Morris and Moffitt Inc

The brick and center column was removed to install a new header beam. The brick was replaced and a new garage door installed. The project was finished timely and looks great, you can't see where the brick was replaced on the house that is ten years old. Alan was the project manager and made sure the project was done to perfection. I highly recomend using Morris and Moffitt Inc. and I will use them for any other projects in the future.

It went very well! They were timely and professional. There was one member of the crew that had to be chastised, but they handled that internally in a professional manner. Outside of that one person, the rest of the crew was wonderful. They have a very diverse workforce, which is something that I really like. They were polite and courteous while in my home. I decided to go with them because of the manager. When he initally came out to bid on the job he was very professional and kind. A lot of times, as a woman, contractors can be patronizing and he was not at all. I could call him any time I thought there may be an issue. He really was my deciding factor, but they also placed a competitive bid which I also got in writing.

Well I don't know what say for the most recent bad review,but we have used Morris and Moffitt for a complete renovation on our Lake home and have been completely satisfied with their work. they do what they say they will do. We have been extremely happy with all of their subcontractors, by the way they are all background checked. We have used them exclusively for the past four years, and being very detailed oriented myself, everything has been completed to my satisfaction, and if there was a problem , addressed immediately. This is a second home for us, and they had made it very easy for us to complete the large scale project via email, texts and pics. As we come up with new projects, Morris and Moffitt is the only call we make because that's how good they are!

Morris and Moffitt was very responsive and helpful. They completed the project in a timely manner and for a fair price. I am very happy with the results and will definitely use them again.

9/16/2014 - Met with a gentlemen named Jake for the first time. Provided them with as much detail as possible including kitchen measurements and detailed sketch drawings of what we wanted. Seemed professional and knowledgeable based on the initial meeting. 10/7/2014- After about 3 weeks of no response, I inquired with Jake and let him know my wife and I were "eager to get things in motion on these home projects" and if he was still interested in giving us a quote for the work. I was told to "look for something by week end". I also received a followup email same day asking about letting his "cabinet" guys come out and do measurements that same week. The cabinet company was New Life Building Supplies, LLC. Cabinet guys failed to make the first appointment. I'm not sure if this was the fault of Morris and Moffitt or the cabinet company. Cabinet guys finally made it the following Monday to measure and gave us the impression that we would have something by the end of the week. 11/6/2014 - Its now approaching two months since our first meeting and I still have no quote for either project. I do not plan on using this provider as if the quoting process is any indication, these projects would drag out and take far too long. Very disappointing experience overall.

We recently purchased a new home that needed immediate attention, mostly to update the rooms. We asked for a number of estimates and while M&M wasn't the least expensive, we were impressed with the level of detail and transparency in the quote so we moved forward. Alan from M&M was great to work with - focused on what we needed to get done, on-point with suggestions, and made it a point to visit our house almost daily. He also was in constant contact, either via phone, email or text. Most of the work was sub-contracted out but the caliber of everyone (electrician, carpentry, etc) was top-notch. While our floor installation was fairly easy, the built-in's were challenging because of our design and we found the M&M team to be punctual, flexible, and hit the mark on what we wanted. Overall we are very happy with the work and would recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

No one ever returned my call to give me any information.

I couldn't of asked for a better experience then what David and his crew provided. My home is an older ranch built in the 60s. The bathroom was mostly original and was showing signs of water damage where the old cast iron tub met the tile wall. Using Angie's List, I received 4 quotes from 4 different contractors. 3 of the 4 quotes came within $500-$750 of each other (the 4th was just so nuts it wasn't even worth considering). I went w/M&M because David was very professional, his quote was extremely detailed, and he understood our sense of urgency in getting this bathroom renovated as quickly as possible (this is our only full bathroom in the house....the YMCA knew me on a first name basis very quickly). From beginning to end David and his crew worked w/our design ideas and always kept the budget in line. His recommended tile vender was very fair and when I noticed I could find specific materials cheaper online, David was fine with whatever I ordered as long as it was at the house for his crew to install. None of the other contractors were this accommodating. In the end the the project was complete in the 21 day time frame David promised and we couldn't happier w/the final results. And more importantly, the water damage was repaired and no more leaks. I would highly recommend Morris & Moffit to any home project, even just to get a quote. Going through this project proved to me you need to get quotes from multiple venders to not only keep the contractors honest, but to help the educate the homeowner on how much a given project will cost. The $8,750 represents both the cost from Morris & Moffitt and the other material cost I purchased directly.

