My kitchen is beautiful! So happy with the quality of work and the attention to detail the owner provided. Big Sky Homes came highly recommended and I highly recommend them also!

The whole project went perfectly. The pandemic related supply problems were dealt with as were finding matching interior wood flooring and exterior Trex decking. The major demolition and reconstruction were well planned and quickly completed given the winter weather and to maintain the security of the premises. Scott is very easy to deal with and extremely competent.

Scott was a pleasure to work with. He is very professional and knowledgeable. The teams he brought in to do the work were top notch. We love our new kitchen, sunroom and new covered deck. Overall, a great experience and we highly recommend Big Sky Homes Inc.

I hired Big Sky Homes to build me a garage and it went incredibly well. Scott Bower is one of the most honest builders I've ever dealt with. He genuinely cares about the quality of work he provides to his customers. My new garage is amazing. The builder put in expert detail. He made himself available to me day and night in case I had any concerns. He checked in on the subcontractors as late as 9pm on some evenings. He called me regularly to give me updates on the building process. He was easy to work with, he worked to keep the costs down to stay under budget. The quality of work is outstanding. My husband couldn't believe how well the garage was built and Scott paid perfect attention to detail. If you're looking for a builder, this man is your guy. He will stand beside you and the product he provides to you.

After requesting a quote from Big Sky, Scott reached out to me via the messaging platform and asked me if I had plans already. I didn't, and he said that wasn't a problem. Next he asked what my budget was, and thereafter (through multitudinous exchanges) refused to provide me a quote without first telling him what my budget was. He said he wanted to make sure we had the same expectations. To which I responded by listing numerous industry factors showing I was very familiar with construction costs in the area, and that my wife and I were fully prepared to pay those reasonable wages, without paying more than we should. But he still refused to ever come to the site and provide an estimate for his services without first receiving a budget. I am in upper management in the procurement business for a Fortune 50 company; meaning -- I know exactly how the bid and proposal process works from start to finish; I was also raised with a general contractor for a father; and, I have friends across the country currently in commercial construction. Suffice it to say that I know what I'm talking about when I say that Scott and Big Sky construction are not operating within industry standards for best practices in good faith and fair dealing, to say the least. The practice of refusing to even bid a home remodel/expansion project without first knowing what the owner is prepared to pay is predatory and meant to help the builder establish their cieling price, instead of having to perform reasonable cost estimates and provide the most competitive bid to win the work. Ultimately, Scott and I parted ways with him saying "I'm pretty sure I wont be the cheapest", and wishing me luck.... without ever even understanding the full project scope, or potential costs relative to his company's skills. Just another example of the builders in this area not actually caring about their customers or the work they do, but only about how much money they can make and how quickly. I'm sure if he bothered to bid, because the other companies I requested bids from didn't bother to respond at all to the post, he probably would have gotten the work. Instead, all he earned was an honestly bad review for his shady practices. For those of you going through this process and don't know: the homeowner doesn't tell the construction company how much the build should cost, that's their job!!! You tell them what you want, they tell you how much they would charge for it, and you pick the contractor based on the factors that matter to you (cost, schedule, quality, etc). Best of luck out there, if this is how they're treating their customers.

Apparently, they do not need/want new business. Quick to schedule and come to provide quote. Courteous at that time. Provided quote within 2 weeks. I accepted project quotes in writing and requested schedule for work. Was told he would be in touch with a date and I have never heard another word. No call, text or email to even say they were too busy or just didn’t want to do it.

Scott was very professional and responsive. The project was on time and was good quality work.

Scott was by far the best person to work with. Custom building this house with a large garage was a completely smooth process from start to finish. He is on top of each and every step along the way and on top of each one of the contractors. The quality of the finished job is top notch. He doesn't cut corners and makes sure the quality is how he would personally want it. Scott responds so quickly to everything. He keeps you completely updated along the way. I knew what to expect at all times. I've already recommended him to others and will continue to do so. I would 100% work with him again.

I am giving this company a B for showing up... A representative showed up to discuss the project. Never heard from him again with an estimate.

It was a great experience! The project was monitored very closely and everything was on time.

$32,000.00 !. That's 32K hard earned dollars of ours so the job better be perfect, I'll baby sit everything if I have to... But no baby sitting required. I was totally braced for every "if it can go wrong it will" scenario to happen and it just plain didn't. A complete pleasure to work with Scott from the first contact to him here on AL to our final payment at the end of the job. Job went smooth as a babies cheek, they worked far more quietly than I thought could be. Didn't even wake my dogs which I was gonna dread each morning but didn't happen. Always on time, neat, professional crew as well as the owner, no mistakes, yard kept in great shape, attention to All details, Scott was Always easy to reach. No "leave a message" crap. Only a couple time delays and that's because of rain & freeze..you get the picture. Scott (owner) is a mellow yet thorough man and was patient with us and never treated a single question like it was a "stupid" question and offered suggestions which saved us money and looked beautiful. And...Under the original quote and on time according to the original bid too. Except those couple days of course. I feel very lucky that our first big project was with Big Sky Homes and since we loved the work so much we took him around showing him more work we want to hire him for. We have an older home.

