They did a great job with the installation. Had a few small holes in one of the screens and they put in a temp. door. The door came in and they installed it and repaired the screen.

Porch Conversions did an outstanding job with conversion of a screen porch into a 4 season room. The workmanship is perfect. Communication throughout the entire process is the finest I've experienced! These folks truly understand their prospects and their customers!! From the first meeting with Alex -- he was heads above the 2 other organizations we spoke with. His product knowledge and ability to pace the conversation as we directed the was so appreciated. Being the 3rd time we'd done a conversion, we knew what we wanted and Alex helped point out a couple of changes that would enhance the room. HE WAS RIGHT! The demolition and construction process was exceptionally smooth....and CLEAN! Porch Conversions communication via phone and email ....every step of the way was prompt, helpful (working through an the HOA process) and friendly. This has been the very best home construction project we have ever done. We highly recommend Alex...and the entire team at Porch Conversions - Wilmington NC.

Scott has a great crew that WILL NOT disappoint! From day one Porch Conversions was top notch in professionalism, value of product, and cost. We worked with Scott and his crew to figure out exactly what we needed, they were able to make some last minute adjustments to help us ensure everything was up to code on the back of our house, and they went above and beyond to erect a top quality product for a price that others can't compete with. I would take their suggestion and pay the small additional amount to get the Eze-Breeze system, which is hurricane proof and comes with a warranty they will back up. Thanks guys for your hard work! To all of those prospective individuals looking for a screened in porch I would recommend that you look no further and have Porch Conversions build your porch!! Regards, Ryan & Crystal Domack

Both the salesman, Andy, and the installer, Joe, were very professional. The installation team worked as a team and it was obvious that they knew what they were doing. There was a miscommunication between the salesman and the installer however. The parts arrived on time but they were the wrong color. The salesman apologized.

Once they got started the work and quality was excellent. Promised to finish in eight weeks after signing of contract. We signed the contract on April 15, 2015 and they finished on August 27,2015. They did not even start for ten weeks, then it took them until August 27, 2015 to finish. However once the project got started I found out that the Contractor had to have server surgery that cause the delay of the work.

The guys arrived early on a Tuesday (around 7:30) to begin the 3 day process. They matched the color of our home (dark brown) exactly. Clayton and ? (sorry forgot his name) were both great at getting the job down and keeping us informed of the process. The room looks exactly what we visioned. Highly recommend PorchConversions!
Description of Work: We contacted PorchConversions about 6 weeks ago concerning the installation of a screened in porch to our existing patio. Scott contacted the day, arrived promptly, and outlined the exacted plans we were looking for with this new addition to our Carolina Room and home. We wished it didn't 6 weeks to get the job done, but glad to see that they are in such demand.

The entire process went smoothly and the professionalism and quality was fantastic. The salespeople (Alex and Paul) that came to my home offered 3 options and showed us the benefits of each type of window. We decided to purchase the 4" wide system which was slightly more expensive but came with a lifetime glass guarantee and had a higher wind and thermal rating. The installation was started within the timeframe promised and dealing with the office personnel (Hilda) was a pleasant experience to schedule the start date and any questions that we had. The installation crew (Kyle and Walt) and the electrician ( Wes) completed the installation in just 2 days and did a great job with keeping the work area safe and cleaned up well at the completion. This weekend of rain has been a good test for the integrity of their work and there has been zero leakage. We are looking forward to enjoying this room year round. We highly recommend using Porch Conversions for all types of porch enclosures as it was a pleasure to work with highly professional craftsman and down to earth nice people. John & Kathy

