Description of Work: "Rick Knowles, the owner, is our landscaper. Over the past four years he has transformed our yard form a space over run with ivy, leggy plants, rampant foundation plantings and a circle of azaleas that probably looked charming when they were planted in a a circle in the back yard. He brought the lawn from neglected to showcase, and is ever working to resolve any problems that arise from climate and just the run of the mill disease that constantly try to claim the gardens and grass. Most of all, he has vision. He has built a wonderful paver patio, in two stages for us. He is candid about estimates,and because he is a hard worker, he has a cast of workers who perform all tasks efficiently and expeditiously. Our latest project which he made materialize was a serious of staggered paver bed walls. I could not 100% understand what he was explaining, but I have come to trust his judgement. He has never disappointed. He always asks for input during the process, willing to tweek, and never does anything unless he is clear on what you want. He is a great communicator. Among many hired contractors we have had, he has distinguished himself as dependable and exacting about his final project. He could grow his business more, but it is important for him to balance quality work with respect for family time for himself and his workers (though I think his wife, Sonja, might disagree ! Not enough superlatives for me to use. |You get what you pay for!"

Description of Work: Called several times and they never even so much as returned my call once. Very disappointing. I wish I had just gone with someone else. Instead, I let several weeks go by. Oh well.

Description of Work: They maintain our yard except that I mow the lawn. They weed, fertilize, cut the bushes, trim trees, etc. the price varies depending on the type of job and necessary materials.

Description of Work: It's different prices but they do our lawn care aeration fertilization etc... We just call and ask if they can do other things and they give an estimate then do it when we agree. No fuss and great outcome - my lawn looks terrific now.

Description of Work: Left two messages and had no response. Called last year and the same thing happened. Must not need the business.

Description of Work: Front yard was sprayed for weeds, aerated, and seeded. The back yard which was in ruins from a previous landscaper was sprayed to kill weeds, Topsoil was brought in and the yard was seeded. I now have new grass without any weeds. A drain was added for standing water. Rick is to return soon to place pavers. He was very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Description of Work: Rick Knowles and his co-worker, Alberto, removed an old concrete patio and put in a new brick paver one. They did an exceptional job -its a great improvement. I would certainly hire them again and recommend them to anyone!

Description of Work: I found the company on Angie's list and contacted them because they had high positive scores. Rick Knowles responded immediately to my email and we met shortly thereafter to discuss our needs. Our yard has the potential to be a high class English garden with a beautiful mufti-terraced patio and a spacious front yard. The original landscaping was done by "New Garden" and we had been trying to maintain it with a mowing service. In six years we lost control and it was no longer at its former beauty. Rick and Alberto have quickly restored it to its potential. They did a massive removal of old plant matter, mulched front and back, fertilized and applied weed control to the lawns, patched the lawns with sod, trimmed trees, planted a dozen azaleas, several rhododendrons and other decorative shrubbery. They also built a retainer wall.

Description of Work: I have a contract with Advanced Landscaping to maintain our parking lot, outside plant and flowers. They clean my parking lot once a week and water the plants and flowers 3 times a week. They also take care of changing out the flowers in the spring and fall (extra charge) as well as shovel and de-ice the parking lot when needed (extra charge). They are always very prompt on both the scheduled work and the as needed work.

Description of Work: I have hired him to maintain my lawn including feeding, fertilizing and weeding. He's also assisted with addtional landscaping and I hired him to do attic blown in insulating as well.
