Really like working with Travis and crew. I wasn't sure what I wanted to replace the ventless. Travis invited me to come see several options, which I did. I chose the Valor Bolero model which is vented and puts out radiant heat. They came on a Thursday, removed the old FP, installed the Bolero and built a hearth for it to sit on, installed the vent to the side of the house. Finished the tile work Friday. The clean up was perfect, it was spotless. And I feel I got a good price for a much safer nice looking FP.

Mr. Reece arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem with our fireplace as a clogged and mis-adjusted orifice for the gas to ignite properly. He cleaned and adjusted, then reassembled the logs. It then worked perfectly. Took, all total, about an hour.

We were on a schedule to get a big project completed in a limited time-frame and Travis and his crew came through for us, exceeding our expectations. He and Colin visited to provide a quote for replacing a vent-less fireplace with a direct vented fireplace. We were impressed with the attention to detail and idea to recess the TV which was going above the fireplace. Travis managed the project from start to finish (including ordering the chosen fireplace). He and his team consulted with us at every step of the process to make sure the work was completed to our satisfaction. We were pleased to see Warren (Travis's father) on the day that work began. The crew of four paid attention to details, were courteous and careful in our home and worked very well and efficiently as a team. Drop cloths and plywood sheets were used to protect our hardwood floors and all unwanted debris was removed from our home for us. The scheduling of sub-contractors went without a hitch and Travis also managed the permit process and the work passed inspection first time. The fireplace looks amazing and we are delighted with the result. We would not hesitate to recommend Reece's Klean Sweep and would certainly use them again ourselves.
Description of Work: Remove of concrete face and vent-less fireplace; installed duravent pipe to run venting through attic and out the roof; ordered and installed Napoleon ldh50 fireplace, framed TV recess; scheduled sub-contractors for drywall repair; electrical subcontractor; ordered permit. Work took place over the course of a week.

Travis (the owner of the company,) and his partner Colin were both extremely knowlegable about ALL aspects of chimney work. They know everything one can know about them I believe! Every question I had for them, (and I had MANY!!) they would answer in an appropriate manner and explained to me things I didn't understand. One of our chimney's hadn't been cleaned in years; it was used for burning coal and had been sealed off for many, many years. Travis and Colin used this high tech device to see what was inside the chimney and they found some bricks that were supposed to be attached by morter, but the morter over the years had turned to dust! This surprizing "turn of events" didn't phase them at all and they took great care to ensure that they could safely and properly remove the bricks and clean out the chimney. We have already hired them to come back and put in a stainless steel liner in the front chimney so we can have a wood burning stove in front of the shallow fireplace. I usually don't write review, but I made an exception. I am a Type A personality when it comes to wanting people who will take great care in doing repairs on our home. I pestered them with questions and when they came, I knew I was in such good hands I could just leave them alone and know that all the work they were doing would be done expertly. They also did a fine job in preventing all the black coal that was in the chimney from coming into our living room too! Travis and Colin are both very smart, college educated and definately know what they are doing!
Description of Work: Cleaned and inspected two chimney's, installed a thimble, stubbed and put in a stainless steel liner inside of back chimney so the gas water heater could vent properly and installed a stainless steel chimney cap.

A neighbor had telephoned to tell me that I had a small shrub growing out the top of one chimney flue. I live in a 1917 bungalow. Reece's Klean Sweep responded most quickly for an estimate, showing up the next day. The other two contractors weren't able to come by until later the following week. After inspecting both chimneys and all flues as well as the furnace in the crawlspace basement, Reece's explained that the simple fix would be to simply cap the four open flues, both used and unused, but that the longer-term solution would be to insert a steel flue liner as well as a cap. The second chimney already had this for the flue to the gas fireplace. I opted for the liner alternative ? best to do the job properly. They scheduled the work for 14 days out, which suited my schedule. They called 3 days later to say that they had an unexpected opening if I wanted the work done the next day. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take them up on the offer. The scheduled day, they arrived as scheduled first thing in the morning. Within a few hours, they were finished (reducing the original estimate by a couple hundred because the work had gone so quickly and smoothly). I did have ?because I always do? several technical questions. They answered all of them fully and clearly. Great, efficient, and exceedingly affable fellows. I heartily recommend them and would hire them again without hesitation.
Description of Work: Removed shrub growing from top of a chimney. Cleaned and removed debris from flue and gas heater junction (about 2 gallons). Cut and removed extra flue above chimney (about 2 feet). Installed metal flue liner from roof to basement. Capped furnace flue. Covered several unused flues with steel caps.