After seeing the good reports and the A rating for Morris and Moffett, I emailed them through Angie?s List to set up an appointment. David Zelch came out to give me an estimate and arrived promptly at the time agreed on. The former owners had left a situation which resulted in my floor sagging in my downstairs powder room. It also affected the small hall outside the door and caused my nearby living room door and a coat closet in the hall to jam. In addition, I wanted to have vinyl put down in the powder room, hall and three other rooms. The estimate was right on. (He had mentioned that if they found additional problems there might be additional costs, but there were none.) The work done on the bathroom floor absolutely fixed the problem ? no more sagging floor and the two doors were easy to open. Then he had a subcontractor come in to lay the vinyl. It was beautifully done. I had a floor board pattern and everything was lined up on moving from room to room. They also cleaned up and there were no messes left. The workers were pleasant and obviously extremely efficient. Overall, I was thrilled with the professionalism and quality. Would I hire them again, most definitely. In fact, I am planning to have them lay vinyl in my new home.

Morris & Moffit, inc. came highly recommended by a friend of ours. Although this was a small project, David Zelch helped us as if it was a big budget project. Very easy to communicate with and listened to our concerns and wishes. He helped us find a remnant of marble that was surprisingly hard to find. David was also on site to make sure his tradesmen did everything we had hoped to do. Our house was kept clean during the process and all work was done on time and slightly below estimate. We are thrilled with the results and plan to use M & M, inc in the future. Thank you!

We are extremely pleased with both the process, and the finished result provided. The workers were skilled, hard working, and polite; the project manager, Esiquio Uribe, was attentive to the smallest detail. Our tile floors are perfectly laid - with straight and consistently spaced grout lines; trim was installed and painted to give a well finished appearance. They also were sure to clean up after themselves, even taking the time and effort to shine the floor!

There was a couple of water stains on the ceiling in my dining room. The contractor determined that the caulking for the window in the upstairs bedroom was responsible. As we inspected other windows, it appeared that caulking in other windows was possibly failing as well. The job included pulling and replacing caulking for all windows and repairing the ceiling in the dinning room. The job took a day and a half. The repairs started and ended on the days originally scheduled. They were very responsive in providing an estimate and scheduling the repairs. The actual repairs did not require as much work or materials as originally estimated. Once the workers were able to fully access the area, it was determined no water damage was in the areas hidden by sheetrock. The final price was reduced to match the work actually performed. For the work that was conducted inside the house, they were very good in covering the area to prevent dirt and dust from spreading and cleaned the area when they finished. Everyone I worked with was very professional. I was very satisfied with the quality, price and professionalism of their staff.

Alan was punctual meeting the time agreed for his visit. The qualities that impressed me are punctuality, courteous, supplies suggestions to improve the remodeling concept of the project, and delivery of estimate before promised date. The attention to detail on the estimate gave me a vision of how well their business is managed. I anticipate using the services of Morris and Moffitt and promise to keep updated the audience of Angie's List.

Everything went well, some miscommunication once but it was straightened out . All the men were polite and professional and the were very tidy at the end of the day.

We have used them to give us a quote for some doors on our deck but we haven't decided on whom to go with yet for that. He sent roofers out the same day to tarp it. Then two days later we agreed on the price and they came out and fixed the roof which was excellent. They did a great job and they were really good. They came out very quickly. It was pretty expensive. They were very efficient and very fast to come out. I thought the pricing was a little high.

It went well. David was friendly and punctual. His work teams (subcontractors) weren't bad either. They were friendly, though not quite as punctual. The work took only a day or two longer than expected, but I am happy with the quality.

