Fence Scapes

Excellent work performed. Posts properly removed and re-installed with concrete. Trench under wire mesh dug and back filled so that wire mesh went below ground. This sealed the dog run area well. Green wire against the two split rail fence becomes almost invisible to the naked eye. Every thing cleaned up when work was completed.

Mark came out to take a look at the job and said he would get back to us with a quote in "the next few days." Two weeks later, no quote, had to comtact him - he said, "I'll get it to you tonight." Three days later the quote arrives and is not itemized..just a descriptor of the work that needed to be done and a lump sum.. I asked for an itemized quote, he replied that he would get it to me that evening...that was over a month ago.

No effective response to two requests for quote.

He never showed up after several calls.

Seemed good when I called on the first saturday and the owner answered. He said he is "ten weeks out" which didn't matter to us. But, don't say you are going to schedule an appointment to estimate more work if you can't.

Mark's crew was professional, friendly, and efficient. The project involved some areas of fairly steep slopes, so that added some complexity. They were up to the task. Start to finish, the project was completed in two days. The FenceScapes quote was as little as half what another quote was. On the strength of other Angie's List reviews, I went with them, and am completely satisifed.

Mark showed up almost on time for the estimate. He had the estimate immediately, and modified it in a couple of days when I added moving back the heavy gates. He scheduled it for two weeks out on a weekend (a small enough job for his workers to do on a weekend), and his workman were on time. (The first day they came an hour late, but Mark had the courtesy to call and let me know). His men were pleasant and hard-working and efficient. They ran into unexpected problem with the heavy gate, so they couldn't finish it on Sunday, and, they remedied that by coming on Monday to complete the job. It looks great. The whole experience was positive. He kept to his price guidelines even though there was more work than was expected. I would use Fence Scapes again in a heartbeat.

We had a picket fence installed and are very happy with it. The fence posts were set in concrete and the fence was custom built on site. It's a really great quality fence for the price. Mark's workers were very nice and courteous. They made sure they were building the fence to our expectations. You do need to be flexible with the estimated date for the fence to be built. Our fence was built two weeks after the estimated date. In the end we didn't mind the timing difference because of the price and quality of the fence.

We cannot trust that the gate won't open for unknown reasons and our pets get out, which has happened. Apparently the reasons for this aren't known. There have been some changes made which hopefully will help but that is not known yet. The gate closes VERY slowly, much slower than any gate we've had which is ridiculous. Supposedly this is for safety but this is way too slow. The fence itself was nicely done.

From the beginning to the end I would recommend Mark and his crew. Mark was on time with our initial appointment and kept us informed of where we were on his schedule as we went along. The estimate was quick and fair. We had some hiccups with the HOA but Mark was very patient, helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant when we had to choose a completely different fence than we originally wanted. The crew was fast, efficient and clean. Other than a new fence, you couldn't even tell they had been there! Would highly recommend Fence Scapes!

They did a fantastic job. It was a smooth job start to finish. I would definitely recommend.

Their prices are good and Mark is a nice guy. If that's all you're looking for, go for it. We got very frustrated with the promises made that were not even close to being kept. Timing was promised and then ignored for weeks. The quality is very poor. Edges of railing, that connect to the columns on front porch have 5+ inches of space. Fortunately, the inspectors didn't catch this, so it passed. We already have rust coming through at the points where the pickets meet the top and middle bars. We had to ask that Mark come back and change out the stainless steel screws installed into a bronze railing. Also, these screws were wood screws, so they didn't sit flat on the railing metal. Details that should be obvious to a craftsman. They drilled into our stone steps and installed the handrail posts and didn't plan on putting a "shoe" over this hole filled with concrete.

I contacted this company to set up an appointment for an estimate and an appointment was scheduled. The date and time of the appointment came and they were a no call no show. I called to figure out what happened. We then scheduled for another appointment the following week. Again they were a no call no show and I have not heard from them since.

I had this done in the middle of summer - the busiest season so scheduling was an issue but that's to be expected even if it's a small job like mine, and it took time to get the order processed as the manufacturer is the same for most of the fence installers in this area. The fence is beautiful and I am very pleased with the results. My family and neighbors have made so many nice comments about how it has tremendously improved the look of my yard. My only disappointment is that the double gate has to lock from the front yard instead of the back - I wish there had been more communication before that part was done. It's not really noticeable from the street and is just a minor inconvenience. The B for punctuality is due to one post was bent during the installation and it took some time to get it replaced - they did and it's great. The pricing is a B because it was a small job and was still so expensive - only about $100 - $200 different from other installers - I think they were all overpriced for the job. I got 3 quotes - one was higher and one lower - went with this company because of Angie's list reviews.

I just do not understand. A business owner, such as this fence company owner, signs up with Angies list, to drum up business. I, as a new Hendersonville area resident AND a potential customer, pay a fee to Angies list, to find quality businesses. It did not work for me. The business owner failed me. Angies list also failed me. I am NOT just thinking about buying and installing a fence for my dogs, I NEED AND WANT this fence to be done ...... now. To leave TWO messages for the fence business owner ..... and then that same business owner does not have the courtesy and professionalism to return a phone call to me is totally unacceptable. Such a business person should be removed from Angies List. No room for such a person who will not communicate with a potential customer, in a civil and professional manner.

Requested contact and quote for fencing in my yard. Business did not even respond to request. A service provider should not advertise on a service website if they are not going to respond to service requests. Out of the three quote requests I put in on Angie's List, only one company got back with me, after I responded with acceptable date and address they did not even respond again. If you're in the same situation, I ended up getting Lowes to come out. Not the experience I wanted, but still did get a 10 year warranty and the pet containment I needed.

Mark saw my earlier negative review and called to apologize. We discussed my fencing needs and he gave me a price with a discount over the phone. I have upgraded my ratings as a result, and should I use his company to build the fence I will update this review again.

Mark was promp, pleasant and explained things in detail. He made adjustments to minimize the disruption of scenic views by the fence and worked well with our contractor.

They were very easy to work with and flexible. They did the work as promised and on time. Would definitely use them for a future job.

James was very great to work with. He came the day I called in April and gave me a quote right then. I had received two other quotes prior. James's quote fell in the middle. What made me go with him was how professional and how quick he was. And let me tell you, I am so glad we did. He started putting fence around our pool when we discovered upon opening our pool that we need to have a part of the pool repaired. James was very understanding and agreed to finish the fence when we had the repair done so that we wouldn't have to take the fence down. We did not call James back until October and he was over the next day to finish the fence. It looks fabulous!!! So very happy with our experience with British Fences.

They were very pleasant and cleaned up after themselves. They also did some clearing before putting up the fence. They worked even when it was extremely cold. We were impressed with the work they did. Mr. Morris, the owner, was very accomodating and friendly.

Installation went great, quality of workmanship and the fence itself is excellent.

Mark did a great job. He responded promptly to my request for a quote and provided it on-site. He worked through customized details in a very patient manner. His crew made a small mistake on one of the interpretations when he wasn't there, but they fixed it promptly and without frustration. Mark was always very prompt with responses. You could tell he was managing a lot of work, but to me that is a sign that he is doing good work and being kept busy with referrals. I would use Mark again in a heartbeat.
