Fence Scapes

99% of the 3 rail horse fence was superior quality at a great price. Mark was very responsive to a couple small quality issues that arose. I have used Fence Scapes twice now and would use them again. That being said the main problem we had was 50% deposit up front to get in line, an estimated 2 month wait that turned into 3 months, Mark rarely returns your calls unless you are the next job, and sometimes not even then. It seemed that there were always delays that put off the start of the job or it's completion. Mark always had a variety of creative excuses, but I'm sure he was just squeezing in more lucrative jobs.

i booked mark 3 months in advance. he told me up front that he was busy, but that if i could wait he would build me a great fence. this was true. the work was delayed a bit due to weather and unforeseen circumstances on another job, but mark ALWAYS answers his phone and he continuously let me know what was going on. once the job started, they showed up on time, and worked like crazy until the job was promptly finished. his crew was respectful and polite, and even helped me move some furniture in my home when they were waiting on materials. i could not have been more impressed with the job they did. i would hire mark again any time. he's polite, honest, and professional.

Everything went great! They were very accommodating. They were extremely timely. The quality was excellent. We asked for a special order and they were the only company that could provide a 10 foot tall fence. Their prices are very reasonable also!

Fence Scapes scheduled a time to come out and make repairs. Their work was flawless.

Mark showed up when scheduled to provide a quote. Work was started a little later than initially discussed, but I did express some flexibility. Mark and staff are very friendly and perform good work. The fence is made of nice material and I feel satisfied with the overall construction of the fence. Further, Mark recommended a certain type of wire fence along the back that looks great. The three gates are nicely built and installed on-site and have nice latches. His price was the best of three quotes I received. My complaints are that there was some lack of professionalism on the part of Mark and his crew. The workers left their materials and some tools after each day in a haphazard fashion around my property. This included wood and power chords strewn about the yard as well as the excess dirt used to dig the post holes. This was particularly frustrating when they completed work on Friday evening and left the tool/materials until Monday morning, without any sort of contact from Mark until I called him. I also caught the staff chucking fence post tops that they had cut to the back of my property, without asking permission to do so. It is clear that Mark does not have a large staff and that they were working on multiple jobs at one time. I cannot fault a company for maximizing time with multiple jobs, especially when certain parts of a project (such as setting posts) requires some down time. However, it felt to me that for the price I paid, they could have finished the project about half of a day sooner and paid a little more attention to detail. All of these comments aside, I want to repeat that the quality of the fence work was high and the finished product is excellent.

Fence Scapes did an excellent job. We got quotes from three different companies and Fence Scapes had the best price. They were very careful in marking where the fence should go and continued to seek our input throughout the installation. The workers were friendly, but professional. We were very pleased that they asked us questions about the exact placement of the fence because the sloping terrain and the irregular dimensions of the yard could have made the placement of the fence a challenge. They never made a mess and they cleaned up the area after they left. We love the way the fence looks and have received many compliments from our neighbors, family, and friends.

Fence Scapes is a very talented group. They put in a fabulous gate. Mark is very easy to work with and wants to make the customer happy.

Mark and his team did a great job building a 260ft fence from a picture we provided. Mark was personable, his guys professional and polite. Supports his work, resolved small issue with a gate not closing properly promptly. Provided suggestions and talked us through the pro Enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend.

We've used them a couple of times. He's a nice young man. He has helped us well. He made several trips, buying different things for the electronics and wiring for the gate. He ended up having to replace several parts on the gate.

Work was perfect! first fence was built a year ago and looks like it was just put up. Shade structure is better than we thought we could afford and the property line fence is almost done. I highly recommend Fencescapes. In fact, we have several more jobs around our school and we intend to use them again and again. Thanks!

Everything went as planned. It was important to us that the fence fit the style of our home but also was a safe barrier to keep our small dogs in. They suggested a 2x2 wire mesh that naturally grays and pretty much dissappears to install behind the split rail. They also made 3 gates on site per our instructions. All works well and one year after construction is aging nicely. Would absolutely recommend them. Work was on time, on budget, good quality and they were courteous while here which I always appreciate.

Mark and his guys were wonderful to work with. They did have a waiting list but he told us up front about how long it would be before he could start. His price, professionalism and creative solutions to some terrain problems made his company an easy choice. We had a previous bid that was substantially higher and we weren't as impressed with the person who came out. Our project got delayed a week because of bad weather but that's the breaks. They were worth the wait. It also felt good to know he doesn't use temporary help to get him through the busy times - we trusted the crew's work and integrity. I would highly recommend Fence Scapes to anyone who wants quality work at a great price.