Overall Morris & Moffitt is very good. We had an inspection that said we had extensive water damaged to our bathroom. When he actually went in and lifted up the bathtub it was not as extensive as they thought. He probably cut a run with it and said there was damage, said he fixed this and that but he said it’s not as bad as we thought. He’s workers are very pleasant. Price is very fair.

I had a full bath and a powder room that were having issues with cracked tile, corroded plumbing lines, and I wanted the 3-handle shower converted to a 1-handle and an exhaust fan installed. Esiquio was the project manager through the whole project. He came out and we talked about what I wanted and the price was right, but most importantly they were able to start work very soon while most others I contacted had a several month wait-list. I had a new tenant moving in April 1 and I needed to have the bathrooms done before that so Morris and Moffitt was my contractor of choice. Esiquio responded to calls or emails promptly and he came by to check on the work and the subs every day. He let me know what was happening that day and would check up after to make sure it was done to my satisfaction. The subs were all clean and punctual. I was home for the entire project so I saw everyone in and out of my house. I would have no issue with any of them in my house alone. The put down protective plastic, took of work shoes while inside, and always cleaned up afterward. They had a lot of shoddy DIY work from the previous homeowner to clean up and they did. I will have my kitchen redone in a couple years and Morris and Moffitt will definitely be the first contractor I contact.

Every aspect of the project was done on schedule, and done very well. All of Moffitt's subcontractors were professional, respectful, and performed beyond expectation. Being a skilled woodworker myself, I wanted the project only completed to the point where I could take over and do all the interior finishing, trim, and cabinetry. Moffitt's crew performed very well, and respected the limits we initially set. This contractor, and his subcontractors are "good people" -- ones that I would like to call friends. Through the lifespan of the project Moffitt provided interim reports on the budget, because any time you cut into an older home you will encounter surprises calling for additional expense and compromise. All the "surprises" were worked out to our satisfaction without significant impact to the original estimate. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a home remodel. Moffitt was on-site nearly every day checking on progress and scheduling next steps. He was also quick to communicate via text message for anything needing attention, up-coming inspections, etc. We're entirely happy with Moffitt's work, and would not hesitate giving Morris & Moffitt future business.

Everything they did was very professional and beyond. The company that packed all our stuff came and unpacked and put everything right back as they found it. Morris and Moffitt had cleaning people come out and clean 3 times (before unpacking was done and twice after it was done) so that everything was to our satisfaction. Right after everything was done about 4 days later we noticed 2 planks in front of the dishwasher buckled again and we saw that the dishwasher was leaking again. We called them and they immediately came out with machines again and a plumber. They did not charge us for the drying out again and worked out a fair price with the plumber and contractor to replace the 2 planks that needed to be replaced. (the dishwasher had 2 different leaks that our plumber did not realize). Overall they were very professional and I would definitely use them again if needed.

We hired them after finding them on Angie’s List. The house was vacant at the time and they completed the job in about three and a half weeks. We dealt closely with Allen Moffit. He was very responsive, professional, and detail oriented. We thought that the cost was a good value for the work that they did. They did a great job with the work. We are already having them estimate additional projects for us.

Poor communication. Overall I did not get what I was expecting and will have to make changes to the attic space to keep an open storage area. I requested that they keep it open yet they have 2x4s all over the place. Just a big mess. They left off soffit boards and will have to put those up myself. I guess you get what you pay for as this was done with insurance claim. Initial estimate was for around $10,000 and ended up with a bill for $14,200. I'm just not thrilled with the whole experience.

Alan and his team were extremely professional and very reasonably priced. They explained everything in detail before the work started and did an excellent job. I am very pleased with the results and highly recommend Morris & Moffitt. I plan to use them for future remodeling efforts.

The rep that answered the initial call asked all of the right questions, and assured me that they were interested in doing the long list of remodeling projects, on my home, that we talked about.. She assured me that someone would call back shortly to come to the house, and give an estimate for the work to be done. That was the last that I heard from this company. If they decided that they did not want to do this work, they should have given me notice, by way of a phone call as professionals do.
