Description of Work: Fixed my leaky toilet. Was having problems with baffle in crawl space and it was replaced.

Description of Work: Schwartz Plumbing helped convert our propane system to natural gas. They ran lines (black iron) from the new gas meter to the existing propane lines so that we could easily hook the two together once the propane tank was emptied and removed. At the same time they replaced my electric water heater with a new Navien tankless, and cleaned up some water lines that needed to be moved. | |The Good... |- Their plan for where to locate the water heater and gas lines closely conformed to my own. (This would seem like an easy thing, but both PSNC and another company had estimators who wanted to mount the tank outside my house or in a finished room of the basement to make installation easier. It also turned out that getting somebody to use black iron instead of flex line to tie into the existing black iron was hard to do. The estimator for Schwartz took one look and said it made more sense to use the hard pipe and would not be difficult to do.) |- The techs were courteous, prompt, and clearly cared about their work. The main technician worked hard to ensure the installation was as perfect as possible. Lines were planned well, run straight, and triple checked for any kind of leaks. |- If I had any problem with how something was going, they were quick to adjust or explain why their way was best. |- Tech even allowed a minor bit of horse trading to include some things missed in the estimate/contract in exchange for other items that were more appropriate for DIY. | |The Bad... |- The tech used a hammer drill and bit to go through the brick on my house. For the lower line that was fine. However, when drilling through the top of the brick wall, the vibration of the drill tore several bricks loose. They said they did not have an abrasive bit like masons use to bore through brick, and had to repair a fair amount of brick. |- While the techs were good, the back office was a mess. When techs first showed up to start work, there was no permit in place. After taking a couple days to get that straight, the work was started. Then it turned out that the permit filed was not correct. If I had not been at home to explain what was supposed to be happening to the inspector, the inspection would have simply failed entirely. I was not pleased with having to act as the go between for the permit office and the plumbers. |- My only other fault with the job, was having my tech constantly interrupted with calls. I know it is a service business and has to adapt to emergency needs, but my tech was getting a fair share of calls and assignments that interrupted the work on my house. | |As a side note, I have now had the Navien running for seven months. It works great and has been fault free so far.

Description of Work: Have had an issue with a particular toilet- drain beneath clogged. Charged double what another plumber did for the same fix. But, they looked deeper into the issue after and gave another solution. Overall they cost more than my prior plumber but made an effort to fix the underlying problem.

Description of Work: It was past time to replace our aging, first generation low-flush toilets. We have contracted with Schwartz Plumbing several times in the past and have always been pleased with the results. We called them for this job and discovered it would cost us about the same thing to buy the toilets from Schwartz as it would to purchase them ourselves. We didn't hesitate to schedule the service. | |The two men arrived right on time and went straight to work. In an hours -- which is less time than it would have taken me to simply remove one toilet -- they had completed the entire job and cleaned up behind themselves. We're quite satisfied with the work and the price. Needless to say, we'll call Schwartz again when we're in need of a plumber.

Description of Work: Started using Schwartz many years ago when it was a one-man show. Excellent personalized service. As the company grew the quality of the individual service providers varied greatly. Some were fine while a couple did not do a good job, wanted to install a different profuct than discussed, and made a mess on the bathroom with dirty greasy shoes. I'm sure you can get good service from them but I now use other providers that are cheaper. The date of my last service was several years ago.

Description of Work: Replaced a non-functioning exterior faucet that would not turn off. Came quickly and did a nice job. Checked and replaced a leaky toilet seal at minimum charge. good to work with.

Description of Work: They repaired a sink drain. Work was completed and everything is working well. We have used this company before.

Description of Work: Used them twice; once on a severely and uncustomary clogged toilet, then installed a whole house "Comfort" water system. Feel work was done well and was reasonably priced. They will be my plumbers of choice.

Description of Work: My hot water heater had an error code and was not producing hot water. I called on Christmas Eve, thinking I'll be without hot water until at least Wednesday. Initially, that was true, but Fred called me at home and walked me through clearing the error and getting the water heater to work again. I'm not working today so I certainly didn't expect anyone else to be working nor did I expect to have have the problem solved immediately. Awesome service!!

Description of Work: We had a tankless water heater installed on the outside of house. We also had a problem with water pressure. They installed a new pressure reducing valve and it has made a major difference. The water heater looks great and works as promised. IF i have plumbing needs in the future, I will deffinitely use Schwartz. The installer we had was Ross and I will request him again.

Description of Work: Replaced the gas valve on my water heater.

Description of Work: We were getting septic tank odors on the bathroom. The service technician arrived early, asked how long it had been since we used the tub in the bathroom (maybe a year), said the water in the trap had probably evaporated, allowing fumes to come up through the tub drain, turned on the faucet to fill the trap, which fixed the problem. Since it was such a short job, he charged only for his time in getting there, not the hourly rate. Obviously, I am completely satisfied and would use this company again.

Description of Work: Replaced 50 gallon electric water heater in crawl space. Replaced toilet fixture with new water conserving fixture.

Description of Work: I had five things which needed checking by a professional plumber after moving into our home. Nothing needed repair and my husband was very impressed by the plumber and the company. I will definitely use them if I need any work in the future.

Description of Work: Had to replace the diverter in the tub/shower. Actually went shopping for the piece which took quite a while. Also fixed a toilet leak which turned out to be the valve. The valve did not have to be replaced, but adjusted. The work was complete efficiently and professionally.
