All About Garage Doors

Went as expected. Technician showed up to adjust and lube garage doors per the "Angie List" special offering. Of course the tension spring adjustment was not included so there was an upcharge. Work was done well and without mess. The door seems to make more noise now than it did before, but it is functioning properly. Also, from the time I called to schedule an appointment, it took about 10 days to get a technician.

Technician was extraordinarily polite, prompt and proactive in terms of his advice on a future service need.

The provider was punctual and performed the job fast and efficiently. When I had a concern about a garage door noise, they even came back out to see if they could remedy.

I have been dreading opening and closing the garage door because I felt like everyone in the neighborhood could hear it. So when I saw this deal I was excited to know that there is a way to make the door quiet again. William was very prompt and professional. He worked on the door and then explained everything about our garage door to us. Our door is 26 years old and would not pass inspection if we sell the house and it has some other issues, but it works for now and it is as quiet as a new door. He left us a catalog of new doors and the name of the person to call if we are interested, but there was no pressure to buy.

Very happy with the work. The door is much quieter. The provider was very good at getting the work scheduled. He showed up on time with phone call notice. During the work, he was very professional and excellent to work with. Would use them again for any garage door issues.

Awesome! At 7:45am I realized that I couldn't get out of my garage. At 7:55am I called AAGD, got a very friendly and sympathetic person who had me scheduled between 11 and 1. Then William called and told me he'd be there at 10:30am. And he was. William was professional, polite, personable, and a bunch of other nice words that start with P.

We were very pleased. The technician notified us in advance he was on the way. He arrived when he said he would and completed the work quickly. He showed us the changes he made. We are very pleased and would recommend them.

The difference in sound of opening and close our garage door is AMAZING! Given the condition we thought our door was in, he could have had an easy path to saying major work was needed. On the contrary though - he inspected everything and tightened/aligned as necessary. William called on his way to our house and was prompt with the time they originally gave us for the appointment. Very professional and quick. He was in and out in 30-45 minutes and it is like having a brand new garage door. VERY HAPPY!

Installed new rollers. Oiled track. Adjusted track - this made a huge difference.It now opens and closely smoothly and much quieter.

Overall I'm not pleased with my experience with All About Garage Doors. I was basically forgotten after they came out to provide an estimate on my garage door. My garage door closed on top of my car recently, of course no fault of my own as the door did it all by itself, and I bent the metal bar connecting the garage door opener to the door. Result: Door still opened and closed but would always stop 2 inches off the ground. I'm sure that's just enough space for a feral cat to take up residence in my garage during my work hours so I decided to call for an estimate on getting the garage door section repaired. I found All About Garage Doors first and they had good ratings so I gave them a call to ask about an estimate. The guy on the phone was polite and he was able to fit me in for an appointment quickly so I consider that a win. And the technician showed up at my house on time. 2 for 2! So the guy looks at my door and says he's not sure he can fix the bar that's bent and recommends I replace the entire section of the door. So I ask the next logical question, "How much?" and he gives me a ballpark. It's admittedly higher than I was expecting to pay. It's not that I don't love my garage door and I'm trying to be cheap. It's just I was hoping to spend some of that money on other luxuries in life...like food. But I figure, it's my garage door. It's depending on me for shelter, food, entertainment....no wait, sorry I'm thinking of something else. Anyway, I asked the technician if he could go run some numbers and get back to me on replacing the section for my particular door, or one that looks pretty much the same so I can fool my HOA. I get a call back later that day (super fast service!) and the guy ont he phone - who's a different guy from the technican who came to my house - says for the money I'd be spending to get a replacement section, I can just pay a teeny, tiny, totally negligible bit more - I'm paraphrasing here - and get a brand spanking new, INSULATED (yep, my current door's not...I know, lame) garage door. All this sounds like a steal - mostly - but I start thinking again about those other niceties I'd like....food did come to mind again. And I decided it's not worth the money right now. I ask if the guy could just ask the technician if he can come out and try really hard to fix the "ol faithful" lame door I have - paraphrasing again. He says, yep! And I'm thinking I'm going to get a call back to schedule a time. What do I get? Radio silence...no static, no nothing. And this continues for days! Like they completely forgot. Or maybe the guy was p***** off I didn't bite on the super awesome new door? I haven't the slightest idea. Either way, I still haven't heard back from anyone and rather than call them back and bug them I decided to call someone else. The tech wasn't even sure that the metal bracket could be fixed on my existing door so why bother calling them back to bug him about it. Overall, they were really nice and helpful on the phone and polite in person but I did feel like there was a bait and switch moment with the offering for a new door and, like I said, I heard nada from them after I didn't take that offer. If anyone's curious about me personally, I did get my garage door fixed. Yep, my existing, NON INSULATED, trusty little garage door. Fixed like new. And it was an awesome experience from another company I found here on Angie's List. I wrote a review for them as well if you're interested but I won't name them here since this review's not about them.

This was an easy process. We set an appointment from AL, and they came out and performed work in under 30 minutes. garage door is silent again.

Fantastic - they showed up on time with a pre-call to let me know the 20 minute window. He was very professional and got the checkup done in less than a 1/2 hour. Everything was oiled and ready to go. When I asked about the sensors, we looked at them together and decided that my "duct tape upgrade" on them would be better served with a replacement part that he had on the truck. Learned about how I should maintain the door since we hadn't done anything since moving in 10 years prior.
