with the lead electrician. Scheduled quickly. On time for the service work and got it done very, very professionally. Neatest electrical job I have had - didn't have to ask them to clean up or make everything neat. Have scheduled 3 other service items to have completed. Highly recommend.

This entire project was quick, simple, and professionally done from beginning to end. Toby Sommers (the owner of AES) came out and helped me determine the correct size generator for our needs. He then contacted the local utilities dept and checked to make sure that our gas service would handle powering the generator. The generator and other supplies were ordered and when they came in a date was set for the installation. His workers were punctual, polite, and extremely professional. They completed the entire job in two days with a minimum of disruption to our life. They even brought a portable generator to run my wife's medical equipment while the power was turned off. This was truly a "one stop shopping experience". Advanced Electrical Services did the entire job including delivery, all electrical work, and the natural gas supply for the generator. I am totally satisfied with the quality of their work and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Dan called to let me know he was ahead of schedule and find out if it would be okay to come a half hour early. It was fine and he showed up right on time. I showed him the laundry list of items I needed to have done. He gave me the estimate which I approved. He had all the work completed in a little over 3 hours. He was courteous and professional. He even changed the light bulb over my basement stairs that had not worked since I bought the house 13 years ago! The only item he was not able to get done was to fix a doorbell. The company called me later that day to schedule the doorbell repair for a different time the following week. So far, everything has been wonderful, from Dan the electrician who came to my house, as well as Sasha who scheduled the appointments.

OK, but not great - First day rough in went fast and seemed great - Had to come back because they missed installing one outlet, accidentally took my extension cord, and ran some wires in the closet outside the studs so I couldn't install sheetrock - Installed one can light in the wrong place (right in front of the TV mount, and out of line from the 4 others in a straight row), had them remove it, and they insisted for charging me 1/2 price for their mistake, but would not leave the can light (70.00) so I paid 35.00 for their mistake - When sheetrock started, one can light too close to a pole to do sheetrock, which forced me to move 4 myself to keep them all in a straight line (NOTE: they chose where to put the can lights, I did not, we only discussed generally) - Cut a hole in the sheetrock then decided they didn't need to, left it - When they wired the storage room light, they disconnected the original light, but didnt wire the new circuit due to required inspection, so I had no lights in the furnace/storage area for the remaining time until we finished all the pre-inspection work - Original quote was for a lighted switch, for closet, workers "forgot" - Between rough in and finish work, I installed fluorescent bulbs in the can lights, they took them all out and put them in a closet and gave me 12 incandescent bulbs, not sure why the extra effort, would have preferred a credit toward 12 bulbs, but the workers cannot authorize anything like that and home office not worth dealing with after the bad can light issue - One odd thing is workers will ask for check but not give you receipt. Works out fine, but odd to hand a check without some sort of receipt. Takes a day or two to see what they are charging you and it applied to your account Overall not a bad job, I got pretty much what I asked for except the can light baloney, but seems like the workers go a little too fast and don't think about their actions. Best I could give them was a B, but it may lean closer to a C due to lack of leadership after the initial quote, but it is too bad because their responsiveness would have given them good grades but all the minor mistakes added up. I would probably not use them again.

We have an older home. Apparently we blew a circuit breaker when we plugged in a space heater. Advanced Electric Services immediately diagnosed the situation, replaced the proper tandem breaker and explained what to do in future cases to prevent overloads. Jimmy Rice was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and got the work done quickly. He didn?t try to sell any other products or services. He completed the work that needed to be done quickly and it was done right. We will use Advanced Electrical Services in the future and will recommend to our family and friends.

Dan showed up right on time and after going over everything that needed to be done Dan got right to work. Replaced the A/C amp that was too high, mounted TV to the wall and connected the cable to the cable box. He had to drill a hole in the wall but asked if that was ok, it was. There was some unused cables and an outlet from a TV wall mount in the dinning room that was not going to be used so he took those out so now I can patch those instead of having metal plate covering them. All went great there is still another full day of work that needs to be done and I'm hoping that Dan is the one to come back. When Dan left on Monday he made sure that he cleaned up after his work and did a great job. Made sure I was happy with what he accomplished so far was I was very pleased. Dan was the one to come back on Thursday, there was a time delay due to the amount of work that needed to be and before they scheduled Thursday appointment they made sure that waiting a few days for Dan to come back was going to be ok. It was. Dan bought a helper with him Mark. They started in right away and knocked out the rest of the list. There was a ceiling fan that I wanted installed with a switch for the light that would dim and one for the fan. Dan informed me that this could be a problem only because the ceiling was lattes and plaster and due to the age of the house the plaster would just crumble. He showed me how it would crumble since the light was down and the plaster was just crumbling in his fingers. He suggested that I get a ceiling fan with a remote control which would dim the light, very the speed of the fan and not worry about those chains hanging from the fan. I liked this plan so once I pick up a remote control ceiling fan I will call Advanced Electrical services back to install the fan. Once all the work was completed he and Mark cleaned up after themselves then showed me regarding the bill how the installation of the fan was subtracted from the bill and it would be a new work order once I get the new ceiling fan. All in all I'm very happy with this company and in the future I know who I will be calling from my electrical needs.
Description of Work: Breaker for the A/C was over sized that needed to conform to code. Missing ground jumper wire at water meter. GFI outside was not tripping and needed a new cover. Move a Chandler from the living room to the dining room. Removed unused electrical cables from the wall where a TV use to be. Mounted a TV in the basement and snaked cables through the wall to the cable box. Replaced 7 outlets with old and outdated outlets.

