+ -1 moreThey are okay. They fixed the problem, but I was not truly sure if they really fixed it or It I just felt it was amended for a while, and overtime the problem is coming back. I think the technician was probably was technically not very knowledgeable, so he could only do what he could do. When I asked a question, he didn’t really try to find out from senior, and he was saying that’s pretty much what can be done, and I know different, so I just let him do what he was going to do and he left.

+ -1 moreI called a different company (Roto-Rooter) and they said they would be by at 9am. They never showed!So I called Swartz and asked them if they could come by today and take care of the job. They said they didn't have any open appointments but would try to fit me in that same day.They called at noon and said they would be by at 1pm. They showed up on time and the technician was very knowledgable and professional. He completed the entire job in about 1.5 hours! I was extremely impressed with Swartz and will definitely use them again.

+ 0 moreThe service rep arrived at the house on. He called prior to coming to verify we were ready. Within a few minutes, he had determined the problem. He went over several options with price quotes. Because he did not have a heater on his truck, he set up a time to return the next day as all supply house were closed for the day. He return the next day at the stated time. After installation, he cleaned up the area so that you could not see that he had been there. Very polite and professional. Would recommend this company.

We were going to add a small water heater under our kitchen sink to bring water to that part of the house faster. He suggested doing the recirculating pump and reroute some silly original plumbing to make the piping more efficient.Ross is very professional, communicates well and does outstanding work. He is a true craftsman.We are now getting hot water throughout the house really fast and are excited about new laundry space.

+ -1 moreThey are everything you would want from a plumber except cheap. They are prompt, professional, technically proficient, clean, and fair. We do not feel that they have "gouged" us, although they don't give their services away for free. However, I will say that when we had them look at a dishwasher pump last year that was making a terrible noise, but was still seemed to work, we fully expected the technician to replace the pump. Instead he said that if we could live with the noise, to keep using it until it broke, then replace it. That was almost a year ago, and the dishwasher pump is still working (and the noise has actually gotten better!).
Description of Work: Schwartz Plumbing is our "go to" plumbers. They have done numerous jobs for us over the years at both our primary residence and rental places.

Description of Work: Checking 2 faucets for water pressure issues (1 was repaired on the spot, the other is something wrong with the fixture that I'll need to call Moen about) and he also cleaned out a stopped up tub drain.

+ -1 morePlumbers are always expensive but have always gotten good service from this company whether a small or large job. The cost for my last job (Bathroom Filter) that we had suffered with for 2 years was quickly and easily fixed by the service man.
Description of Work: I have used Schwartz for several plumbing jobs over the last 5 years and they have always solved the problem at a reasonable price. I've used them to repair a bathroom to septic problem, install new kitchen facuet after they guided me on how to get a new one since the original facuet was under warranty, install auto hot water recyling pump, etc. They came at mid-night when the toliet was not flowing normally. The office has been nice on scheduling and helping with plumbing issues and the service people have all been excellent. If it is a plumbing issue, they are the first one called.

He obviously was experienced in his job and this unit in particular because he had all the tools he needed right at hand, he never wasted any time looking for anything. This is not a regular water heater replacement, the hybrid tankless requires a different mounting, electrical power, and a change in the gas line. He had all the proper permits, worked steadily without wasting time, was not on the cell phone constantly (this seems to be a problem with some service personnel lately), and finished the job in a few hours. This heater is 97% efficient, so you can't use the regular chimney pipe that the old heater used. He runs a (roughly) 1" PVC drain line down low, near the floor, and a 3" or 4" PVC vent pipe near the ceiling. This runs across the width of the garage, through the wall to the outside. Before he started, he let me know he would have to do this. The finished product was outstanding, you would have thought he had a siding contractor there to finish it for him :) The heater is fantastic, after 5 or 6 months we had an issue where it intermittently would stop making hot water for half a minute or so, Schwartz sent a tech right out, and he replaced a part, saying this was an occasional issue with these units, and it was no charge. It has worked perfectly since.
Description of Work: Had a 40 gallon gas water heater removed and an Eternal Hybrid tankless, also gas, installed. Installation required a condensate drain line and exhaust vent installed. The new water heater had to be mounted on the wall, and new electrical service (120 volt) run. Unit is located in the garage, and the new lines had to go through the outside wall. Disposal of the old heater was included.

