Yellow Dot Heating & Air Conditioning

They were good and everything went well. They were courteous and careful when they came here. The price wasn't wonderful but it was comparable. The heating and air conditioning is working well. I don't know if we signed for a service agreement with or not but we are planning to.

The representative who picked up the phone took my information down and said she would get back to me shortly with pricing information. They called me back quickly with prices on the specific furnace I was looking to purchase. I had a few other questions and she put me in touch with someone who was informative and polite. Out of all the companies I called, Yellow Dot was, by far, the most professional, friendly and eager to please. Very nice staff!

The quote was very competitive and I found their Rep to be knowledgable and very professional.

On a Thursday morning we discovered that we had no heat on the first floor of our house. I called Yellow Dot at roughly 9 am and they were able to get a repair tech out that afternoon. Initially he diagnosed the problem and replaced the gas valve--a $600 part (plus a $50 expediting fee to get the part immediately). After repairing that, he discovered that there was another problem--a broken heat exchanger which warranted replacing the entire furnace (and air conditioner as they are paired). Several times he explained why he would not have been able to diagnose the second problem before fixing the first (since that is the obvious question that comes to mind)--of course, I really have no way to judge if that is true. First thing the following morning the sales guy (known as a project manager there) came out and gave me quotes for installing two different systems. I decided to proceed with the work rather than go without heat while getting multiple quotes. He did give me credit for the amount of the repair. He explained that service and sales are separate within Yellow Dot (addressing the obvious question of whether the sales prices is marked up just so the repair could be deducted). I don't know if we got a good price (and frankly would not want to investigate it after the fact) so I'm wasn't sure how to rate them on this question. They had a crew out that afternoon to remove the old unit and put the new unit in Saturday morning. We were very appreciative that they worked weekends so that we could have heat. They came out the following Tuesday to install the humidifier. Overall, all the personnel were punctual, friendly, and professional. They seem committed to providing a high quality service and were very responsive.

They did a great job. I got them off Angie’s list. They were very attentive and did a great job. They have been very good. I have two different heating and cooling system. They repaired the other system as well. I called them when it was the peak season. I called the company we had used for years as our air conditioner was not working and after a month and a half as well they had still not done anything. However, when I called Yellow Dot they responded the first day itself. They came out and sent technicians and evaluated everything. So many things had to be redone on the system and I decided to change the system. They followed up very well and definitely honored their warranty. They have been very responsive. I have signed a service contract with them and I will use them again in the future.

They were excellent. The cost was phenomenal for the problems they incurred. I'd absolutely use them in the future if needed.

We like them a lot. They've done quite a bit of work for us, and we've been satisfied with it.

Both the inspection and, just a few days later, the installation were promptly done. Explanations were thorough, cordial, and performed conscientiously. The heat pump estimate by Yellow Dot was $1,000 less than the estimate of another bidder(also an Angies List company) and the brand was rated significantly higher by Consumer Reports than the brand in the other estimate. I came away with a feeling of confidence in the honesty, knowledge, and workmanship in Yellow Dot.

Yellow Dot came out and gave us an estimate. The contractor provided us with three different options with no pressure to take the more expensive one. The installation of a new air conditioner and furnace was done quickly and professionally. The next day, when I noticed an odd sound coming from the air conditioner, my husband called Yellow Dot and they sent a service man out that night at 5:30pm on a Friday. The service technician, Mo, was great. Examined the unit and explained that we had gotten a defective compressor and it would be exchanged ASAP. It took only a week. Luckily, the air conditioner was usable until the new compressor came in. Both my husband and I were very impressed with the customer service and felt that they really cared about our business and wanted us to be 100% satisfied with their work. Great professional job at a good price. We have recommended them to friends and will use them again in the future.

Unit still needs to be cleaned. I'm still waiting for the check.

I contacted the company due to a Big Deal to service my two air conditioners. I ended up paying an extra $40.00 as an add-on to the deal in order to get a yearly contract and have the company come back 6 months later to service my heating units. I also ended up paying an extra $110.00 to have free-on added to one of the systems.Two contracters came to do the work. They were both pleasant and seemed knowledgeable about the HVAC system. They talked to me about some of the issues my system is experencing but did not suggest the systems needed to be replaced. One reason I used this contracter, other than it's high rating on Angie's List and the Big Deal, was to get a second opinion of the HVAC systems in my house. Two years ago another contracter (WeatherMaster) told me the systems wereshot and needed to be replaced. I'm glad I didn't fall for that since the systems run well for the most part. Now I have a second opinion from Yellow Dot to confirm my thoughts on the current systems.

Purchased 2 certificates from Angie's List for service for 2 A/C units in house. They called w/in minutes to schedule my appt. The service tech was early for my 8:00 AM appt (but did not ring bell until 8:00). Very respectful. Cleaned and serviced my units. Had to go up into my attic, but was very respectful of keeping carpet clean as he walked through house. Found nothing wrong with our units. I purchased a service contract with them, and wrote a check for it. He came back a few minutes later and apologized that he found out that the price of the contract had changed - it had decreased and needed a check for $10 less! I was dumbfounded to say the least. We would definitely recommend these folks to everyone!!

All work was done to our satisfaction. The best part was their promptness and honesty. Nothing was stolen from our home when I was called away for work. The company rates an A plus.

Everything went fine and were able to tell me that everything was working correctly.

Miguel came on time and was very thorough and efficient. He took time to clean the whole unit, told me the readings of the capacitors, showed me where I blocked the water flow pipe, checked the flow inside the house, etc. He spent a good couple of hours I'd say. He also explained to me the offerings for all of the units which was very helpful. If I weren't planning on moving, I would've taken him up on it. I highly recommend Yellow Dot and Miguel.

Our AC gave out during a heat wave. I called this company based on it's Angie's List rating, and I am glad I did. They came out the same day, looked at the system and had an answer within 30 minutes. He had the part we needed in the truck, replaced it and we were back in business in less than an hour!

Yellow Dot was awesome from start to finish. I called after purchasing the coupon to schedule an appointment and was able to get one within 2 days. About 30 minutes before the technician arrived, I received a phone call from the office to let me know he was on his way. Miguel, our technician, was super friendly and professional. He was able to answer all my questions and did a very thorough job on our older unit. Considering the age of our unit I fully expected to get a hard-sell about how it needed to be replaced with something more efficient, but that didn't happen at all. He confirmed that it was old but said that everything was running really well and there were no problems (except for it being dirty, which he fixed). He set my mind at ease. I appreciated his honesty and would DEFINITELY use Yellow Dot in the future- no question. Very trustworthy folks.

They found out what the problem was and suggested that I needed a new system. They provided good service. They were punctual, friendly and clean. The workers were great, and I had no complications. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I used an Angie's list Big Deal to get service on both of our HVAC units. Technician was on-time, professional and completed the job within the budget.

I wish that all of my contractor experiences were as pleasant. Once I bought the deal on Angie's List, the company contacted me to help with scheduling. The technician came early as I requested so I didn't have to sit around all day waiting for someone to show up. He was very professional, knowledgeable, quick and friendly, and he did a wonderfully thorough job tuning and cleaning up my shamefully dirty AC unit. He was helpful with recommending possible upgrades for me to consider and letting me know what they would cost without hard selling. I was so happy with my service, I signed up for their regular maintenance program to have them come back in winter to tune up the heating system as well. Highly recommended.

I have no issue with the work performed - the problem was diagnosed correctly and promptly resolved. However, I thought a $296 charge for a capacitor replacement was excessive. The charge was broken down as $90 for the diagnostic charge, and $206 for the repair.
