Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I thought the experience was fine. They were professional. They came when they said they would come. It cost us more than I thought it would cost. I spent about $150. However, they gave me an estimate and the cost was the same as the estimate. They did what they said they would do. I will not use them in the future. It has nothing to do with Roto-Rooter but I have found someone else who I like better and who is cheaper.

They were pretty good. I had somebody else do that job for me and they did a terrible job. However, Roto-Rooter people did it very well. I had to have them come on a weekend and they worked until dark. They were pretty reasonable.

We spent $300 or $400 on that work. They found that the sewer pipe was either broken or a root was growing through it, so they put in a new piece and cleaned up. They come 24 hours a day and we have a local plumber that does not on weekends an odd hours. They have been professional and have done a good job. Their pricing was not outrageous for what they did and the came on time and were professional.

Everything went well. They were prompt, courteous, and offered a no-hassle service.

They were fine, I would consider using them again in the future.

I had no problem with this company. They did very well, and also the price was fine. Nothing fancy had to be done, but they were very professional and had everything done on time.

I really liked them. They were great. They were polite and they were nice. They were quick. It was a horrible rainy day and they came out and did everything and got it done. I had called somebody else and they weren't able to do it, but Roto-Rooter was able to do it. I don't remember the total amount, but it cost me whatever they estimated.

Roto-rooter responded to the call promptly. The repairman looked at the situation and explained that the maximum charge would be $210.00 based on his having to replace the water line. Once he looked into the repair, he then spliced a repair rather than replace the water line. He then told me the charge is still $210.00 even though he worked for less than 30 minutes. I found this to be gouging and will not use them again for any work.

They do everything and they did all of my repair work before I closed. I had sinks that needed repaired before I sold my restaurant and they repaired them beautifully. I got a lot of work done for the price. I?m not exaggerating: I went through a lot of plumbers in my 30 years of owning a restaurant and I can?t say enough good things about Roto-Rooter. They sent two or three different people over the year I used them. No matter who came, they were intelligent, they discussed the work and how long the work would take, and they were just so impressive. They gave me a quote that I signed before they started the work so that I knew exactly how much would be spent. I?ve never seen anything like them.

Excellent service. It look less than an hour from the time I called the dispatcher to the time the service guys showed up. After a thorough inspection, it was deemed that the disposal had to be replaced. For hour's worth of work combined with the cost of a new unit, I thought the price was relatively fair and appropriate. Remember to use the $30 coupon either here on Angie's List or on Roto Rooter's main website! After installation was complete, I had them check another part of the house where I thought a water leak might be occuring and they happily obliged to take a look and gave their opinion on what should be done and some preventative maintenance I could do. Very professional service and one I would recommend to anyone looking for plumbing services.

Things went really well and they seemed to do a good job. We did the project the day of closing and have not heard anything from the new owner about problems.

Their work was fine, but I thought they were expensive.

They put in a bid on the job, but neglected to mention that the location of the break in the line would be the responsibility of the city to repair and not mine. Throughout the investigation I found out the location and the city came out to fix it. I think they attempted to gauge me on pricing, but the service they came out to provide was okay. They cleared the line then ran the camera down the line to do the diagnostics. I had another contractor out for a bid who did tell me to look into seeing if it was the city's issue or mine, so at least they were honest with me.

Overall, a very good experience. We actually had to call them back for a second visit due to continued issues with leaking toilet. Repairman was very professional and honest. He did not hesitate to admit his own fault (apparently continued leaking was due to his initial repair). Very prompt with response. Will definitely use again in future.