I signed on to Angie's list seeking contractors to quote the job/project and requested follow up from a small number of area contractors including Big Sky Homes. I never received a call or any follow up from Big Sky or the other contractors on Angie's List I'd selected and from whom I requested contact, thus I can't assess the quality of their work other than their lack of follow up for a substantial residential room addition and kitchen remodel job. Perhaps my poor rating above may reflect more of a problem with Angie's List getting its web based leads program hits to its various vendors than with the vendors themselves?

Scott was easy to reach when I had questions and willing to go out of his way to respond with anything that I needed. He made sure that I was happy as the home progressed and had no problem making changes if that made me happy! He catered to my husband and I with our questions and our needs. I don't think that there are very many, if any builders that would be there always making sure the job was going smoothly and paying attention to detail. To be honest, we choose Scott because he was always willing to pick up the phone and text or call when we had questions. We didn't have to wait a day before he would respond and that was very important to my husband and I. Plus, he built us a beautiful home! We are very impressed with him and would recommend anyone that is building a home to call Big Sky Homes!

Scott was very easy to work with and did extremely well at managing the process from start to finish. He was there a majority of the time overseeing the people doing the work. I liked his attention to detail and when we had a small issue with the AC, he had the company out there until it was fixed to our liking. I would highly recommend him and we will use him again for our next project.

Scott did a great job on my Home Theater. His attention to detail and making the room look like it was built when the rest of the house was built was excellent. He followed up all sub contractors and was ready to answer all of our questions.

It went very well, Scott was great to work with. Was timely, fair price and excellent work. Scott was here every time a sub was here and followed up on all of their work. No hesitation in recommending him. The room turned out great---an in home gym. I added-insulation, extended studs to meet code, added two sky lites, electric, ceiling fan, can lights, two small doors for eve access, hardwood landing and a rubber gym floor

Scott was unable to take on my project due to how large it was and other commitments but he did go way out of his way to help me out regardless. Gave me a lot of good information about what the project should really cost and even shared some of his sub contractors with me that could help with some of the work. Really great guy and grateful for his time and advice. Will definitely keep him in mind for future projects.

Scott Bower got the project going on time and despite the snow and cold weather, the deck crew put in full days and got the job done on time. The quality of the work was first class.

Scott and his subcontractors did a great job. Scott was very responsive and communicative throughout the entire process. All of the workers were extremely courteous and cooperative while working in our home.

Scott was on time, even a little early. However, it's been over two weeks and we haven't heard anything from him via email or even a phone call back despite leaving a message. Completely unresponsive - we have no idea what he would have quoted us at.

Scott was definitely the best contractor for our renovation. . He is as honest and trustworthy as they come. He was very easy to work with throughout the project with great communication skills. His eye for professionalism was also carried out by his subs. It was comforting to have Scott in charge of our project and we are very much looking forward to him handling Phase Two later this year.

Scott is great to work with. We love our new home. It is above and beyond of what we expected in quality and the overall experience in working with Scott was awesome. I have built two other homes and was dreading the process a third time. Scott turned this build into the most enjoyable process. My husband and I are so thankful to have had such a great experience.

We purchased our home last Fall and it had a 3rd floor that was already frames/roughed. We started to look for contractors to finish the job. We got a couple of quotes but the #'s just seemed too high. We then decided to just hire sub-contractors and get the job done that way. The plumber we hired mentioned Scott Bower from Big Sky Homes. We met with Scott to discuss the things we needed (finish some framing details like a window seat, hang sheet rock, insulation, tile, paint, flooring, finish trim, etc.) ... we had the plumber, electrician and HVAC all lined up. Scott was happy to work with our trades subs and came in with a fair price. The project started when he said it would. Scott did the work himself or would stop by to inspect every time a sub came by to do work for him (like hang the sheetrock). He addressed any issues that came up quickly. The fact that we had lined up the plumber, electrican and HVAC did create a little bit of delay in the project but Scott worked with us on that. All inspections passed without problems. Scott made sure the quality of the work was there before inspection was done. Nothing was rushed. Scott was able to match the trim/look to the rest of the house very well ... he even redid the entire staircase going up to the 3rd floor so it would match. Job is complete and we are very happy. We'd hire Scott again for a project like this or if we ever decide to build a home.
