I contacted RJ's on July 30, 2013, and requested a service call because the air conditioner was not cooling. Bryan Adams was able to come that day, and I had a proposal to replace the unit, and the gas furnace, that evening. Our systems were 18 years old, so I gave them the approval. Work was scheduled for August 6, 2013. In the meantime, RJ's came out and coaxed my current unit into cooling until the replacement. If not, they had promised window air units until the 6th. You don't mind waiting as long as you're cool. On the 6th, Jason and Jamie appeared promptly at 8 a.m., and everything was installed by that evening. Carpets were covered with drop clothes, and booties were worn in the house. When they cleaned up that evening, they vacuumed where they had worked. Both installers worked hard all day, and were extremely professional. The old units were removed and disposed of by them also. The inspection went well, and we are now enjoying our purchase. I would highly recommend RJ's!

duct work was the hardest, they went under the house removed all the 35 year old ducts and replaced them with new ducts. The tested each vent in the house to ensure proper seal. Took 3 days and went on schedule

Provider was very thorough, explained function of programable thermostat thoroughly, gave advice on improving effiecency of units, pumped out standing water in upstairs HVAC unit where slant of drip pan was preventing outflow, fixed angle to prevent water collection in the future. Was very friendly and personable. Raked debris away from units. The cost was for our service contracts offered by RJS, which includes twice per year service evaluations of our 2 units and dehumdifier. I was very impressed with the work, friendliness, and personality of our service provider, Kevin.

I thought their prices were a bit on the high side. They were very professional and their explanation of product and the rest was excellent. They did a good job. They were here when they said they would be and they did everything they said they would. The only thing I didn't like was that their price was a little high so I didn't go with them.

I recently purchased ths home and knew that the heat pump was low on refrigerant and likly had a leak. I found a discount deal through Angie's list for an inspection of the system offered by RJS Heating and Air Conditioning. I purchased the deal and the same day the dispatcher for RJS contacted me and set up an appointment for the spring inspection of my heat pump. The technician called me the day of the appointment and told me he was on his way. He arrived right on time, inspected the system thoroughly and found a problem. I needed to replace the system as it was 15 years old and would just continue to have problems. A couple of days later the salesman from RJS called and came to the house to talk about the replacement. I had him email me several proposals. I did not use them to replace the unit for several reasons. However I would use them again for service.

From the start they were on time, did what they said they would do. Gave instructions on how the system worked and the new thermostat. The cleanup was great, I did not have to do a thing. Great company.

They were really good and fast. They didn't find anything wrong so there was no additional charge. I was happy with their service.

It went well. They arrived on time, prepared, pleasant and efficient. Since they were repairing someone else's errors you can imagine my skepticism. This was the primary reason I joined Angie's List and called this company which sscored high marks.

According to my property manager the process went great.

The plumber called earlier in the day and came earlier that expected. That was so great. They were very knowledgeable and explained in detail the removal and replacement of the 50 gal water heater. They were quick and nice. They also fixed my leaky kitchen faucet at no extra charge. They spilled some rust on the carpet and a rug as they removed the old tank but immediately cleaned it right up. Just loved them!

Technician (Kevin) was very punctual and professional. As he inspected the system, he explained what he was doing as he was doing it, and giving helpful care tips as he went along. At my request, he installed a digital thermostat. Also at my request, he explained and established a maintenance agreement. Excellent work!

Just in from summer vacation, I arrived to an unair-conditioned home. Needless to say, I felt I needed another vacation! A vacation from a hot home. Fortunately, RJS was literally across the street servicing one of the elderly homeowners in my neighborhood. Paul was very professional asking me to call into the office to speak with Nicole. Nicole rapidly scheduled me in. I am a repeat customer but this is the first timelooking up the service provider on "Angie's List." I am pleased that other customers rated this company's service superior, giving me an opportunity to consider using RJS again.

We are from Pennsylvania on vacation on North Carolina. RJS sent Paul (on call Technician) out to repair our central A/C unit. Paul explained all prices in advance. Paul quickly diagnosed the problem, (inoperative capacitor) replaced the capacitor, tested the A/C, tested the refrigerant charge and cleaned our condenser drain. He explained the bill and recomended a service plan( which i recommend). We are completely satisfied with the service, and expertise displayed by Paul.

Our relatively new (less than 3 years old) packaged AC/Heating unit was not blowing cool air. The service technician was able to come out the following day and arrived right on time, was professional and courteous.. I appreciate the fact that he provided us an estimate of the cost to add additional refrigerant prior adding, and was upfront about the additional cost to perform a leak test necessary to further diagnose the problem. The technician was able to get the unit back in working order and provided an unofficial, rough estimate, of the cost to have the unit permanently repaired. I was contacted the following day by the office and received a full estimate over the phone and also provided, via email, a breakdown of each associated cost. I will be scheduling the repair service with RJS as soon as the part arrives from the AC manufacturer and expect that the future service will continue to be professional and timely.

