I bought the coupon of $85 for 2 hours of services and contacted Troy. It took about a month to get him to come out to look at the works that I would like to get done. It then took another three weeks for him to come back with an estimate which was very reasonable. He said he would come to do the job the following week but never called until three weeks later. At that point, I already found another handyman.

Of all six plumbers I contacted for estimates on my bathroom renovation (replacing cracked old tile walls around my tub with a surround and replacing the 1950's era fixtures), Troy was the only one who gave the project intelligent, logical thought. Instead of trying to boost the cost of the job by selling me on more than I needed, he did what needed to be done, and did it remarkably well. Troy consistently arrived when he said he was going to and did the job he promised. He left the area clean and neat each day, and left the bathroom (which is the only one in my house) as functional as possible given the stage of construction he had reached. He made my old tub area clean and contemporary, and was even able to re-use some old tile to make the walls meet the new surround neatly. He completed the project on time and within the budget. Used to fix a dry wall and some light repair work.

Came to house for estimate. Said I would have a quote in "a few days". Did not here from him in a week. Contacted to find out if I would receive it soon. Never did. It has been 2+ weeks and still nothing

Troy answered his phone when he is able, otherwise we have left voice messages on his service. We gave him a "shopping list" of projects needed to be done on the outside of the house, which he said he will submit a quote on all projects. He did not send the quote on the day as promised but apologized when I called to ask when he will be sending it. The next day it arrived by email, and a couple days later I called to tell him what needed to be done at this time. Because of the weather he started a couple of days later. I provided the materials he needed. It took two days to do the selected projects. I was pleased with the work that he did.

I purchased the Angie's list deal that was offered by TR Home Improvements. The deal offered 2 hours of handyman type work for $60. I had several projects I wanted done but was unsure of how much time would be involved. Troy was very good about providing estimates and helping to coordinate the work so it fell within the parameters of the deal. The quality of work was good and he left no messes behind. Communication could have been better as there were a few delays in returned voicemails, emails, and estimates.

Troy did a good job. He's very honest and his prices are reasonable. Got right back to me when I initially contacted him.

Overall it went well. we had a lot of delay due to rain, but it finally cleared up and it was done by the end of June. The stain company I chose had a formula change and that caused some differences in color of the stains I chose, but we came up with a pretty good final choice. If I had the new formula in hand before things would have gone smoother. Troy is a very detail oriented person which I like and from the start he explained how things were going to go, so there were no surprises. (except for the formulation change which was unforseen). He contracted out the painting to another company, which did an outstanding job. Troy was on top of everything and communicated very well when things were going to happen.

We were very happy with Troy's work. The price was right, things were done according to planned dates and there were no surprise additions to the bill. Outside of a few minor clean-up issues at the end we were very happy with the work that was done and would certainly recommend TR Home Improvements for any exterior painting job.

I called Troy for an estimate to install several replacement windows. His price was lower than what I was quoted at the home improvement store where I purchased the windows. He had an excellent rating on Angie's list so I decided to hire him to do the work. He was punctual and took the time to do the work correctly-as if he were installing them is his own home. Since then I've had him do other repairs at my home. Troy has very high standards and his work reflects this. I would highly recommend him!

He was early for our appointment, he was professional and he did a great job mounting our cabinets. He even helped move our piano to a different location.

Troy Rosebrock is a consummate professional handyman, Jack-of-All-Trades, electrician/carpenter/plumber. When I closed recently on my new (older) home in Ansonia, I needed so many different types of workmen I didn't know where to start to look. Everyone seemed to know someone, was a brother/sister of someone, knew a friend of a friend, but noone could give me specifics so I went to work looking at Angie's list of local companies to see what I could find. Lo and behold, I came up with TR Home Improvement right nearby in the same town I lived, Ansonia. Troy Rosebrock came down the next evening after I called him and spent an hour with me going over the list of jobs that I had for him and telling me what he could do to help me. Every job was listed on a digital notebook that he carried and whatever I asked was entered on a handheld digital voice recorder in addition so he would not forget a single thing when he got back to his office. Within a few days, he emailed me my endless list of home improvements all priced out. To my surprise, all the prices were reasonable and there was no sticker shock! I had him start the very next day. When Troy says he will be there, he is there on time and works all day sometimes not leaving until well after dark. He is a perfectionist and does not go on to another job until the job he is working on is finished to my and his satisfaction. Some might think a perfectionist is a very slow and methodical worker; but I was happily surprised to find that he was so fast with most tasks that he had finished before I even knew that he had started--and it was done right the first time. There were a few electrical and plumbing jobs that gave even Troy a hard time and he had the good sense to bring in a master plumber/electrician subcontractor that he had for some intricate wiring jobs in the basement and kitchen. Again, to my surprise, the prices did not go through the roof like I thought they would. I got to know Troy and his subcontractor Pete very well for the two weeks that he was at my house every day, good enough to trust him with a key to my house so he could come and go as he needed. I never regretted that decision and I will be using him again in the Spring for some masonry work on my foundation.

