Description of Work: This report is the best I can remember since it was 8 months ago. We had a blockage somewhere along the line of our septic system. Roto Rooter came out and ran their camera looking for the blockage, but couldn’t figure out what it was. They tried to root it out, but couldn’t.

Description of Work: Both of my sinks were stopped up and they came out to unclog them.

Description of Work: I had an issue with my main valve being stuck as I was fixing low pressure in a kitchen faucet. The main valve got stuck in the closed position so I had no water in the house & a birthday party the next day. I first called Project Services who were higher up on the list but it went to vm ( I wished I had called him a 2nd time). So I called RotoRooter & they arrived within an hour of my call. Project Services called me back in that time 1hr wait period but I indicated someone else was coming. The RR plumber provided me with an estimate which I agreed too but the work he performed took a maximum of 10 mins to fix..he greased the valve and voila it was fixed. I asked if he could pro rate to 30mins of service call but be said it's a 1 hr mimimum..which I didn't agree with but understand. The scam vibe came when I asked him about low pressure in my kitchen faucet. I knew that a cartridge change would probably fix it..but I didn't have a replacement yet. He looked at the faucet and said he would have to replace the cold & hot water valves and the feeder lines before a cartridge change. He said he has to work from the bottom up..ie make it more complex and time consuming to charge more. I asked why he wouldn't try a cartridge change first and then do the other stuff and he just shrugged his shoulders. I paid for the main valve repair and was done with him. In the meantime I called back Project Services & asked them what they thought about the faucet issue, they said to call the manufacturer and get a replacement cartridge since the faucet is <2yrs old and probably under warranty..good old fashion HONESTY. I did that and fixed the problem myself. I regret not getting them to come out and fix the main valve issue. I will cal Project Services for future plumbing needs.

Description of Work: After forty plus years of tree root growth and deterioration, an old septic system needed attention and quick! This required digging up the old septic tank, clearing the lines to the residence and making necessary repairs to existing lines and replacing damaged ones.

Description of Work: Water leak in my yard. Got an estimate of $1300 from Cary Plumbing. Roto Rooter came in at $1000 and dug the trench as soon as the power and gas lines were marked. Tough job and it was made tougher by the weather. Realizing that it was a hardship for my family to be without water and plumbing, Eric and Justin started and finished the job in one 12-hour day in spite of cold, wet, and darkness. they finished the connections in my crawlspace with a flashlight. Eric went the entire day without breaking for lunch or dinner. He was never grumpy either!

Description of Work: The first guy that came ran a snake down through the pipe. I was having a back-up problem. He told me there was a blockage at the end of the pipe. He told me it was going to cost 3,000 dollars to unblock it. I had another guy come out the next morning and he ran a snake through the pipe which unblocked it. It cost 285 dollars just to run the snake through the pipe.

Description of Work: MY LETTER TO THEM: Date: 11/24/2008 2:28 AM Another sleepless night thanks to Roto Rooter. Several weeks ago our kitchen sink stopped draining. One of the three bathrooms had been very slow. We called Roto Rooter. They came and fixed the sink and all three fixtures in the bathroom. They mentioned a guarantee. This past week, the commode in that bathroom would not flush. I called my husband. He instructed me to call Roto Rooter since it should still be under warranty. I should have recovered the paperwork before I called Roto Rooter, but instead, I just found the number on the computer and called. The very polite man said it was under warranty and they would be out within 2 hours. I received about 5 calls from Roto Rooter telling me info about someone coming. He came. He informed me it would be $119.00. I told him that I was told it was still under warranty. He said it was only a 7 day warranty on toilets. I called the Roto Rooter number that I had previously called. I was again given the same information that it was under warranty. I asked him to tell my service man. My service man took the phone. I heard only his side of the conversation. He growled: That's not right. It is only under warranty for 7 days. I have worked here for 30 years. I will do it if you pay me. I will do it if you pay me. What is your name? What is your name? Then he called his local superior and described the situation. Then, to me, in the same tone, in like manner, he ranted: he would fix it, there would be no further warranty, that man will not have a job when the sun sets tonight. He will be fired. I have worked here 30 years. On and on... He fixed it in less than a minute. He ranted. I signed. He ranted. He was gone. Note: I never said I would not pay. I only asked to check it out. My thanks to the kind man. Perhaps he just needed better training with regard to warranties. I would also suggest temper management for the service man.
