Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

He did a good job. The nicest thing about them is that they are always available; they can be there in half an hour or pretty much any time.

They're good and on time. Their guy was very professional. He was very engaging. He told me what he's doing and why he's doing it.

We called Roto Rooter to help with a toilet that was not flushing due to a clog in our drains. We placed the call at 10 am and they a technician was there by 1PM. They did a good job getting the toilet draining properly. Our only issue was with the price and the marks at the bottom of the toilet from the auger used (that will most likely come up with a bit of elbow grease). First the technician tried the auger for a couple of minutes and that did not help with the clog and that service would have cost $160 which was pricey to us. Then the technician wound up taking the toilet off and ran a snake 75 feet through our drains that got the clog out. The that service cost $468 minus a $40 coupon (from the Roto Rooter website). Overall the technician was friendly, willing and able to answer any questions and they were quick to respond. My issue is the price and the mark left in the toilet but mostly with the price.

They are a little bit expensive but the quality is really good. I probably could have gotten it done for less but I don't know if I would have the quality.

It was fine. They were pretty easy to get hold off and communicate with.

We had a blockage in the sewer line from the house to the city sewer, a line of about 100 feet. They ran the roto-rooter device through the entire line, clearing a blocked area about 20 feet from the house. The next day they ran a camera through the line and discovered a joint that had separated with the two sections now misaligned. The also discovered that a backflow preventer device that had been buried with the sewer line was broken and would need to be replaced. The next day the plumber came out, dug up the broken pipe, installed a new back flow preventer with access from the surface and installed an additional clean-out. This required digging a trench about two feet deep by four feet long by hand in heavy clay. After completing the work, the plumber replaced the soil and leveled the area so all looked good. The job was completed in about 3 hours. The cost of the sewer clean-out and camera inspection was very reasonable. The cost of replacing the broken pipe not so much, but still reasonable considering the nature of the work - pretty nasty. Overall, the cost was in line with my past experience with plumbers and quite acceptable. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for sewer problems, and may use them again the next time I have a general plumbing problem.

We had dishwasher/washing machine drain that was backing up in a rental house (we are out of town landlords). The plumber from RotoRooter was able to respond quickly and was met by the tenant at the property. We then spoke to him by phone. He said that he wasn't sure what the problem was but that he was concerned that it was very complicated and would involve a lot of labor (including him crawling under the house, replacing old plumbing, etc). He then told us we needed to commit to paying for whatever he would wind up doing and that we needed to phone a credit card # into the office before he would do anything further. He said it could be anywhere from $300-600 or more. We basically told him to take a hike at that point and called another plumber. The new plumber came out and took a look at the situation, then called us. He found that the two hoses (one from each appliance) were kinked in the mutual drain and all he had to do was gently pull them out to straighten them. Problem fixed, total time he was there was less than 15 minutes and our total bill was less than $90. Pretty sure the plumber from RotoRooter was trying to take us for all he could because we were not on site. Or he was just lazy and didn't assess the situation before making stuff up. Could not be less satisfied with the experience-would NEVER call them again and would not recommend them to anyone, ever.

The cost was rather high for a two-hour work. Everything else was fine.

Went very seamless. Provided free estimate. Kinda expensive but worth it for the ease of experience. I am a landlord so good to find someone that does a complete job that you dont have call them out 2 to 3 times to get it right. Had another plumber to work on this water heater and wasnt good experience

Excellent service and great communication. Very pleased, especially given that this all occurred after hours on a weekend. Had two slow flushing toilets that I'd been unable to resolve and I feared the problem might be a clogged main line. On Friday night, I requested service via the website for Saturday morning within a two hour window. Within 15 minutes, I rec'd two emails, one acknowledging receipt of the service request, the next confirming the appointment. The next morning, 30 minutes into the scheduled window, I rec'd a call from a dispatcher confirming that a plumber was on his way and would arrive within 30-45 minutes. The plumber was courteous and professional, and after ruling out the bigger issues, he was able to diagnose the problem, which was merely two toilets that had become obstinately clogged independent of one another. At that point, he told me the price (which included a 20% discount for the second toilet) and, once I'd signed the authorization, he got to work. 45 minutes later, I had my bathrooms back again and he was taking my credit card info. The price was lower than I'd feared it might be, especially considering that this was for weekend service.

