Description of Work: My garage door just died one day. Powers Garage came out on a Friday and tried to fix it but it was completely gone. He then came back on Saturday morning and installed an new garage door. It works great and this pregnant momma was happy to have a working garage door again!

Description of Work: Mr. Powers showed up on time. Investigated the problem of my remote not working. He seemed knowledgeable about garage doors in general and tried a couple of things before determining it was a bad board in the motor assembly. He replaced the motor assembly. Everything was done professionally and quickly. I have not had any problems since and the new motor is much quieter than the old one.

 + -1 moreThe technician came over, showed me that the secondary cable was ready to break also. Also recommended that we change the roller wheels from steel to nylon for better operation. He put the door back on the tracks, tuned everything including the garage door motor. I was very happy with his work and the time it took to fix the door. I would definitely use his company again and recommend him to others.

 + -1 moreDiscovered that I could not open my garage door and noticed that one of the coil springs was broken. I located Powers Garage Door Co. in the yellow pages, and called them. The gentleman who answered the phone told me that the business was his son's, and that he would have his son call me right back. I received the call back within five minutes. Mr. Powers asked me about my location and a description of my garage door, then gave me an estimate site unseen and said that he could be at my home sometime between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm that afternoon. Mr. Powers arrived by 2:30 pm and immediately started to work. Within 30 minutes he had removed, replaced and adjusted both coil springs. The garage door has worked well since, in fact even more smoothly than before the original coil spring broke.

 + -1 moreThey used double-layered vinyl with insulation. It works so well that we noticed it maintained a temperature of about 60 degrees in the winter. The new door is much nicer than the old one and I know the vinyl will hold up well to the weather.

 + -1 moreThey made an appointment, but were not clear that it was only to measure the opening. They were almost four hours late, quickly measured, and left. They came back a week later to install the new door and replace the rails. They were two hours late in arriving. They worked quickly and the door seemed in good shape. The house was being prepared for new tenants to arrive that day, but they still lit up and smoked in the garage. They initially refused to re-attach the opener to the door and remarked that that was not their problem. After some prodding, they did reattach the opener, but did not reprogram (even though they had the manual) the opener, leaving the door to essentially be open and closed by hand only. The new tenants were not happy and we had to call another company to reprogram the opener.
Description of Work: A faulty garage door opener crushed my aluminum garage door. I purchased a new garage door through Lowe's and they sub-contracted with Powers Garage Door to install the new door, reconnect the door to the opener, and reprogram the opener. I was very clear with the three issues from the beginning.