We just built a new home and with all the contractors and subcontractors encountered in that process, Porch Conversions was the most professional, responsible, reliable and simply, the most pleasant, to work with. From entering the showroom through final installation, every member of their team not only displayed experience and knowledge but they were always appeared or sounded friendly and happy. Each person we encountered was a pleasure to deal with. We could not be happier with the final product as installed. In choosing the color for the framing, we came in with one idea and we are extremely glad that we were guided to another color. We now see that our original color would have been a mistake. When it came time to install the system, there were delays occasioned by others and Porch Conversion, who was ready to install when promised, was most accommodating in re-scheduling. Prior to the installation, we were provided with the name and photograph on the installer which provided an additional level of security. The installers arrived promptly and worked carefully. When it began to rain, instead of rushing to get the job completed and chancing that the rain would adversely affect the work, they packed up and returned the next day. Upon completion, we were given a demonstration on opening, closing and cleaning the enclosure. There were no extra or hidden charges and everything was explained from the outset. It is a shame that this is not a service that I can use over and over. We may have to go build another porch just so Porch Conversion can provide another enclosure.

It was a great experience. All the employees from the design coordinator Alex to the crew chief Travis were very professional and friendly. They were detailed in their explanantions and their work was exceptional. They provided all the info needed for our POA approval. In three days, we went from open air to a beautiful room. They cleaned up all the mess each day before they left. I would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to enclose a porch in this area. The prompt, friendly and professional staff made the process so much easier. The office also kept in contact throughout with calls and emails. They even sent a picture of the crew chief prior to coming so I would know who to expect. We are looking forward to a spring without all that pollen in our "outdoor" space but fresh air afterwards when we open those beautiful windows. It will also help with our heating costs in the winter with the extra insulation. Thank you Porch Conversions for our beautiful new room.

Right form the beginning, Porch Conversion came out and provided us a reasonable quote for converting our large screened in Florida Room to a 3 season room with sliding insulated glass windows (with screens) including a knee wall and electrical outlets. We were provided a written quote on the spot and within a few days after signing the contract provided detailed work plans for us to submit to our HOA. We scheduled the install and Porch Conversion completed the conversion in only 2 days. The workers were very professional, cleaned up at the end of the day and were very courteous. Customer service followed up with phones and email to assure we were happy with the results. We are thrilled with the results! We look forward to enjoying our converted Florida Room.

Porch Conversions are a "one stop" service company. Once we signed a contract, we never had to do anything else. PorchConversion obtained all necessary permits. Their personnel did, or supervised, all the work. The same fabrication crew was here everyday. They were punctual, consistent, skilled, and extremely professional. The only subcontractor was electrical; they completed installation of plugs in the new room and spotlights outside the new room. the work area was cleaned, everyday before they went home. When the new sliding door was installed, plastic sheeting was installed in the house, from floor to ceiling, to contain the dust. This kept the inside of our house dust free. Porch conversion also sent a photo of the crew chief, beforehand, to "introduce" him so we would know if he was the right person to be here. Kyle came to the door and introduced himself to us and told us what to expect over the coming days. A couple times, during the project, the "boss" came to do some quality checks and insure all was going well with the job, and make sure we were happy with how everything was going. the job was basically completed in the agreed upon time frame. The only delays were weather related, and delays due to building inspector sign offs. Dan Murray Deb Sullivan Southport, NC 28461

We contracted with PC to enclose the back screened porch so as to make it a true 4-seasons room. At time of signing the contract, estimated start date was after 1 January 2015. Imagine our surprise when PC called and said opening was available and could the work begin on December 17? My response: "Absolutely you may begin on the 17th!!" The 2 man crew arrived early on the 17th and by noon, they were finished. Awesome. The gentlemen were courteous, very organized, and thoroughly cleaned up after finishing. I did not find any debris at all. They checked and doubled checked the final installation to ensure that the sliding vertical windows worked properly and that the installed locking door functioned. Everything was sealed very well and tight. The glass is doubled paned and filled with low-e Argon gas for maximum insulating qualities. It is solidly built and does not shake, rattle, or have any unnecessary movement or play. Bottom line: It is tight as a tick! I highly recommend these folks.

This company was great to work with. With the estimate, we were given a timeline of 7-8 weeks before the prefabricated materials would be available. They beat that timeline by several weeks! All construction was complete within a week once they began. Very tidy and neat at the end of the day. The porch looks like it was built at the same time as the house. Would certainly use them again.

