He originally planned to come the previous day and scheduled a time. But when his previous appointment ran over he was kind enough to contact me and offered to reschedule which I did. He made the rescheduled appointment and promptly took a look. Afterwards he explained to me what he had found and the challenges/merits of each of the possible solutions . There was a short term solution, a longer term solution and the ultimate best solution that would last for about 10 - 15 years. Of course the longer the term the more the solution would cost to implement. Due to financial constraints at the time, I chose the short term solution and expressed the desire to implement the best solution which is a complete bathroom remodel. He did state that he wasn't doing too many remodels anymore but would be willing to work with someone and handle the plumbing to ensure that the work is done properly and according to code. He offered the name of a handyman and stated he is more than willing to work with any one I! choose. I would definitely call on him again.

When I called to schedule the work John answered and got the information on the fixture so he could secure the needed part for the repair. We were able to schedule work for the next afternoon. John called as he was leaving his previous job and arrived at the scheduled time. After reviewing the project he informed me of several potential problems and let us decide how we wanted to proceed in the event he ran into a major problem(s). Luckily we did not have a major problem and he was able to complete the project as planned. John was very nice and professional explaining each step and giving options along the way.

Arrived on schedule. Quickly diagnosed problem and identified needed replacement parts. Clearly explained to me what work he would need to do, what parts would need to be replaced and estimated the cost. He completed the work promptly and the final cost was the estimated amount. John was professional, courteous and friendly. I highly recommend this company.

John responded quickly to my voicemail and I explained that we live in a new construction and we had good water pressure in our shower until recently. He said that he wanted to save me some money and asked if I could take the shower head off and see if there was any gunk in there. Sure enough, I took the shower head off and there was what appeared to be a glob of plumber's tape lodged in there. Put the shower head back on and we now have full water pressure. It is so nice to have folks like John who is honest and not out to rip you off...

John was quick to reply to my voice mail and was able to give a rough estimate for each repair over the phone. On the day we agreed upon, John called 1 hour prior to showing up to make sure that we were still set for the day and time. John was there 15 minutes ahead of time and was ready to walk through and look at each job. He then provided a description of what he would do and then provided the cost of each job. He was completed each job and double checked everything and verified that I was happy with the jobs that were completed. I would contact John again if I am in need.

Unlike most plumbers, John is a Master Plumber (i.e, has achieved the professional designation of "Master Plumber"). I am a landlord and have had so-so experiences with multiple plumbers in the past. I had a recurring issue with a bathtub valve and wanted to consult on a couple of other issues (toilet valve and rusting water heater) with someone who has a higher level of skill, and I was prepared to pay more for that skill. I found John on Angie's List and gave him a call & left a message. He quickly returned my call and we set up an appointment. He called the morning of the appointment to confirm, and he showed up on time. In consulting with him on the bathtub valve, toilet valve, and water heater, he explained the options objectively, ranging from doing nothing to replacing soft parts (e.g., washers) to replacing the valves and major water heater work. I told him to proceed with replacing the soft parts on the bathtub valve, replacing the toilet valve, and decided to wait on the water heater. He worked efficiently, and gave me good advice in the process. He billed me reasonably. I won't hesitate to call him next time I need a plumber with a higher level of skill.

I noticed that the toilet shutoff valve was leaking and called John to schedule a time to replace the valve. On the day of the appointment, John arrived on time and quickly resolved the issue. He replaced the leaky shutoff valve and stayed onsite for about 15 minutes after the repairs were completed to make sure there were no other leaks. John also advised me on another potential issue that he noticed, but assured me that no repairs were necessary at this time.

John answered the phone when I first called. I briefly described my problems and we reviewed schedules and came up with two possible date/times. He informed me early that the first date/time would no longer work, so we went with the second date/time. John called me in advance, giving me time to leave work. He showed up right on time. I showed him the bathroom with the leaky faucets, and the water turn off. He quickly got to work and fixed both issues in under an hour. He was quiet and overall it was a minimal interruption to my work. John is articulate, polite, knowledgeable and professional. This was one of the easiest in-and-out plumbing jobs I've had. From scheduling the appointment, his follow through on keeping me informed of his schedule, the quick repair and reasonable cost, this was an all round A+ experience.

It all went very smoothly. John was responsive to phone calls, punctual, friendly, very informative, professional as well as social to talk to. His work was solid and professional. He is a very knowledge plumber.

He actually answered the phone when I called!! He made an appt the next day and was on time. He called about an hour before to make sure I'd be home. He explained what had to be done and was finished very quickly. Clean, neat and direct service. Was a pleasure to deal with!!

