NC Master Plumber LLC

Had NC Master plumber come out to hopefully hook up a new vanity in a bathroom. He charges $129 to come look at the job and after he brags about himself being a master plumber for quite a while he gave me an astronomical estimate on installing 2 new water valves, hooking up the drain line and installing a faucet. $975 to install the valves and hook up the drain and $475 just to install the faucet. When I asked him why it was so expensive, he then continued on about him being a master plumber and if he couldn't get the amount of $ he quoted, he just won't do the job. He then went on to inform me several times that he would be happy just to collect his $129 service call and get to the lake to go kayaking. I felt John was way more interested in collecting his $129 and then going kayaking and never intended to do any work, but to just collect his service fee. Ended up getting another estimate from a licensed plumber to do the exact same job and he did the work for $275 that took them about 2 hours. Buyer beware that NC Master Plumber, in my opinion, just wants to collect his service call fee and flee. What a rip-off. Please don't let him do this to you

John's skills and professionalism are amazing! The quality of his work is exceptional, but he's more than a regular plumber. He cares about the work he does and he wants to make sure you are getting exactly what you want with work that will last for years. Our HW heater was a big box brand that was poorly installed (not to code, among other issues) and was falling apart from the inside, spreading black rubber debris to all our fixtures. Rather than immediately trying to "sell" a replacement we talked through the options. Once I decided that a replacement was the way to go he recommended a commercial brand that cost about the same as a big box brand but was of a far better quality. Along the way, he was able to install a HW recirculating pump (to get that HW across the house quickly in the winter), replaced the hammering PVR and installed the whole house sediment filter. He made sure I understood the maintenance I would need to perform to keep these systems running in tip-top shape too. We talked about performing some upgrades to the bathrooms; he gave me some websites to browse for higher quality fixtures. While I decided not to tackle that expense this year he insisted that I reach out to him, regardless of whether he was going to perform the work, to make sure that what I found on the site would work and to confirm the list of parts I would need for the job. Needless to say, he's going to get that job when the time comes. John's very communicative; he makes sure you know what he's doing and when it's going to be done. He was always on time but would call if he thought he was going to be even 5-10 minutes late. He'll talk through your options without sounding like a sales pitch and he will always stress using quality parts to go with his quality work. I can't recommend him enough!

I called to make an appointment to have a leaking toilet repaired. My call was answered promptly and I was told that it could be done in a couple days. He offered some suggestions for damage control but I had already taken those actions. Since I had shut off the water to the toilet, and it was no longer leaking, I agreed to the time frame. On the day of the original appointment, he called to let me know that he could not get to me that day but would get to me the next morning, and asked whether I still wanted him to do it. Since my issue was not an emergency, I said it was okay. The next morning, he called ahead and then showed up a bit early. He examined the toilet in question, and then told me what he could do (including replacing it entirely if that is what I wanted). When I told him I just wanted it repaired, he got started. As he was working, I asked some questions and he answered them. He pointed out some matters relating to the toilet while he was working, offering his insight on them. When he thought it was done, he tested it and there was an issue with one of the parts he had used, so he replaced that. Once that was done, everything worked well and no leaks remained. Altogether it took a couple hours. I think his price for what I had done was a bit steep, but I appreciate the attention to details. Looking at his website, and considering part of the conversation at the beginning of the repair, it seems he is more interested in plumbing upgrades. While I'm undecided (due to pricing) about using him again for relatively minor matters, I would be willing to consider him for more complex services in the future.

John was prompt in getting back to me after I left a message & we were able to schedule an appointment with no problems. He showed up on schedule and proceeded to assess my drain damage. We discussed my options and he gave me an accurate estimate on my cost. Once the job was set, John went about his way to resolving my plumbing, pausing briefly now and then to point out what he was doing and why it was important. He’s a nice person, friendly, courteous & unassuming. I felt confident in his ability & felt that he had my interest in mind. Once my kitchen was back in order he gave me the bill & we discussed plans for a few other jobs in the future. I think he did a fantastic job and would definitely hire him again. His work is top notch; by no means would I compare him to a discount contractor (as he was not cheap), but if you’re interested in quality workmanship by a skilled professional then i’d highly recommend him.

The process went very well. The professional explained in great detail what steps he was taking and why. He also noticed a couple of previous repairs done by previous plumbers that were relevant to address in the near future. I will call him again in the near future for future evaluation. Outstanding work!