I called to request an estimate and the owners came to my house to give me the estimate. They took measurements and explained the whole process to me. They were very charming and were not in a rush. They understood my concerns and gave me time to think about it. I waited a few weeks to make my decision, and I finally decided to go with them. I do not regret using their company as the whole process went very smooth. Everyone was very attentive to my needs and wants. The whole crew was very professional and polite. After the job was completed they got in contact with me to make sure that I was satisfy with how the whole job turned out. I would definitely use them again when I'm ready to turn my back porch into a sunroom

Mary and her husband came to my house gave me an estimate to turn my concrete porch into a sunroom. They gave me an estimate which I thought was a great price. Mary gave me a date they would start the project. The actual start date was about three weeks later than the date given, but I was fine with that. I was sent an email with pictures of the workers who would be doing the work with times and dates they would arrive. The workers were excellent. The work area was cleaned up everyday before they left. Porch Conversion did an excellent job! I would recommend them to anyone who wants a beautiful sunroom at a fair price. Mary gave me her personal cell phone number so if I had a concern I could reach her right away. When my sunroom was finished, I felt like Mary and the crew were friends instead of just contractors doing a job.

This is a review update. We were trying to get our refundable deposit returned since we did not choose this contractor. After calls and emails over weeks, we finally did receive verification that our deposit check had been voided. I have received two letters from the contractor requesting that I totally remove my original review with the issues involving return of our deposit from Angie's list. I am writing this addendum however, to give the entire true story of our interaction with this contractor. Antone considering doing business with this contractor should have the benefit of the entire story. We finally did receive verification that our refundable deposit had been voided, but that does not negate how long it took. This update represents our interaction with this contractor.....a complete deletion of our experience with them would not have been a fair and complete representation of or experience with them. ******************** 8-26-14 This is an update to my prior post regarding my numerous attempts to get my REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT returned.....Finally, after seeing my post on Angie's list, I got a letter from the company indicating they had finally voided my check and requesting that I amend my post. Thus, this is my amendment...After many attempts, I finally did receive verification that my deposit was voided, but it should not have taken a less-than-glowing post on Angie's list to accomplish same. ******************** UPDATE: 9-6-14 This is the second update I am posting regarding the fact that following calls and emails to this contractor, I finally did receive verification that my deposit check had been voided. I still would not recommend this company, since as a result of my personal experience with them, their customer service is certainly lacking. Additionally, the company has requested that I remove my entire review, however, I feel that in future consumers should have the benefit of the entire issue. So, the final result with this company is: 1. Following numerous calls and e-mails, I finally did get verification that my deposit check was not cashed, 2. The customer service leaves a lot to be desired, and 3. Their request that I completely remove my original posting indicating the difficulty I encountered while attempting to get this refund rather than updating it as I have here, indicates questionable morality.
Description of Work: Gave an estimate, one of 4 that I had decided to get. Explained to them that I had to get a few more estimates since it was a rather large project costing several thousand dollars. They insisted that I should put down a $100 REFUNDABLE deposit just to "get on their list" since work was taking several weeks to a couple of months to get to. They wrote on my contract that my $100 was to be refunded. We ended up going with a different contractor, and after three request for a refund of our deposit, have received not one penny! I will be putting in one last request for the refund that was written into my contract. If not forthcoming, will take further actions.

We appreciate all feedback from customers and would like to address the above review. Although the customer signed a contract with our company and wrote a $100 deposit check, they changed their minds about the project. They contacted our Office Manager, Lori, who told the homeowner “no problem. We will void the check”. When we received notification that a review had been posted (8/18), we reached out to the homeowner via E-mail (8/20) re-explaining the process to the homeowner and attached copies of their voided check. When no response was received, a letter was sent by postal mail which included copies of the voided check as well. As a back to back recipient of the Angie’s List Super Service Award, we take these matters seriously. We feel that we did everything that we could to assure the homeowner that because his check was never deposited, we were unable to issue any refund.