John called me to confirm that I was home and arrived about 30 minutes later. I gave him a brief overview of the problem with the hot water in the 2nd bathroom sink. He checked the valve and recommended replacing the valve. Before beginning the repair, John asked me to show him where the hot water heater was located in case he needed to access it. The valve repair was finished in about 30 minutes and now the hot water valve works perfectly. John noticed that the hot water coming from the tap felt lukewarm, so he measured the temperature. It was about 10 degrees cooler than it should be so I asked him to check the hot water heater to see if there was a problem that he could fix while he was there. He checked the thermostat settings first. They were set at the highest allowable setting so he checked the elements but they were working properly. He checked the hot water temperature at two other taps. Since the readings fell in the acceptable range, John theorized that the thermostat was functioning properly. He offered several different solutions that I could try myself. In the course of the discussion, I mentioned that I thought the cold & hot water hookups for my washer were mislabeled. John also offered advice on how I could figure out if this myself and how to address the problem. Finally, he recommended two brands of low flush toilets and gave me some ideas on which style would work best for me. I absolutely recommend John for any of your plumbing needs. His work is very high quality - he is a true professional who takes pride in doing the job right. I only wish that I had asked John to do a plumbing inspection before I bought my home!

Replaced fill valve and supply tube

John called back quickly, provided the date and time he could arrive and then called the day of to let me know he was running early. He completely the work precisely and professionally. We felt he was very honest and will definitely have him come back for any of our plumbing needs.

John returned calls promptly prior to the appointment including accomodating a last minute change in the appointment. He arrived at the scheduled time and finished the job more quickly than I anticipated. He explained what needed to be done prior to beginning the job and the $350 cost was what he had quoted. I would definitely use NC Master Plumber next time I need one.

John Hansen answers his own phone (what a concept! You actually talk to the owner and worker!) and does so in a timely manner. He arranges appointments that fit your need for either immediate service or delayed service, and he respects your schedule. John was punctual, polite, friendly, informative, and most importantly, very adept at his work. My former plumber retired, and I'm so glad to have found John to be my new plumber. I will call him with any other problems in the future. I recommend him highly.

There was on and off leaks through the first floor ceiling. When I contacted him, John quickly responded and provided his service. He was experienced and knowledgable in finding the source of the leak, and explained in great details about the repair options. I was very pleased with his service and professionalism .

John was great - he was very quick to respond to my initial query, listed to me explain what was wrong, then provided me a plan of what he would do, and how much it would cost. When I decided to go with him, he scheduled me very quickly (within 48 hours, as this was not an emergency). He arrived promptly, looked at the work he would have to perform, and again explained what he would be doing, and how long it would take. Again, he was on point, and was thorough, professional, kind, sociable, and a pleasure to work with.

Replaced a defective and leaking water valve under our garage sink. It was during these horrendous freezing temps we were experiencing, and the water line was not frozen. It was a part failure. This was an emergency situation and Mr. Hansen responded on my first call and was at our home in 1/2 hour and repair was instant. I cannot express how pleased we were with his work and responsiveness. His price was in line with work performed, especially on such short notice on a Friday.

Did a first rate job as promised.....

Everything went fantastic. He communicated throughout the whole process from the scheduling, the appointment arrival, to what was happening during the repair process, and then sat down at gave me some advice on how to ensure that the issue didn't come up again in the future. He left the area in better cleanliness than what he found it in. I'm absolutely impressed and happy with the work that was done, the timeliness, and the professionalism.

Great! When I called John, I was in quite a predicament. I called him on a Friday, and he was able to meet me out at the house on the following Monday. When he arrived, John first shut off the water at the main shutoff valve and quickly determined that the leak was between the house and the meter. I told him that the sump pump had been running very often, and with that he said "If this were my house, I'd first check in the crawl space right where the water line runs through the foundation. We might spend an hour and not find anything, but if we do find the leak, that would save a lot of time and money". John and I went under the crawl space, and sure enough, after digging for about 20 minutes, we observed a very small trickle of water coming through the hole in the foundation where the pipe runs through. We went outside and started digging around the foundation wall and about a foot down, a large amount of water began to pool. From there, John shut of the water at the meter, and we dug down to approximately 2 feet. John prepared a section of copper pipe to replace the damaged section, completed the repair, and then we filled in the hole. Done! What a relief! If not for John's experience and expertise, I may have been in for a much larger bill. Thanks to John, this headache is over, and the job is done right! I will definitely call John any time I have a serious plumbing issue in the future. I would recommend him to anyone who is in need a fair, experienced plumber!

Did a good job- nothing terribly tough- was punctual and did a good job. I did think the price for what was completed was a little higher than it should have been, but this was the only estimate I got- so nothing to compare to

We were very impressed by John's responsiveness, first of all. He was easy to reach by phone and text, and he kept us clearly informed of his availability and projected arrival time (we had agreed to play it by ear rather than a strict appointment). John then arrived right when he said he would. He was polite and offered excellent professional advice without ever being pushy. The work was done perfectly. He went above and beyond to be neat and clean. He loves his work and is a super nice guy. We will definitely call on him again!

I called John as soon as the toilet overflowed and he said he could be here by 11 am. He called before he came and it was before 11am. He explained what he was doing and why and possiblilities. After receiving a extremely high water bill, discovered water heater under house had been discharging water from water pressure value.
