Everything about this company is highly professional. The owner came to the site for the initial visit to review the job and collect information to provide an estimate. He was very helpful in describing options for what I wanted installed. Shortly after I received a detailed written estimate which proved additional information on lighting options. I was able to review the scope of work and indicate the option I chose. The crew showed up promptly on each of the assigned days and put in a full days work. I felt comfortable speaking to the any of the three electricians if I had an issue or question about the work. They were accommodating when I asked for a minor change to the work plan. The job took three days, and was really well done. Considering the time, effort and materials expended, I believe it fairly priced and I would hire them again. In fact, I'm in the process of doing just that. Above Code is a local family owned business which is an added bonus.

Lionel and his crew are the upmost professionals. He informed is along the way and ensured everything was going smoothly. They did a great job throughout.

I must have sounded desperate when I called, because they were able to fit me into their busy schedule. They called me the day before my appointment to confirm. Lionel show up and went right to work. Within a few minutes he found the source of my problem and fixed it in no time. I have definitely found a electician I can depend on.

I am late writing this review, but I wanted to make sure and get it in because I was very impressed with Above Code Electric. I live in an old house, and wanted quotes to perform various electrical jobs around the house. Lionel came out and spent a lot of time walking through the house with me, and discussing what would need to be done. As anyone who has ever owned an old house knows, nothing is easy. Lionel explained that it would be difficult to predict how long everything would take because, again, old houses can be very tricky. He said he would be more comfortable billing for time and materials but would put a cap on the total cost. I agreed with his assessment and felt very comfortable taking that approach. Lionel showed up on the first day of the job to walk his crew through the project. He also followed up regularly to make sure there were no issues. The projects he worked on spanned three days, and Lionel himself performed the work on days two and three. Lionel and his crew were very professional and hard working - they got rolling very quickly and worked diligently through the entire project. Lionel also gave me updates along the way to make sure things were on track. Lionel and his team were able to complete the project on time and came in below the project cap - even with me making a couple of changes along the way. I was very happy with the work and would definitely recommend them. I also plan to use them again as I have many other projects around the house.

Called and requested same day service. They showed up promptly. The service provider was excellent. We were very happy. Would definitely use them again.

The was on time and ready to address the issues we had. He explained our options after investigating the problem and offered good suggestions on correcting the problem (bad OIP) and simplifying the wire connections. He was fair and charged me exactly what he quoted over the phone. He also gave m e an immediate quote on some additional work I want performed and we will be moving forward with this shortly. Definitely will use again and recommend to anyone looking for an electrician.

The technician came on time. He worked efficiently. I discovered I needed a second outdoor sensor light. He had enough flexibility to add this new work. Initially, the sensor light was not going on when I drove the car into the garage. He came back and made an adjustment. It now works as desired. The owner and tech were friendly and very helpful.

I couldn't be happier with the quality of work done! I have tried several electricians for various jobs around the house; and now I've found the electrician I will ALWAYS call when I need something done! It is such a comfort to know that you have found a quality electrician. It is very important to have an electrician in which you feel confident knowing the job is going to be done right. And, not only is the job done right; but, the price is very fair.

They are great they are always either early or on time for their appointment. I have used them numerous times over the last year for outside plugs and lighting and inside lighting, they are always consistent in both charges and work they do great people to work with

My new oven unit wouldn't push back to the wall based on the location of the floor plug. Lionel had me text a photo of the plug so he could be sure that he had the right supplies upon arrival. Now it is flush with the wall, and my oven looks built in! During his visit, he also changed an outdated and broken ceiling fixture in my tiny laundry room. I hadn't opened the box, and the fixture required much patient assembly from him... Both projects were completed within an hour and at a fair price. Despite his committed schedule with large-scale electrical projects, Lionel was able to fit me in late one afternoon with minimal delay. This is the fourth time I have used Above Code, and I will continue to both call and refer them. I just hope they don't get too busy to answer- a reliable, reasonable electrician is hard to find, so I am not surprised by their success!

I am extremely pleased with the entire process. There have been no problems and all the improvements went as anticipated. I now regard them as my 'go to' electricians and I recommend them to anyone.

