Description of Work: Installed remote control gas fireplace, removing the existing fireplace and repairing the walls around the new installation.

Description of Work: Reece's Klean Sweep installed a gas coal insert into an old coal-burning fireplace in our 1918 house. Travis' suggestion for the style / design of the fireplace was right on, as was his suggestion for solving a problem that arose with the fit around the brick we needed to cover. Everyone was professional and they did a great job. We highly recommend them. | |(The cost of the project was high because the insert we chose was pricey, but had the look and energy efficiency we wanted.)

Description of Work: Got a crumbling old chimney? I highly recommend the masons at Reece's after my recent project. Travis was asked to rebuild the top five courses and tuckpoint the chimney of our 1928 house and install a simple stainless steel chimney cap. All was performed in a day's time with satisfaction for $700. As we're in a local historic district the battered profile was redone, the old bricks reused and a good mortar mix was used.

Description of Work: This is my second recommendation of Reece's Clean Sweep on Angie's List. This family business installed my new cast iron stove and steel chimney liner when we moved into our house two years ago. This was after an inspection which revealed problems in the chimney. We purchased a little Vermont Casting stove, very pretty, that they had on hand new. It worked so well during the outage the winter before last; it even heated our upstairs. No frozen pipes in spite of 10 days w/out electricity!! At thtat time, they inspected our old stove and found it safe, but inefficient. So we use that in my husband's studio now. At that installation/inspection, they gave us a schedule for chimney cleaning based on a) frequency of use and b)type of wood used. Naturally, I called them back this year for an annual inspection/cleaning. They also helped determine the problem with my husband's studio chimney and what to do about it. They are keeping an eye out for a little piece of chimney pipe to help raise the smoke above the roof line.
