Scott was fantastic! Always very professional and friendly. He kept us up-to-date every step of the way and we always knew what was going on and what the next step was. The quality of the work is remarkable. One does not realize how much it goes into finishing an attic and Scott made it extremely enjoyable for us because we were able to see the progression and truly learn what is entailed in a project like this. We could not be any happier with the final product - we have gained a large family room that our three kids will enjoy for years to come... I'm going to have to fight them for it :). All the teams that Scott managed to work in this project were always extremely punctual and professional. They came when they told us they were coming and completed the work extremely well and consistently on time. Additionally, all inspections went really smoothly and we are now fully enjoying of the extra room in our home. We began our home remodel like many others, getting quotes from many different contractors who were referred by friends or who had received good review on Angie's List. Overall, we received quotes from four different general contractors. Scott Bower from Big Sky Homes was the final contractor we spoke with and received a quote from. He arrived at the precise date and time that we had previously arranged. He inspected the parts of the home in which he would be working. After he left, my wife and I had not yet received the actual quoted price for the project (Scott needed a couple days to get the quote drawn up), but my wife and I were certain that Scott was the correct fit regardless if his quote came in higher than the others. My wife and I both work during the day and we needed a General Contractor we could trust with our home while we were not there. Scott immediately came off as a person who not only had the knowledge to complete the job, but also we could trust. We later received the official quote, which was on par with the other three quotes we had received and immediately hired Scott to perform the work. Our project was being funded through a bank refinance, which added an additional level of complication to every aspect of the project. The bank would have to inspect the project after five intervals before a draw on funds could be made. Therefore, Scott and myself had to engage in constant communication almost daily to schedule the inspection, sign paperwork and coordinate payments. Scott was able to be contacted by e-mail, phone and text during most of the day and always responded to all of our questions promptly. In regards to the actual work that was performed, Scott did a great deal of the work himself, including framing the walls and ceilings of the project (the room was about 25' x 25'), making the stair rails and doors, and building the deck. Most of the work that was subcontracted was performed by crews that had been associated with Scott for some time and which Scott knew would be completed correctly. Scott always personally inspected the sub's work and had any imperfections corrected. This project also took place during a transition period for my family, as we had a new baby while the work was being performed. As a result, work ceased for a couple of weeks directly after the birth, however, during the next several weeks, my wife and newborn were at home during the day. Scott ensured that my wife and newborn were disturbed as little as possible. Anytime he or a sub was supposed to report for work, he would coordinate the time in such a way that he would not disturb my wife and newborn. We could not have asked for a better experience. Finally, after about 3 months of construction (there was some delay because of materials coming in from suppliers), my family and I have been able to enjoy our new 3rd floor space and deck. After spending approximately a month enjoying our new spaces, we have noticed that the quality of work is exceptional and are very satisfied. From start to finish, our renovation was a larger project and my wife and I are in agreement that we chose the right person. We would not hesitate to hire Scott and Big Sky Homes for future projects and Highly recommend Scott to any others looking to remodel a wide range of home projects.

The finished product is very nice. Strong and solid while still being attractive. Scott began the project in Nov 2014 and got the structure assembled in a week or so. I wanted to stain the wood of the structure before Scott installed the screening, but the staining couldn't happen until the weather warmed back up in the spring. Scott was very understanding and flexible and came back to finish out the project in April 2015. He did a careful job that is well-engineered and assembled and was open to design suggestions from us. We contacted roughly 8 contractors about building this screened enclosure on our deck. All of them were in the "screened deck" or "general contracting" biz. None of them had ever built anything like we were asking (and indicated that no one had ever even asked for anything like this before). All but Scott said it either couldn't be done or that they didn't want to even try. Scott got our vision right away and worked up elevation drawings quickly that matched what we had in mind. For this alone I would recommend Scott if you have a project that everyone else says is crazy.