My Dad, (who is in his late 80s) reported that his stove was only partially heating. Very strange I thought, but he arranged for an appliance repairman to visit so I thought we were on the right track. The appliance repairman visited, checked out the problem, and explained that he believed it was an electrical problem, not a problem with the stove. His test showed 120V coming to a stove that (obviously) requires 240V. That got everyone's radar up. This clearly required an electrician to tell us what was going on. I volunteered to run interference for my father and did a quick search of Angie's List to find someone qualified. What caught my eye about Above Code Electric was a recent review that included, "They know a lot about old wiring." (Dad's house was built, I believe, in the 1930's. I got lucky when I called and Lionel Richard, a master electrician, answered the phone. I explained the problem and my concerns and we discussed it at length. Then I asked if there was any way they could check it out that same day (on an emergency basis) because the problem sounded, to me, to be (potentially) serious. Lionel agreed to personally check it out by that afternoon. (I came to find out that he had been up half the night on a commercial job, so in hindsight, I'd say his response was above and beyond the call of duty.) He called me from my Dad's house (though my Dad is still sharp as a tack, Lionel promised to keep me appraised as well) and texted some photographs of the melted, charred pieces from a long outdated electrical panel. His recommendation was, because the original panel had been added to and number of times and never updated, that the entire panel be replaced. He disabled everything he thought could be an immediate problem and provided a quick, comprehensive estimate. I checked out the price online and it was on the low side of general estimates on such replacements--so it sounded reasonable to me. My Dad agreed to the price and Lionel scheduled the job for two days later. (The $1100 (roughly) estimate included the original emergency visit.) I visited the day of the replacement and the electrician was just getting started mapping out the circuits. They showed up early and left late, but charged exactly what they estimated. My Dad made a particular point about how comprehensively they checked/tested the final installation (not sure of the proper terminology here). Yeah, I know I'm droning on, but I feel like this is the type of situation that deserves real praise. These folks had the opportunity to refuse the job, delay the replacement, charge a premium, and/or do the minimum job we have all become so accustomed to accepting. But they didn't. They seemed to work on the job as if it was their house not his. For that reason, my Dad and I recommend Lionel Richard, Above Code Electric, and his team without reservation.

They know a lot about old wiring- which is important that it is done safely. They were very professional and efficient.

I was having my bathroom remodeled. Several of the fixtures and plugs needed relocated. Some of the wires had been frayed over time too. I have used this provider in the past and was pleased with their work. They sent someone out the next day that I called them. The electrician was here for about 4 hours. He got everything done that I asked him to do and the price was reasonable. He did beautiful work and everything was where it needed to be. After he left, the next day the office manager called and he was unaware that the 1st hour included the service call. They sent me back a check for 50$ since they billed it incorrectly. I appreciated their honesty.

Excellent! The owner was the one who came to our house. He did a great job fixing everything and the price was extremely reasonable. He called to let us know he would be a few minutes late, which was very much appreciated. I'm so glad I have found this company and will not hesitate to call them again.

Lionel and his crew were great , they had to fish under concrete to install the light pole and add a dusk to dawn sensor, it was a type of pole that required doing a layer of concrete and mounting it on the concrete so it took a great deal of labor and time. They' also relocated an outdoor plug that had quit working and was not grounded, as well as installing a light fixture outside kitchen door' and adding light switches inside for both the post light and wall light. Lionel came out and gave an estimate because of the pole ] light and promptly went to work .All of them were very professional and worked very hard to get the job done in a timely manner. I think the price was very fair for the amount of work they did and would recommend them.

I can't say enough about these guys ... They did all the work very well, and even found a solution to make the remotest work in a tighter area than the remotest were designed for. This is a great example of a company that communicates well with the customer, and delivers on promises.

Above Code Electric is a great company to work with. We were going to have floor to ceiling bookcases/cabinets installed on either side of our fireplace and the only lighting we had in the room was from two lamps and the light from the ceiling fan. The room is quite large and it never had enough light in the room to see anything. Since we were getting the new bookcases we wanted additional lighting in the room so that you could see them. The contractor that I hired to build the bookcases said that he could also handle the lighting piece but the cost for that was very high. I found Above Code Electric on Angie's List and was impressed that they had so many "A" ratings. I liked the fact that they were a family-owned company; their reputation is very important to them. I find that when companies are large they tend to forget about the customer service piece and that is very important to me. I called them and talked with Angela (his wife who is also the president of the company) and she was very nice and she set up Lionel to come out very quickly to give me the estimate. Lionel spent a lot of time talking with me about exactly what I wanted. I had a lot of questions and he didn't rush me. My estimate was delivered to my inbox very quickly and after I met with another company (who I also found on Angie's List) I decided to hire Above Code Electric for the work. Their price was reasonable (not the highest and not the lowest, but reasonable) and I had a good gut feeling about Lionel after meeting with him. He told me he would be doing the actual work himself and I was comfortable hiring him knowing that. On the day of the work his team arrived on time and did the work exactly as I needed. All of the gentlemen were very polite and cleaned up everything after they were done so no mess was left. Angela also came out to check on the work as it was being done and I appreciated that she wanted to make sure the customer was happy. Lionel even came back after the bookcases were installed to hang up my 60 inch flat screen TV. I have already recommended Above Code Electric to friends and I plan to hire them if I need any additional work done!

The job turned out to be much more difficult than anticipated due to tight quarters in the walls of a relatively old house. Despite this, Lionel's team did an amazing job getting exactly the result I was hoping for. Furthermore, he stuck to the original quote when a higher price could have easily been justified. This was my second time using Above Code for a job, and I can't recommend them highly enough.
