Description of Work: I woke up Saturday morning to a backed up sewer. It was in the tubs, showers and leaking around toilets, ESP in master bathroom. I grabbed towels, lots of towels and dialed the phone. The yellow pages listed Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, big ad and I called. They were very nice, said there was a man in my area and said they would contact him. They called back 10-15 min later to say a man was on the way. It was not long before a very nice man came to help us. The service man's name was Chandler and he sure knew what he was doing. He first relieved the pressure so stuff would stop coming into the house. Then he checked the street connection to see if it was caused by a clog in the city's sewer. It wasn't . Then went to work unblocking the clog. He tried a regular snake I think it's called and it didn't do the trick so he had to get another piece of equipment that forced water under pressure to unclog blockage. It took a lot of work and about 45 min or more before it finally unclogged. Chandler felt pretty positive that the Pear tree growing in the yard was the culprit. The roots had undoubtedly grown through the pipe. He had seen it many times before but he could check it with a camera. There we stood, my husband and I, watching Chandler's screen as this tube went down the pipe and sure enough there they were, in several places. Roots and more roots. He explained that the sewer should be replaced and that the best thing would be to have the tree removed and the stump and roots ground out. As much as we hated to see our tree go we agreed it would be best also. Chandler said they would let us know in a short while the estimate for replacement of sewer pipe. About an hour or less Chandler and his supervisor, Jeff, arrived with a price. From the beginning, my first conversation , the cost of a service call was explained. Then Chandler explained the additional costs for the processes we may have to do. No hidden fees, all up front, agreed upon and explained. Jeff came with the cost of the replacement of the sewer pipe and it seemed to be a fair price so we agreed. We discussed tree removal people and agreed upon Fitness Tree. They had worked with them before. I have to say that the work was done very well and timely. Chandler was very professional and sure knew what he was doing. He used a level to make sure pipe was put in at the right angle. He was a very pleasant person and a pleasure to do business with. We would call Ben Franklin again for sure and hope we would get Chandler as our technician.

Description of Work: Trenched entire exterior plumbling, and completely reinstalled new EVERYTHING. Timely, professional, efficient, outstanding performance, pleasant and educational, incredibly outstanding service! Chandler and Berry are simply pros!!! Definitely calling back for future needs!!!

Description of Work: Kyle came to look at my water softner, which was overdue for service. I was not a softer installed by Ben Franklin, but he was still very helpful and even came later that day to test the water after I had filled the softner with salt. Very nice and professional. I liked that he explained to me how the softner worked.

Description of Work: We had a few problems, the biggest one being a leak from the kitchen sink spray hose. The kitchen faucet also has a dripping issue that comes and goes every couple of days/weeks. The faucet in the laundry room would leak after you turned it off and the last problem was the water in the toilet tank was not filling properly. It was a Saturday when I called, a very nice young man Kyle came that day, he was able to fix the kitchen sink hose rather quickly. Of course that was the most important problem because water was leaking from it and I had to leave it hanging in the sink so it would not flood the counter. He took a look at the other problems and said he would have to order some parts. He got the information he needed from me took some pictures of the faucets and said they would be in touch when they got the parts. I had not heard from them, after about two months I called back asking what happened and asked if I needed to get someone else to do the job. They were very apologetic and said they would have Kyle call me, he responded in less than 1/2 hour, apologized and said he was still waiting to hear about the parts and came back in two days. Unfortunately the part for the kitchen sink did not fit our faucet, he called the dealer and was told the model was discontinued and parts were not available. Kyle fixed the toilet and had me pick out a new faucet for the laundry room sink, he came back in about two days to install it. For now I still have the kitchen faucet but within the next few months I will pick out a new one and have them come back and install it.

Description of Work: I noticed my water/sewer bill were unusually high. Customer service suggested I have someone come look for a leak. Based on reviews on this list I called this company. The rep identified two leaky toilets and a main water line leak between meter and house.#1 I have not seen any evidence of water line leak i.e wet ground, greener grass, puddled water, etc. He gave me estimate on repairing or replacing water line into house and fixing two toilets.$1929.00 I called two other plumbers for an estimate.

Description of Work: To begin, the secretary lets the customer know what the minimum service charge will be. There were no real surprises about the price and although it was expensive, it was worth it. I had a leak in a second story bathroom toilet that left unfixed or poorly fixed could have come through my ceiling. After he removed the toilet and inspected he said it was a broken flange. He replaced the flange and fixed a small leak in the ballast. He returned the toilet to its place and checked for leaks. None. (Two year warranty)

Description of Work: I had scheduled to have my shutoffs replaced on all the sinks and commodes in my house, since I live near the ocean and salt spray. The appointment was for early morning. They did not make the appointment, nor did they call to let me know. I found out when I called to see where they were. Being a contract and good customer, I reminded them about the promise if they were late. The manager called me and apologized and offered to take $250.00 off my bill. I thought this was quite fair and certainly appreciated it and will continue to use them for all my plumbing needs.

Description of Work: Removed old corroded kitchen faucet and sprayer replaced them with new faucet which I purchased at hardware store. The job was scheduled promptly (within a day or two) and the plumber arrived at specified tme. Care was taken to protect my floor. Plumber was very friendly and helpful. I am disabled, so he removed all the cleaning agents and kitchen products, etc from under the sink to perform the work and replaced them when job was completed. He had a price list for standard plumbing tasks with him, and we discussed other things I need to have done. Company also uses name Bejamin Franklin plumbing. Price was fair for work performed.