He did an amazing job on my fence. The gates are included in the total price and the gates are fine. If there is a problem, like if I don't know how to do something, he will do it. He makes good suggestions. If I have more fencing to do, he will be the one I call.

The fence itself is awesome. Very well built and excellent craftsmanship. However it took nearly 3 months between the time I paid a deposit and when the job was started. I can understand because of the weather but I would have liked more updates/contact from them. Also the limbs and trees they cut away from the fence they just left around the ground, so we spent hours cleaning up after the fence was completed.

Very well, Mark and his team work extremely hard in cold conditions, only the poor weather delayed the final installation date. The finished fence and gates look fantastic. I chose fence scapes from 3 local companies, Mark seemed to know what he was talking about and gave a good price, not the cheapest price. The job site was clean after they left, they did exactly what they said they would do. I like the fact Mark is very good at either answering his phone or calling back within minutes of leaving a message, unlike many suppliers on my project. I am not from the area and have selected all my contractors from Angie's List.

I was very pleased with the work performed by Mark and his crew. I recently moved and needed a fence installed for my dog. He was easy to get in touch with and did the work in a timely manner. I needed the fence to match the neighbors ajoining fence and he was able to cut the boards to match perfectly. He was very professional as was his crew. The neighbor also commented on how nice the fence looked.

Great! Came out quickly to give the estimate, kept in contact the left us know the install date, and did the work in 2 days. Set all posts by hand, using a full bag of concrete in each hole. Boards were full 5/4 treated and planed with rounded edges. Installer, Luis, had great attention to detain on all joints. Terrain was a little hilly, but he worked around this.

Probably one of the most difficult company I have tried to contact for a quote. Original call 9/10/13 and Mark was in TN. Called back the next week and had bad connection but left voice mail. Contacted Mark again 9/20/13 and requested a quote, but he said he did not work weekends. Called the following Mon 9/23/13 and Tues. 9/24/13 and left voice mail messages both times. Calls were not returned.

I thought they were awesome, the guy was easy to get a hole of, if he was going to be late for anything, he would give me a call, I was very pleased with them. The people who came out were very professional and very good.

Fence posts were set by Marks employees and a few days later they returned with Mark to install and stretch the fence. All went well except some of the hardware for the gates were galvanized not factory black coated, these were painted black and looked OK but the painted parts are easily scratched showing the galvanizing underneath. One of the gates had the posts set too close so the gate will only open one way and plies of dirt from the post-holes were never cleaned up or spread out (minor point but still more work for me). The fence is 80 percent good so not many problems there. The deck is another issue. Mark had a couple of his employes show up to work on the deck (mark only showed up to collect the last payment) ... the deck was constructed to comply with the city codes but NO extra effort was made to better or stronger. Nails were used in the construction instead of screws (nail guns are quicker than screw guns) when a structural defiency was discovered the crew were just going to deck over it until I commented on it and suggested a solution. The newly added joists were not screwedin as requested but again nailed in. I asked that the deck boards be screwed in and Mark assured me that by using these special screws in the nail guns that depth and penetration could be better monitored and controlled ... the fasteners left holes 1/4 inch deep in the deck so now I have 10,000 places for water, dirt and mold to accumulate. The railing were made spanning over 10 ft which when I asked about was told it was perfectly fine now there is warping occurring because there is no support in the center. Posts were fastened using one screw each (would it break the bank to use 2?) . decks were not tied to support posts so deck rattle when you walk on them. as stated earlier Mark came out the day after the deck was done to collect the final payment. I was shown a bill on a tablet device which I paid and requested a copy. After 3 months many emails, phone calls, promises and it is in the mail excuses I have yet to get a copy of what it costs me. I am giving Mark a low rating because he and his crew was focused on getting the job done as quickly and cheaply as possible and showed no consideration or pride in their work. I would recommend that you find a contractor that will do it right the first time

They did a great job. Communication was clear and consistent. Finishing it up took a bit longer than expected, but owner kept me informed and returned for a few issues of concern until I was satisfied. He was patient with me, as I couldn't always respond as quickly as he did (crazy moving week!). I would highly recommend!