Troy got back to me right away, was going to stop in to look to give a quote, and ended up not only fixing my wiring problem, but helping install the new range hood too. He did a great job, and did more than was expected and didn't charge an arm and a leg. Highly recommended.

The move was great. The estimates for the re-model never occured.

Overall Troy did an excellent job! We are more than satisfied with the work. The steps look great. When we called Troy for an estimate he returned our call promptly and set up an appointment. We received a written proposal that specified exactly what we wanted done and his price was reasonable and we felt he would do a god job. Troy showed up on the date we agreed upon and completed the job again on the agreed upon timeframe. We highly recommend T R Home Improvement, LLC and we certainly will be calling Troy for any of our future home improvements. Thank you, Troy!

I don’t remember how much I spent on his services. There was nothing in particular that stood out to me. The work was done and it was done fine. I’m satisfied with it.

Troy was great!He is a little hard to get a hold of, but when he said he would show up, he did or called and told us he was running late every time.Our job was time and materials, so there was no bid before hand.Troy worked very hard while in the house, was professional and polite, did very clean work and left the job site cleaner than when he arrived.We scheduled Troy to come in to move all the water pipes and develop a solution to poor insulation / moisture barrier from when the bathroom was added to the house in the 1970s. Troy took two days to do this part as he ran in to some problems that were not his fault (The house is 137 years old - this happens every time). Troy was very creative in solving the moisture barrier and insulation problem. He did excellent work replacing the sub floor and was able to match it perfectly so that the new tile floor would match grade level to the floor outside the bathroom. He did use a sub-contractor for the pipe work, but Troy was always there while he was working. The only thing negative was they forgot to put escutcheons around the pipes before they welded the valves on (Minor, but irritating).We then had to book Troy to return when we were done with replacing the tile backer board and installing tile floor and subway tiles on the wall.We booked him to return in 4 weeks (We are weekend warriors - We knew it would take us at least this long).Troy returned as scheduled to complete the job. He stayed and worked for 10 hours till the job was done. He installed the new toilet and the pedestal sink we had purchased. We also had him go ahead and replace all the hardware in the shower and install new shower doors. Troy works very methodically - He may seem slow, but when he does it, he does it right (unlike other contractor / handymen we have used) We are very happy over all with the work that Troy did and will use him again.

Expected to receive quotes within a few days, week at max but they never arrived. Requested if there was any interest on still bidding on the work but there was no response.

Everything went flawless. Quality of work was worth every penny. Troy was great to work with and provided options to consider as well as recommendations.

Even though the contractor failed to provide notice that he would not make the appointment, I would consider this contractor in the future.

Our consultation with Troy was on 3/29/12, we expected to hear back from him with an estimate in 4-5 days but heard nothing until 4/12/12, 2 full weeks later. The estimate was incredibly overpriced ($1075 total with $275 of that just to put the decal and the shelves up). Taking into account his overall demeanor during the consultation and that it took two weeks to receive a very overpriced estimate, we came away feeling like he just wasn't interested in doing the job. We found someone else outside of Angie's List to complete these projects and others for a much more reasonable price (i.e. decal/shelf install- $80). When we emailed Troy to tell him we decided to go with someone else, he responded very professionally, which was appreciated.

Everything Troy has completed for us to date has been excellent, and we have loved working with him. We look forward to hiring him for our bathroom, and I'm sure it will come out great. Have no reservations when it comes to hiring Troy, he is as honest and reliable as they come.

My daughter in another state hired Mr. Rosebrock from seeing his reports on Angie's List. Mr. Rosebrock came out to look at the project, took pictures, and carried my new sink in from my car, which I appreciated. Before he could arrive to start the work, we had a snowstorm resulting in a power outage. Mr. Rosebrock called to set another time and showed up when he said he would. He got to work and I left him alone. Basically, he did what we asked him to, but I was surprised to find that he had not prepped the surfaces as I would expect a professional to do, not only not washing/sanding the wood surfaces, but specifically not smoothing down the metal radiator cover which has an orange-peel look. The ceiling had a crack and Mr. Rosebrock skimmed it over, but painted the ceiling without sanding/ smoothing that either. Edges are not crisp and adjacent fixtures are showing paint slop. He did, however, take down the towel rods before working, which is more than others have done in the past. In the course of reconnecting the ceiling light fixture, Mr. Rosebrock broke it and purchased another one, which may partially account for the extra $90 over his estimate, which undoubtedly includes the flexpipe water connections for the sink. The sink had to be fitted into a slightly irregular space and Mr. Rosebrock sanded the engineered stone edges to conform. After the installation, I noticed that the drain stopper was not reconnected properly and I couldn't work it. My daughter contacted him about it and several weeks later he appeared one day to fix it. He claimed that it was on a slant and got it to work, albeit awkwardly and it still takes a lot of effort on my part.

Lack of wall studs behind the shower unit made the installation difficult as the "grab bars" are cut to sertain lengths and home's builder didn't seem to like sticking to standardized wall stud spacing.