The disposal was rusted to the flange and he had to cut it out and did a great job. Very pleasant personality, also.

Called NC Master Plumber at 6:30 am. Said he would be out as soon as he took care of first appointment. He took care of first appointment earlier than expected and then came to us. He replaced the pipe, which had a nail in it from the builder. It took a couple of hours for the pipe to be fixed. He did a great job.

Detailed examination of the affected are. Excellent explanation of problem. Highly satisfied with repair. I will never call another plumber again.

Went great. Price point might seem a bit high to some, but I believe you get what you pay for sometimes. John knows plumbing, was very responsive, and was on time for both service call, and the device install. Professional job, and the filter is performing perfectly....amazing how much it's filtering out of our water, and as wells go, we have a good one. This is now "My Plumber", and is who I will go to for any future plumbing project!

The plumber arrived ahead of schedule, explained what needed to be done and did it quickly and efficiently. He took the time to answer questions on other plumbing issues I was having as well. Very pleasant and helpful.

Once the job began, it became obvious that the toilet had been put in crooked and that this wasn't a quick fix. John took the time to get it right. He pays attention to details and takes pride in fixing things the right way.

John did a great job in repairing the leak, Great Job! and in fact made some suggestions to reduce any future issues around my hot water tank. This is my first time experience working with NC Master Plumbing and would highly recommend. Top quality work, very honest, knowledgeable and a great guy who cares about what he does. Would recommend NC Master Plumber to anyone.

Great! He fixed our problems and also installed a limiter on our son's shower (our hot water tank goes up to ridiculously high temperatures). He was very reasonably priced, friendly, professional, and just an all-around good guy.

John is definitely a master plumber! He knew his stuff, and was able to work around the "shortcuts" the builders used in our shower plumbing. He was friendly, professional, and even showed up to do the job while dealing with some major tooth pain!

He was great! He did the work on the first visit, and his price was almost half of the other guys. I used him because of his high Angie's List rating, and was not disappointed.

John responded to my request very quickly and accommodated my proposed time. He showed up on time, reviewed the faucet I purchased and got right to work. He advised replacement of both water valves which was in line with the problems I was having with the existing faucet. He completed the work, taking care to ensure the water drained out and flowed through multiple sources in the house. The repair and replacement was done in a reasonable amount of time. He took time to go through the faucet warranty when finished. He cleaned up the work area and left everything neat. The faucet looks good and works great. I am a repeat customer and will continue to return to NC Master Plumber as my go-to for all plumbing issues.

Did not show for first estimate appointment that I took time off work for. Showed up for second estimate appointment on time. Asked for written estimate and proposed schedule for installation. He said would provide via email. Did not hear back except he called he day before he wanted to show up for work. Job was already done by another company. Upcharged on the hot water tank for concrete platform and relief valve to the outside - both which were not required for our location. Wanted to upcharge to remove wastebasket carriage under sink ($75 for 6 screws). Could not give a general F since he did not do the work.

He was very responsive in scheduling the work and punctual for the appointment. He took time to explain the system to me and what to check for. Very nice guy - would definitely use him again!

Couldn't have gone better. John was very professional and did the job in a timely manner. He answered any and all of my questions with an obvious knowledge of plumbing. This is the guy I will call when I need anything plumbing related in the future. I would definitely recommend him without question.

Before the appointment, John was responsive and upfront about availability. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and immediately set to work understanding the problem. He helped me understand what was going on and what my options were, attempting first the lowest-cost, quickest intervention that had a high likelihood of a reliable success. He performed the work efficiently, and at all times was courteous and professional, and provided good advice on how to upgrade from my provided equipment that I had purchased at Lowes. I would recommend his services, and make use of them myself in the future.

Mr. Hansen started out trying to change out parts on the old faucet to keep costs down, but he was unable to do so because the faucet was too rusted. He then guided me through the process of choosing a new quality faucet that would fit the holes in my granite countertop, finding units on the internet that would suit my needs. He was constantly in communication with me, and this was much appreciated. After my ordering and receiving the faucet, he gave me an appointment for installation. About 45 minutes before the appointment, he called to say that he was on his way. Mr. Hansen completed the job very professionally, and there are no leaks. I am extremely happy with the results, and would highly recommend NC Master Plumber.