+ -1 moreWhile I am satisfied with the work and the way Eric performed it, I am not comfortable with Schwartz's excessive a la carte pricing ($165 for a faucet provided by the client - something that will take you 15 minutes to install -- REALLY?!), the "discounting" offered when the customer complains, and the enforced completion of a customer satisfaction survey under the watchful eye of the person you are grading. I won't use them again.
Description of Work: While I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of service delivered or with the serviceman who came to my home, I have some issues with Schwartz's customer service, which is probably why I won't use them again. On the plus side, Schwartz immediately booked a time convenient for me within an hour time frame, which is awesome. Too many contractors give enormous windows, like 12 to 5 p.m. Schwartz said the plumber would arrive between noon and 1 p.m., and he was there at 12 sharp. The plumber, Eric, took note of our off-white carpet and promptly donned booties without being asked. I liked that, too. My issues with Schwartz arose when I started rattling off my "punch list" of issues, which included (1) replacing the main shut off valve inside the house (2) replacing the hot water shut off valves under the vanities in the master bath (3) installing a new vanity faucet we provided (4)investigate cause / address slow drains in four lavatory sinks (5) investigate slow drain in upstairs bath. First, Eric said he might not "have enough time" to address everything on my list because the office hadn't told him everything on my list. Since I read off the list to the receptionist, my initial thought was it wasn't my fault the information wasn't properly conveyed to him and my second thought was I wasn't paying for a second trip out. But my real beef was when Eric quoted me $995 to address everything on my list -- including $165 to install a faucet I provided. The pricing was "a la carte" -- $165 for the faucet, $45 each for vanity hot water cut off valves, $275 for house shut off value, etc. Since all of this work could easily be performed within three hours and most of the expense was labor -- not parts -- I asked why I wouldn't be charged by the hour. He replied that all plumbing companies were going to a la carte pricing. When I protested further, he offered to offer discounts on some of the tasks. I thought that response strange -- it seemed to undermine Schwartz's position on "a la carte" pricing and simply reaffirmed for me that everything is indeed negotiable. Replacing the in-house water valve was no easy task. Eric had to crawl around in our nasty, muddy crawl space and by the time he was finished, I couldn't even tell where he had had cut into the drywall. He did beautiful work and I am very satisfied with the result. Likewise, he did a great job with the vanity shut off values. Eric tested the slow tub drain and said he couldn't see any evidence that it drained poorly. I am not convinced but he saved me $165 that he could have charged me, I opted not to have him work on the sink drains or install the faucet. The other customer service issue that troubled me was that Eric gave me a customer satisfaction survey that I was expected to fill out in front of him on the spot. I also had another contractor standing right there, so I felt awkward expressing some of the concerns I am expressing here. So I gave Schwartz all 5s -- GREAT! -- on their survey. If they really want honest customer feedback, perhaps they should leave their survey as a leave behind with a SASE and ask clients to return it via mail.

+ -1 moreCalled Schwartz plumbing and the following day Chris showed up on time, made an appointment for the next day, again, showed up on time. the bowl swap did no go smoothly, Chris was able to overcome obstacles like changing a 10 inch rough in to a 12 inch in rough with parts he had in his truck. The floor was very uneven, he leveled the bowl. He even had some shoe molding work to fit bowl properly, and again no problem. He had all the tools needed to complete a very fine job. Also, he left the bathroom and surrounding area spotless.He solved the gas odor issue. He mentioned that water evaporating in J-traps in unused bathrooms was letting gases in the house. the sign of a seasoned professional. I could go on but, In the interest of time, the whole experience was wonderful. Would definitely hire again.