May: After researching PorchConversion.com on Angie's List, I felt this was a company that could convert our existing wooden deck into a three season porch. Their advertisement said this could be accomplished for $6-7,000. Andy Bouchardt, Lincensed Contractor for PorchConversion.com, came to my home annd measured the deck and looked under the deck. He stated that to do what I had in mind would cost between $16-20,000. WE agreed upon a porch conversion for $16000.00. Andy was to complete all the paper work including the HOA and Building permits. The work was to begin in late June after the house was painted. Mark Pooage came to our house to double check the measurments Andy had supplied. Although offered, Andy refused a copy of the initial official survey plot from 1995 of the home and insisted on drawing his own. His numbers did not match the original survey plot numbers. I heard absolutely nothing from Andy until I emailed him sharing that our house was to be painted on June 19th. June: Because I continued to hear nothing from Andy, I wrote asking if the project was on target to begin after the completion of the house painting. It was at this time I was told by Andy that the permit he submitted on May 29th had been denied. He was under the impression that this was because our deck extended too close tot he property line. At this point, I began investigating the problem with the building permit. On June 16th, I contacted Jeph Allen who is the Director of the Building Permits Department of the Town of Cary. The next morning he called me. He shared there was no problem with the demensions of my deck as long as it was a deck. The problem related to it being converted to a porch structure. At that point it was 9 inches too close tot he property line. He also gave me the name of Susan Hickman who was the person who actually reviewed the application for the building permit. I wrote her on June 17th and she called me later that evening. She explained that the deck changing to a structure was indeed a problem but the larger problem related to the "footings" under the deck.Andy had written "unknown" when asked about the "footings". The "foortings are the support structures which hold up the deck. They needed to be on a concrete pad and also placed so they would support the new structure of the three season porch. She also gave me information so I could access the actual reports from their website. I did this and made Andy a copy of these reports also. I wrote Andy on June 18th sharing my conversation with Susan Hickman and also giving him her phone number and encouraging him to call her. I also asked that he come to the house so we could discuss the two reports. After 2 emails, Andy agreed to come by on June 20th. On June 20th, I printed a copy of each report for Andy and had copies of the original survey of the plot to share with him. When he came, we read these reports together. He shared that he had not accessed them and had been waiting for Susan to send him something. His impression was that only another survey was needed. We went outside to look at the deck "footings" together. It was not obvious that the 8 existing "footings" were on concrete pads. Andy volunteered that he could add 3 new "footings and have them be on concrete pads, and he could have 9 inches cut off from the existing wooden deck. To add the 3 new "footings, large azalea plants would need to be removed as well as a paver walkway redone. The cost for all of this would be in addition to the $16000.00 already agreed upon. At this time, I shared with Andy that I had decided to cancel the project. He said he would go to the office immediately and have the home company "cut me acheck". Andy declined to take the reports from the Town of Cary with him. He also expressed disappointment in the rules the Town of Cary had and that "this is the second project they have costed me." As of June 26th, I had heard nothing nor had I received a refund check. I wrote him an email. His response was to say he would check on it in the morning. Since I continued to hear nothing nor receive a refund check, I wrote an official letter stating I had canceled the project and requested a complete refund. I mailed this letter on June 30th. I have continued to hear nothing from either Andy Brouchard and/or PorchConversion.com. All I am interested in is a refund check for $1600. I do not feel this was a positive experience related to the interactions ( or lack thereof) with Andy and/or PorchConversions.com. Many of my emails to Andy were also sent to the PorchConversion.com email address in an attempt to keep them informed of the situation. I feel ignoring a situation is not a way to handle it in a professional manner

Response from PorchConversion.com
We appreciate all feedback from customers and would like to address the above review. We worked with the homeowner with regards to permitting issues and offered options and solutions to get the permit approved. The homeowner decided not to pursue these options. Porch Conversion was invested financially and had incurred fees in regards to engineering & design drawings, permitting, and planning. Our contracts specifically address these issues of unforeseen costs out of our control such as special engineering required by local cities and townships. Porch Conversion did no more than recover the costs involved in this process. Porch Conversion refunded the total costs of the deposit minus our expenses, which totaled $600.