Our renters son tossed drink boxes and candy wrappers into toilet and flushed. To say the least disaster ensued. Roto-Rooter to the rescue. Their response was quick!

I called these guys the Friday after Thanksgiving, as I hadn't been able to get answers from a couple of others (likely due to the Holiday). The said they could have someone out by 7 PM that evening and that they would call 30 minutes before he arrived, which I thought was great. They called me back at 5:30 PM to reschedule me for the next morning (Saturday) between 8-12, which was also fine with me. I received a phone call around 11 AM on Saturday to tell me they were running behind, and another at 12:30 which stated the same thing; they said it would be another couple of hours. I thought this was courteous, and at this point I had only minor issues with their lack of timeliness. By 5:30 PM, I had not heard anything, so I called to reschedule and was offered a timeslot between 9 AM - 1 PM the following day (Sunday). I had not heard anything by 1 PM on Sunday, so I called to inquire when I could expect them, and was told 4 or 5 pm, and that they would call me ahead of time. I finally received a call around 7 PM, stating that she thought someone would be available at 8:30 or 9, and that they would call. At 10:30 PM, they finally showed up without calling. The technician gave me the price, and based on other work I've had done, it was considerably more expensive than other providers. I went ahead with it just because I wanted to get it done, but given their issues with timeliness and the higher price, I wouldn't use them again unless it was an absolute emergency.

I called on Friday to make an appointment to have a water heater replaced. I was told they would be there before 11:30am. I received an e-mail confirmation on the time. Then about noon I received a call they would not be there until 1pm. Around 2pm, no one had showed up so I called and they told me I was up next and the tech was finishing up a job. A few hours later still no call and no tech. I finally received a message they would not be coming out. I am very disappointed in the poor customer service and will not use this company again.

Not well. No services performed due to company's lack of responsiveness. Do not recommend.

Toilet was stopped up. I could not unstop it after trying to plunge it for over an hour. Called and they responded that afternoon. John was here about an hour and did a good job of opening the drain. He looked at other plumbing issues and gave me some advice on what to do.

Their service was great. I had no problems with it. It was a little more than I was expecting, but the service was worth it.

They have always been pretty good. I can’t complain. They always send someone who is reliable, friendly and helpful.

Extremely well - very happy. Came out during time promised - explained options up front. Tried less expensive option first for me. Problem was where the pvc met the old cast iron piping under the lower crawl space though, so the whole line had to be cleaned. Explained the situation before he did anything. Very clean and very professional.

We called Roto-Rooter this afternoon and Stan came out in no time. He knew exactly what the problem was and proceeded to remedy the situation. Stan worked quickly but went above & beyond to to helpful & friendly. He is truly an asset to your company. We are more than satisfied with Roto-Rooter as a company. We felt the price was fair, especially considering this was a Saturday afternoon call. Plus we had a $40 off coupon from Angie's list

Came home from vacation to find my water heater leaking. Called Roto Rooter because they said they would come out on the weekends at no extra cost. (It was a Sunday.) They gave me a window of between 10am - 12pm. The technician finally showed up at 1:30pm! He looked at the hot water heater and seemed really confused. Said it would need to be replaced. He said there was nothing he could do today because it was Sunday and the warehouse was closed.He said he would drain the water heater and disconnect the power and be back first thing the next day to take care of it.He asked if I had a hose. I was wondering why he couldn't just use his hose. He hooked up my hose, said it would take about 30 min to drain and then left.Shortly after I realized that my hose had a leak in it and now the hot water heater was draining into my house!I figured out how to make it stop draining only to find that not only did he disconnect the power to the hot water heater, he turned off power to half my kitchen - including my refrigerator!Fast forward to Monday morning. He was supposed to be by at 9am. At 10am, I gave up and called a different company. I finally got a call from him at 10:30 saying that the computers were down all morning and he couldn't do anything. I informed him that he was 1.5 hours late and to forget about it.VERY disappointed with the professionalism of this company. Think twice before calling them!!