He arrived at my house promptly. We discussed my plans for the renovation, in which he listened to my concerns and ideas. Mr. Bowers was respectful and expressed his concerns as well. We came to an understanding immediately. He is a perfectionist, making sure each detail is complete. He supervised his assistants making sure that everything is correct. At the end of each day he made sure that the area was neat and clean. Mr. Bowers is consciousness about expenses and tried to keep his work affordable without compromising his quality.

FABULOUS.... Scott Bower is the best contractor ever!! He is very professional, low key, friendly -- far from the slick salesman type. He'll tell you what he can and cannot do. Incredible attention to detail and takes pride in his work. Love, love, love this company. Trust me... it takes a lot to make me happy.

Scott is very nice person but in my opinion a little unprofessional. He does not return phone calls. He may email you even though you request a phone call. I have never had to work so hard to communicate with someone who I am trying to give $1100 to. He came out to the house once to get original measurements for two windows and attic stairs. He came back a little while after that to get some information on the windows. He ended up taking the sticker from the window with him. I had to constantly ask what the status was for getting a quote and nailing down a start date. Last thing I've heard from him was that he said he was having trouble finding the exact windows I have in my home now. No alternatives or plan B's were given even after I suggested so. I got the feeling Scott did not really want to do the job after awhile so I found someone else. Again, I can't speak to the work he does but his professionalism is seriously lacking. Since Scott is such a nice guy I had given him ample time to reply in case an emergency had arose or something like that but communication stopped so I found another contractor. I will not contact Scott Bower again nor would I recommend him to anyone else. Such a shame because he gave me a better price than Lowes and Home Depot. Oh well.

My overall experience with Big Sky Homes was very, very good. Scott, himself; was punctual and on-time. There were occasions, however; when the subcontractors did not show up as scheduled. There were a couple of issues with my stamped concrete floor but they were addressed/corrected and now I have a beautiful floor! I have a gorgeous sunroom with an uniquely designed ceiling and floor that has received rave reviews from family & friends. Scott is very professional and open to suggestions/ideas. He was extremely helpful with color selections, landscaping remedies, attention to details and very thoughtful. The total cost of the project was a little more than I had budgeted, however; unforeseen building code guidelines were a contributing factor. I would highly recommend Big Sky Homes. In fact, my daughter has expressed an interest in contracting Scott for a home improvement project to her house. By the way, my dogs love lying around on my new deck!

I got more than one estimate from Angies List and Big Sky not only had one of the more aggressive numbers, they were easy to work with, did a quality job, and were extremely professional. Thank you!

Scott is an excellent contractor. He is responsive, open to ideas, creative, and on site frequently. In re-designing our kitchen, we had him remove a wall and add a beam to give us the open floor plan we have always wanted. The kitchen is large, bright and open with beautiful cabinets, tile and granite. The lighting is excellent and the detail work impressive. He advised us on current trends and materials, and listened to our ideas. The result is gorgeous! We are getting an estimate from him for the master bath too.

Scott is wonderful, very personable and helpful to our ideas and good suggestions. We asked him to design a deck, and a front porch. Waiting for the $$$ on the porch before we make a decision. Appointment was made quickly, and he was right on time.

Scott takes care of business, period. He is obviously a perfectionist and is very professional from start to finish. The whole project went smoothly from start to finish, took about 2 1/2 days with Scott only having a helper for one of those days. Most of the work he did himself. He worked in the cold and on one occasion right through a lengthy rain shower. The materials used were of first quality, no cutting corners, and the workmanship was very impressive. As stated elsewhere, he exceeded our expectations. It was a pleasure having him here, and I look forward to our next project.

Very personal honest and hard working. Not the cheapest contractor out there but you get what you pay for. Scott puts attention in the finer details of his work which makes it worth paying a little more for.

The experience went very well! The price was good for the barn. We also received a quote for the home, but that was higher than the other bids, so we didn’t select them for that project. He’s been very responsive, easy to work with, has done what he says he’s going to do. He's done the job well, and the end product is outstanding. I would highly recommend him!