I'm extremely satisfied. The provider came to my home exactly when scheduled. The work took about an hour, exactly as estimated. The cost was $155, exactly as quoted beforehand. The two gentlemen who did the work were courteous, professional, friendly and clean. They left my house exactly as they had found it; there was nothing for me to clean up after they left. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Every time it rained heavily, water was leaking out of our fireplace. Although an appointment could not be made for several weeks, it was well worth the wait; Klean Sweep is in high demand and for good reason. Mr Reece showed up on time, quickly identified the problem and provided 2 options to remedy the problem. Our fireplace does not leak anymore when it rains heavily. I would not hesitate to recommend Klean Sweep

My husband and I moved into an older home that had served as a rental for many years. We recently discovered that our chimney had multiple cracks in the flue, and that the height did not meet code. Reeces installed a flue liner and insulation, and extended the flue height to meet code requirements, and improve performance. I was pleased with their service from start to finish. When I called for information I was given an accurate, detailed picture of what to expect. On the day of the scheduled estimate they were prompt and efficient. On that day they were able to pinpoint the problems and tell me what needed to be done without being pushy, or trying to sell services that we didn't need. They were also able to advise me on the condition of the current wood stove that had been in the home for several years. I received an estimate via email within 24 hours. Upon review, we felt that the price was fair and scheduled the job. On the day of repairs they were on time and ready to work. They commenced to their job immediately. When the work was complete they cleaned up after themselves and left the area just as it was when they arrived. No leftover bits of trash or debris. The only evidence that they had been here is the repaired flue. Reeces is knowledgeable and professional. They care about delivering quality work. In the course of our business, we learned that they also install pipe for gas heat (which is something we plan to install as soon as possible). We were so impressed with Reeces Klean Sweep that we asked them to do an estimate for that work as well! In a world where sketchy customer service is the rule rather than the exception, Reece's Kleen Sweep was a breath of fresh air. It was SO nice to know that the chimney repair was done right, and that our safety is no longer compromised when we use our wood stove. I highly recommend them and will use them again!
Description of Work: We had multiple cracks in our flue liner. Also the flue height was too short, and did not meet code. This affected the ability to prevent smoke from getting into the basement.

We discovered this company on Angie's List. We phoned them. They came promptly to size up the situation and bid the job. They offered but did not press to sell us a fireplace insert, but we had decided on an insert from another source already. They still gladly installed the one we had purchased elsewhere.
Description of Work: Reece's Kleen Sweep installed our wood burning fireplace insert after cleaning the chimney and installing the metal tube that went up the chimney. They were totally professional. We had to wait a few weeks for service because they are in demand, but they came when they said they would, completed the job in part of a day and reduced the charge slightly because it did not take all day. They totally cleaned up after their work. We are totally satisfied.

They were backed up, so it took several weeks for them to get out to the house. Once they did, they immediately found the problem, and told me what needed to be done. They indicated they couldn't do the work themselves in a timely manner, as they were swamped with requests, but they were very professional and told me what I needed to have done to the chimney. They did not charge me for the evaluation!

The entire process went smoothly. Mr Reece was responsive to questions and carefully and respectfully entered our home. I was not at home at the time of installation, but my husband reported that it took most of the day. Since installation, we have been very pleased with both the amount of heat provided and the overall look of the unit. After doing quite a lot of research and discussing the options with other companies, we were worried that we would need to alter the fireplace in order to get a unit to fit in the small firebox. The varieties of units which would fit the present space we had seen up until meeting with Mr. Reece were not appealing. Mr. Reece was able to locate a unit which looks great and fits the current space without alteration.
Description of Work: We purchased an older home with multiple chimneys and fireplaces, none of which was functional. After performing some research on our own and discussing the issues with various other companies, we decided to go with a gas fireplace insert. We have a toddler and felt this was the safest and cleanest option. Because of the size of the firebox, we were limited in what would fit. Mr. Reece and his team came over at the agreed upon time to evaluate the firebox. He then offered a selection of inserts he felt would fit. These were relayed by email. He and his team then ordered one of these units and when it arrived, he came over to see if it would fit and how it would look. After we all agreed that we liked the unit, he came back over to install the unit.