The bathroom is in the walk out basement which is an apartment for my son and uses a sump pump. We called Roto-Rooter to help us fix whatever was causing all the sinks, laundry, kitchen, tub to gurgle - loudly as well as stop the toilet from backing up. Carlos Castro from Roto-Rooter was sent to help. The first thing I noticed about Carlos was his consideration of my home. He immediately covered his shoes. He read a list my son had left for him about issues in the basement plumbing. He was incredibly professional and yet personable. Explained to me in laymen's terms exactly what was happening and in fact hooked up a camera to where the clog was so I could see it with my own eyes. Once the repair was made and the toilet replaced, he left the bathroom in exactly the same shape in which he found it. I am impressed. We will be using Carlos and Roto-Rooter for ALL of our plumbing needs from here on in. Thank you very much and Merry Christmas!

Had wastewater backup in sinks in a 40-year old house. Spent $1350 before they determined 50 feet of pipe between the house and sewer connection was clogged with roots. Wanted another $2800 to replace the pipe. Accepted my request for a $550 credit from the previous work that did not fix the problem. Probably still paid too much overall. Otherwise liked the people who came out. Very responsive. Dave was an older plumber who was able to explain exactly what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix it.

Called them after trying to fix myself with no luck. Technician was at my door in 20 minutes-maybe less. Had to snake quite bit of drain to get the clog but was done very fast regardless. Very professional. Very nice.

I used John from Roto Rooter Services. He answered a few questions that I had. He explained everything to me. There was a leak under my kitchen sink. I had two pipes coming out from each side. So, he cut off one of the pipes and brought it across, so that it joined with the other pipe. Now, I have just one pipe. He was able save me some space in the process. He stayed within the estimate.

After going through Plumber recommendations from neighbors and friends, I learned they don't work on the weekends so I checked Angie's List and found Roto-Rooter and learned that they were "open for business" on the weekends so I called. My call was answered immediately and the woman was very polite and asked about my situation. I asked whether there was an extra charge for Saturday service and was told no, not as long as it fit within their business hours. She took my name, address, etc. and said someone could be at my home within an hour. I asked if she could give me an estimate. She said the plumber would come within the hour, take a look and give me an estimate and I could decide then whether or not to have him do the work. I was relieved. The plumber, Cesar, came out within the hour, introduced himself, put the booties over his shoes and came in to look at the problem. Within minutes he gave us an estimate which included a discount ($270), even before I mentioned the Angie's List coupon. His discount was better than the Angie's discount so we took it. It was a very tight squeeze and the plumbers who did the plumbing when the house was built did not put in the requisite lenth of copper pipe so there wasn't room for pipe cutters, he had to saw off both valves by hand. He explained everything he did (I was trying to learn), performed the work, triple checked the work, cleaned up, made sure were satisfied, explained the warranty (6 months), we paid, and he gave us a receipt with his card and told us to call him if we had any issues. Before he left he also explained how the device he installed worked - he knew I'd be doing further work once the part came for my faucet.

Excellent-as always this group is fast and punctual and gets the job done.

Faucet at kitchen sink broke. Could not operate by hand. No leak. Called Roto-Rooter to replace. Came promptly, but replaced with an inferior grade product, charged double the retail price for product. Did not return calls after bill paid. Did not reveal that broken faucet was covered under manufacturer's lifetime warranty.

They came out in a timely manner. They wanted to dig out the cement which would have been very expensive for us, but my husband insisted them to snake it out first and then see if it doesn't work. Most of the companies from the list were not ready to do this type of work, but they agreed and they did a good job.

It was really good. Every expectation that had been set was met.

I had used this company before in the past very successfully. As expected, the technician's arrived at my house on time, were very professional and repaired the toilet quickly at a fair price. The problem arose 10 months later. The rebuild of the toilet was done in November of 2008. It is now September of 2009 and the toilet is running. When I called to see if they would come look at it again, they explained that my service contract only guaranteed the work for 6 months. I'm furious! If you completely rebuild a toilet, it should not break again in less than a year. I spoke with a supervisor who said there was nothing she could do. I asked if there was anyone else I could talk to and she said I could talk to her manager, but he was not in. I've left a voice message for him and I'll keep you updated on the outcome. The learning from this story is definitely "buyer beware."
