Description of Work: Replaced the motor for the garage door opener. It took a LONG time, but I was charged only the quoted price.

Description of Work: Called and asked what the problem was. When I described it, he said it was probably a misdirected photocell, told me how to fit it if it was. "Can save you the cost of a service call. If that's not the problem, let me know." It was, took about five minutes to fix. Send an email thanking the provider. He could easily made a service call, collected his money and been gone it five minutes. As is, I would recommend him to anyone needing garage door work and would certainly call him if I have furture problems.

Description of Work: We purchased a home that had been empty for several years. We had problems with our garage door closing in the early part of the day- when the sun was shining on the door. It was extremely bothersome. |The service man examined the motor, door, spring and sensors, making adjustments and solved our problem. He also assured us that the product is a good one and should last many years. |We felt the service charge was high, but we live about 25 minutes from the business, so that might have been part of the cost.

Description of Work: My garage door opener had locked up and was ready for replacement. He inspected the door the day after we spoke on the phone and he gave me a price. He had two guys that he sent to do the install. Because the metal at the top of my door was fatigued, they relocated the new unit to mount on a more solid place on the door and installed an additional brace to transfer the load over a wider portion of the door. I was very pleased with the result and i will be verbally recommending AGDS at every opportunity. Excellent result from my first use of Angies List.

Description of Work: Bam! Crash! My garage door just broke so I thought I'd fix it myself. Not gonna happen because the tension spring was snapped. I called Asheville Garage Door Service. They had a very late night appointment which worked for us. The tech called and said he could come now vs late so we stayed home and he showed up immediately. He repaired the door, adjusted the tracks and replaced the cables on the sides. The cost was about the same as me buying the parts and doing the work. I was glad not to do the work because of the high tension springs can lead to serious injury.