Their service was excellent, as always! I would use them again in the future.

Our outside AC unit was not running at all, only the inside fan worked. We looked up RJS on Angie's list and contacted them about the problem. The office person was very friendly. A technician was out that afternoon. He brought a trainee with him. They were able to determine the problem in approximately 10 mins and had the part replaced within another 20, all that with a trainee. He explained what the problem was (the replaced part was a capacitor, not sure of the spelling) before fixing it. We felt the price was reasonable and we were cooled down within an hour. Would definitely recommend them to others!

They have been very good. They are very dependable. They did a really good job. My husband thinks they did. The system is working well and that is what one would look for. It was a tremendous expense for such a system but they were competitive. We had a neighbor that used them and they were pleased, that is why we used them. My overall experience with them was excellent, because not one thing with them went wrong. We have a thermostat that they put in. The only problem with it is that the reading temperature does not really reflect what the outdoor temperature is so we called them out to check it. They moved the center around and afterwards, it is still about ten degrees off. For instance, today in Bloomington, its 40 something and it reads 60. It just jumps around. I don’t know why they didn’t replace it. They might have replaced it, I don’t really know. Even if they have, I think that the product is a failure. It just does not accurately work as it should but everything else about it works. I can range the thermostat and get it to come on a certain time, all that works but that one thing about it does not work still. However, they have been very responsive. My husband says that if everything else works about it, they might not come out here anymore for that. Their prices were not the least of the estimates we got. Their quality is excellent though. We would absolutely use them in the future.

I have used this company, RJS, previous to this purchase and installation for sporadic service on our old unit and was always pleased with their service and pricing. When it came time to replace our 26 year old heat pump, naturally I wanted to get an estimate for replacement from them. The owner, who is also the president of the company, came to measure our space requirements for a new unit, present the available options, discuss pricing, time limits, and available rebates and federal tax credits. She totally made us feel at ease and presented the material and answered all of our questions in a very professional way. We did not feel one bit pressured ! After weighing all of our options and looking at the other estimates we had received, we felt most comfortable going with RJS because of the quality of the equipment they offer, the reliability of the company, and also because we felt they were the most honest and professional company we received estimates from. On the scheduled day of the installation the two service techs arrived punctually and proceeded to get right to work removing the old equipment and installing the new. They had the area cleaned up and the new heat pump up and running within 5 hours! We are very pleased with the new heat pump! Everything the owner told us about the equipment, from how quiet it is to how much more efficient it is, is true. We couldn't be more pleased and would definitely recommend RJS!

They come out every year to service my unit. They installed my unit several years ago. Their price is reasonable and they provide prompt service. I have asked them for a quote to replace my unit, but I have got quotes from many others as well.

Since my unit is new the service call was under warranty. They are my guys and I will continue to use them in the future.

I interviewed 3 companies and got their estimates. All offered solutions in the same price ranges (8-10K) for what I wanted. The first thing that differentiated RJS was that the evaluation and offerings were presented by the President of the company, Rhonda Reuter. She is not only technically competent and understands all aspects of the equipment and the project, but she also explains everything clearly, straightforwardly and with minimal 'sales' speak. Above all, she listens intently and remembers everything we discussed, including even that we had company in the house on day 1. The communication throughout the company is exceptional. The crew knew what I had talked to the President about, the boss knew what I had talked to the crew about, and Rhonda checked in with us each day. The removal of the old equipment and installation of the new went perfectly from my perspective; the crew was experienced, professional, courteous and thorough and briefed me on all aspects of progress. They worked smart and were incredibly responsive. Finally, cleanliness--no one from the company comes in the house without booties to protect from tracking dirt inside...ever! A small point, but it is indicative of the total professional approach RJS has. One other thing: financing. The major system RJS uses approved my financing on the spot. The interest rates were very nice and it was great to know we were a go from the moment we made the buy decision. These folks are incredible! I have found my Heat/AC company! Call them, you will be glad you did.

I decided to replace my HVAC, which included a 30 year old air handler and very leaky duct work, to take advantage of the tax credits. Although RJS priced a bit higher than the other companies I got quotes from, they provided the most complete and detailed quote I had seen. Plus it was provided quickly (other companies took almost a week). All of my questions were answered promptly and thoughtfully. They genuinely seem to care about their customers. The workers were very considerate and knowledgeable. With the duct work, the entire installation took 1.5 days, but I thought the installation was done well and efficiently. I am happy with the equipment and the company and will use them again in the future.
