Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

The handle unexpectedly broke off our kitchen faucet. We wanted this repaired urgently, so we called Roto-Rooter. The serviceman stated that the faucet could not be repaired and would have to be replaced. He did not have a suitable replacement on his truck, but offered to go to the local plumbing supply store (Lowe's) and buy a replacement for a fee of $85.00. Otherwise we could go pick out the fixture, but he would have to reschedule the installation, and we would incur another service charge. Since both of us had other commitments, we authorized him to go and pick out a fixture comparable to the one being replaced. He returned after we had left and completed the work while our housekeeper was there. When we returned, we found a cheap-looking fixture and a bill for $308.00 for the fixture itself, the $85.00 trip fee, and another $240.00 for labor. The next day I saw the same fixture at Lowe's for $158.00. I called Roto-Rooter to question the bill, and was told that this was actually less than their standard mark-up. I requested a refund and was referred to their manager. I have called multiple times and have only been able to leave messages on his voice mail. I have requested he call me back, but no calls have been returned. We have decided that the quality of the replacement fixture is unacceptable and we want to have it removed. We would like to buy a new one of our choosing, pay Roto-Rooter to install it, and have Roto-Rooter refund to us the $308.00 they charged for the present faucet. They can keep that faucet.

When the serviceman showed up, he gave us an estimate of what it would cost for him to fix the problem. We felt that was too expensive and then he said that we could just buy the part from them and he then explained and showed my husband how to do the work. We were able to get it fixed and saved money. We have never had anyone help us out like that. I would definitely call them again.

Roto Rooter did a great job! They were professional and punctual. When the first fix they attempted didn't work, they quickly knew what steps to take next to resolve the issue and gave me a fair price.

They came in over the weekend, and my wife was here with our newborn and our young child. They were very easy to work with and very responsive as well.

They were good. They showed up on time and were very professional. They made suggestions and left me with a bottle of drain cleaner. I think all plumbing prices is too high though.

We call them every year to have this done. We have a big old oak tree in between our house and the street and the roots get into the conduit. This was the only company that had tools big enough to do the job. The regular plumber did not. They were there with in the time frame that they said they would be there and they stayed until the work was finished.

We've used them twice. It went very good. It was just one guy and he was wonderful. He actually helped me with the pilot light in our furnace in our new house.

They charged by the job. They had same day response, actually within hours of when I called. The finished product was nice. I would hire them again in the future.

Mike Nichols came out the same day and spent a LOT of time in the attic on a million-degree day. It was so hot, he could only stay up there without dying about 10 minutes at a time, but kept going back for more! He cleared the drainage pipe but discovered that the real problem was lack of sealant where 2 pipes joined. Condensation escaped at this joint & eventually dripped through the attic floor behind the wall on the 2nd floor. He sealed this & put a dish underneath it so we could easily check whether the work was holding.

GREAT! The toilet in my powderroom had been acting up for the past 6 months. Sometimes it would clog and sometimes it would barely flush. I finally got so fed up I called RR. They sent someone out immediately. They told me that the technician would look at the problem, give me a quote, and if I did not want the work done there would be no charge. I expected them to come out and snake the pipe. When Mr. Glover arrived I explained the problem. He checked out the toilet AND the toilet paper we always use. He told me that the toilet paper was the culprit. He suggested that I change the toilet paper to a single ply (Scott Tissue type) paper and that should solve the problem. He did not charge me a dime!! Every thing has been fine ever since.

They are awesome. I have called them numerous times. They are nice and friendly and try not to charge you for unnecessary things. They clean up after themselves and they are really great to work with.

I called and they had a plumber at my house within 30 minutes. He was friendly, professional, and completely fixed my drain. I used an Angie's List coupon and saved $30.

My home warranty company sent out a plumber who said my disposal was not up to code. I knew he was wrong and was trying to con me. I asked him to leave and checked Angie's List. They sent Sean out in less than 2 hours! A first for a plumbing company. Sean quickly replaced my garbage disposal, working at 6:30PM. He was pleasant as well as competent. I will definitely call them again and will request Sean.

Hired a different company the next morning to install a new pump. As I explained to the technician that night before, the total cost of the repairs, including pump was $600.00. Basically wasted $85 in an unnecessary service call to diagnose what I already knew. And would have thrown away an additional $400 had I let Roto Rooter do the work.

They arrived on time to do the services asked of them. I would use them in the future. They were courteous and kind while they were here. They were professional while they were working. I would recommend them.

Our shower often drains slowly, so we wondered if replacing a very old metal U-joint would help. Our outside water supply pipe burst because of cold. We tried to fix pipe but didn't have the tools to handle the necessary joins. We debated calling around to compare prices, but I have had such good past experiences with Roto-Rooter (and such bad experience with a local company) that we called them again. Once again, they provided a quick appointment, good contact about when the technician would arrive, and a courteous and knowledgeable technician. Their labor charge (198.00) seems high for about an hour's work, but dependable service makes it seem worthwhile to us. Based on past experience, I know the tech would have supplied a further breakdown of charges had he been asked. He could have made his company extra money at our expense if he'd gone ahead and replaced the u-joint to the shower but instead gave us advice about whether that was necessary and how to take care of the drainage problem.

They had to come back a second time, but they do good work, and spend time with me answering questions & listening to my concerns.

There was a bit of a panic when two drains (toilet and kitchen sink) stopped up on the same day. We were concerned main line was clogged or backed up. We called Roto-Rooter and had someone at our door about an hour. He snaked the lines (turns out it was two separate clogs that coincidentally stopped up at the same time) and even changed a leaking seal around our toilet. They were courteous, prompt, and efficient.

Called Roto Rooter Sunday Morning complaining of a slow drain. They said they had a man in the area and he would be here in about an hour. He showed up about an hour later gave me an estimate. Being Sunday I did not have much of a choice so I had them clean the drain. In less than an hour the drain was clear and was back to normal. I think the price was high but it being a Sunday and not being able to contact any other plumbers, you have to do whatever necessary to get the commodes working.

Our usual plumber does not work weekends, so I called Roto- Rooter on a Saturday afternoon after discovering a drain pipe leak that was dripping into the basement. Was told that the technician would come Sunday morning. Though the technician did not arrive until mid-afternoon, we received two phone calls to update us and assure us that he would come. Mike Nichols was friendly, neat and thorough, and made sure that the new PVC connection was totally clean and dry before bonding it in place. Charge of $161 was less than I believe our regular plumber would have charged, and this on a weekend! We intend to use Roto-Rooter more often in the future.

So, after waisting a day waiting on them, I called another company and had them come out on a Sunday to clear my stopped up pipes, which took all of about 30 minutes.

Great experience. We called the night before and scheduled for a convenient time the next day. The serviceman called 30 minutes ahead of time to alert us that he was on his way. He arrived on time and was finished clearing the drain in 10 minutes. He was pleasant and professional.

Vaisily was wonderful. He arrived within one hour of my calling (same day!). He diagnosed the problem and gave us an estimate very quickly and then assisted me with my home warranty. He went to get parts, returned promptly and helped out to fix the problem just in time for my washing machine to be hooked up! He was fast and friendly and I would definitely call him again.

I have used them for years for the toilets overflowing and other minor plumbing needs. They are punctual, pleasant to deal with, and I haven't had any trouble with the quality of their work.