I had an electric stove but wanted to convert over to gas. I had a gas line installed by my plumber and the stove was delivered. THe saleperson had forgot to ask me if I had a 110 outlet nearby and I didn't realize I needed one since previously stoves have always been in place in the places I lived. I called AES on May 30th because I needed the correct outlet installed and I'd found them here on Angie's List. They told me they could come out the following Monday, which I loved. I believe the guy that came was named Jason. He explained that no rewiring was necessary, he only needed to change the breaker and put it the correct outlet. I was thrilled because I thought it would be more extensive than this. He even left me the 220 outlet in case it was ever needed (I'll leave it when I sell the house). He even helped make sure the stove was pushed in all the way since the delivery guys did not do this. He was even careful enough to put a towel down on the floor to ensure that the floor wouldn't be scratched when he moved the stove in and out. I've been trying to find an electrician in case I need anything else done around the house and now I know thanks to Angie's List I have found one!

Scott and Jason arrived on time, put on "footies," and reviewed what needed to be done. Scott had originally bid more eave lights in the front, but after exploring the area, he realized that our brick extended too far into the area and when our shingles were replaced later in the summer, then the lights could be plumbed in. Scott kept us informed with suggestions and alternatives and solutions during this phase. The lights in the backyard went in with no problem. They then hung the tv efficiently and cleaned up thoroughly after installation. Scott even used a brush around the baseboard to capture any dust. The one thing that will keep us using Advanced is the receptiveness of Scott Glover. He listens to what we want and gives his professional advice throughout in an intelligent and respectful manner. This guy knows his stuff and gives outstanding customer service.

Scott came out and talked to me about what I wanted to have done and to write up an estimate. He arrived on time and was very well informed, professional and easy to talk to. I was at work when the installation took place but my wife was home with our toddler. We'd arranged for the power to be off during a certain window and I assume that the power was out only during that time frame because my wife said that everything went fine. There was a ridge of soil left in the yard where the line was buried and I'm having a heck of a time trying to flatten part of it out (the other part of it has actually collapsed in on itself creating a shallow depression). I would have reduced my ratings for the company but I probably should have realized something like this was going to be left behind and addressed it with Scott when he was over to give me the estimate. On a side note: Talking to Scott Glover when he came to give the estimate I learned his business, Masters Electric, was bought out by Advanced Electrical Services the week before Scott Glover did the work at my house (if I'm remembering our conversation correctly). I believe he owned and operated Masters as a one-person business but then sold his company to whoever owns Advanced since Scott was more interested in doing the electrical work and the owner of Advanced was more interested in running a business. In other words, if you're considering hiring Advanced Electrical to do your work for you, you can research reviews of Masters Electric and know that, if you get Scott (and I think he's the only electrician at Advanced), you'll be getting the electrician that was reviewed by people who had Masters do their work for them. (And that although Masters Electric isn't around anymore, the master himself is still available for hire.) *I should probably also mention that Scott told me that Advanded Electrical's owner prices things differently than Scott did when he ran his own company.

Scott showed up on time for the estimate and provided a prompt and fair evaluation of the job to be done. Once I committed, Sasha at the office made sure the dates were firmed up and the two electricians arrived on the desired date at the desired time. Justin and Mark were terrific. Polite, professional, and engaged from start to finish with the job. Kept me informed of what was going on and of options available and to be considered. On completion of the job, Justin and Mark cleaned up any mess that had been made and ensured all the loose odds and ends were picked up and discarded properly. Couldn't ask for better service. I would highly recommend Advanced Electrical Services to anyone desiring electrical work done on their home. Great company and great service.

We purchased this house a little over a year ago. We noticed some weird things with electrical, and decided that some items needed a licensed electrician to repair. The person who supplied the estimate arrived when he said. During the walk-through, he noticed a couple of things that weren't on our detailed list and said that they would do that work at no additional cost since we were having so much work done. He estimated 2 days worth of work. A detailed estimate was delivered via email shortly after. We emailed back with 3 possible dates and they could be here within 2 weeks. The two electricians arrived on the first day and walked through the house to get the lay of the land. They quickly went to work and finished most of the big items on the first day. They didn't have a ladder with them that was tall enough to reach our vaulted ceiling to replace the ceiling fan, but a short while later another person brought the taller ladder. They returned on the second day and finished before noon. They were respectful and worked diligently. They needed a vacuum with more power to clean up ;-), but it wasn't a big deal to run our vacuum. Their parts and labor has a 1 year warranty, and there is a 3 year warranty on panel & service upgrades. If we would ever need electrical work done again, we would certainly contact Advanced Electrical Services!
Description of Work: 4 new outlets installed in basement, 3 on separate circuit breakers; 2 new outlets in the garage; removed 2 light fixtures and 1 fan to install 3 ceiling fans with lights, including new switch leg for light and fan; new exhaust fan in master bath and new switch; corrected two 3-way light switches that were wired incorrectly; installed all new smoke detectors (heard that we should do that every 10 years on a news program); replaced light over shower in master bath; moved light switch in guest bedroom from behind the door to where it could be reached when entering the room; replaced one GFCI outlet; replaced 1 light switch that cut out when wiggled;
