Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

My toilet was overflowing onto my kitchen floor due to tree roots growing into my pipes. Michael and Hal from Roto Rooter were very professional. They are very experienced and take pride in their work. They called when they said they'd call, they arrived when they said they would arrive, they went over and above to fix the issue as quickly as possibly. They even spoke to my Property Mgr to explain the situation and how they were going to fix it. They made an unpleasant experience bearable. I would definitely call Roto Rooter again and would request Michael and/or Hal.

They came out after a sewage line leak. They tried to clear a line but they found a much bigger problem than we had anticipated. They suggested an $11000 project that we didn't go with. I would probably use them in the future.

The dispatcher called promptly within the time frame they gave me when I initially called Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain Service. When arriving on site, the service provider (Butch) respected my notes posted on the door about not ringing doorbell (as not to disturb the sleeping baby) and was very professional when greeting me and entering the home. I really appreciated the booties he wore as we don't wear shoes in my house. Thank you!! Butch assessed the situation and took extra care and time to unclog the kitchen sink and check that both sides were clear. He even took the time to show me the two items that were clogging the sink (part of a wine cork and twist tie) - for my future reference - and did not throw them away before I got to inspect them. He then took extra time out to speak with other family members that were curious about future sink stoppages and explained the situation to them as well. I really appreciated this attention to detail he had with me as a customer. He offered me some suggestions for better food disposal care and how we would manage the clogs in the future with our specific plumbing pipes. I really appreciated this too! Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Butch and his service!

They did a good job. He was on time, he ran the fiber optic camera to see what was going on. They were able to cut the roots out. They also gave us future estimates. I was satisfied with them.

The serviceman was very professional -- was able to camera the problem. My only problem is why it costs $350 to clear a drain line which takes about an hour or less. The serviceman gave me a 6 month guarantee -- and recommended that I replace the clean out and repair the drain line at a cost of $1,200.00. I plan to get another estimate.

He stuck with it till he solved the problem.

There was a little confusion with the dispatchers, I called once and was told someone would be there in 2 hours. I got three calls back to confirm I still needed help(2 were messages) and then someone was here within that original 2 hour mark. He was very polite and professional. I found a coupon online to save 40 dollars and he honored that. He had to leave to go get parts and I was unsure if he would charge me for that time as well, but in the end he charged for 90 minutes of service at $185 per hour. Although all spent it was probably 2.5 hours between when he started and when we finished.

First, I want to say how that the young man who did the plumbing was punctual and on time. Second, the young man, Nate Walker, was very personable, friendly, and greeted us with a handshake and a smile, putting us at ease in a very tense situation (when your drain is backedup its not a fun experience). He went about his work quickly and got right to the root of the problem and explained to us everything he was doing. My wife was very impressed with him and his work ethic. Third, Nate explained that additional work, a drain pipe, should be installed in the future. I will be calling Roto-Rooter and ask for Nate Walker to do the install in the future. I cannot express how pleased we were with Nate Walker and the company he works for, Roto-Rooter. They said what time they would arrive and they arrived exactly as promised and the problem was taken care of. Thank you!

The toilet on the first floor of my home overflowed and drains in other parts of the house were slow. l suspected that the main drain was clogged. This was 5PM on a Friday evening. I called around to several companies to find someone who could come out immediately. When I called Roto-Rooter the customer service person I spoke to was friendly, professional and immediately dealt with my issue. She was able to contact a service technician and dispatch him to my house in less than an hour! When Stan the service technician arrived he was polite and professional and immediately got to work. He spent time to explain how he was going perform the service and what I would be charged. During the work Stan took time to show me what he was doing. After clearing the drain, he used a camera to inspect the pipe all the way to the manhole in the street in front of my house. I watched the entire process and he showed me exactly what had caused the problem...roots that had grown into the pipe. Then Stan explained how he could fix the problem and how much it would cost.to do so. He did not pressure me in any way and left the decision to proceed up to me. I trusted what he was telling me and told him to go ahead with the work. Stan carefully located the area where the problem was and dug down to the location. We found that when the house was built, the contractor never installed a cap on the exterior drain clean-out and roots and dirt had grown into the pipe. In the end it was relatively easy to fix. However, if I had not had the service performed exactly as Stan suggested, I never would have known about or solved the problem. I would absolutely recommend Roto Rooter. They have right equipment, professional employees and they are extremely prompt. I have total piece of mind and confidence that the problem has been fixed.

There were actually two appointments. Our drains backed up on a Sunday (9/29/13) and we needed someone to come out that day. We called Roto-Rooter and Cory Papworth came out in the afternoon. After a few hours with the snake, he found a problem with the pipe under the basement floor. He got the drain working, but further work needed to be done. The appointment was scheduled for the following Tuesday. On the appointment day, he went under the floor to get access to the problem pipe. He was able to repair/replace the pipe after a few hours work. He did a solid job and was pleasant guy. We are satisfied with the work so far. Overall, it went well.

great if you like waiting for hours with your plumbing not working

All of my drains backed up on a Sunday. Roto Rooter came out within a few hours of my call and was able to unclog the line outside within an hour. He had to break an unyielding cap but had a replacement on the truck.

Excellent job. They would stop and explain what they were doing, why and how they were going to fix it. Excellent job. Would highly recommend them. Came after hours so would not have to miss work.

We had some evidence that tree roots might have cracked our sewer line between our house and the street. I set up an appointment with Roto-Rooter to come to the house and run a camera down the line to check it for damage. The appointment was for a Thursday evening between 6 and 8 PM. At 7 PM, they called and said that they couldn't make it because their truck broke down. We rescheduled for Saturday morning between 8 AM and noon. At 10 AM, they called and said that they could not make it again. I don't recall the reason. Something along the lines of a scheduling conflict. I explained to them that this was the 2nd time they canceled this appointment, and I was upset. I told them that I would write up the incident in Angie's List. They said that they would have a manager call me about it. He did about twenty minutes later. He offered to have someone come out at 6 PM that same day and would do the work for free because of the two cancellations! I agreed. He did come, finally at 7:45 PM, almost two hours late. But he did do the job for free. And he advised me on another plumbing problem that I had in the house. He said he could work on that, but at a charge, which I felt was reasonable. However, I told him that I felt I could do the work myself, as I had had enough plumbing experience to handle it from that point. I had previously called other plumbers about doing the video sewer inspection. The minimum quote I was given was $250. So although there were definitely scheduling and punctuality issues, I got a whole lot of service out of this guy, and some good advice, all for free! In addition, he was very professional about his work, and was quite knowledgeable. He worked quickly, and left without making a mess. He was very accommodating to my requests. He took plenty of time explaining things to me.

I was having serious problems with water getting into my finished basement in several places during rainstorms. It would have been too expensive to dig up and reseal the foundation, and we suspected drainage problems: no doubt the pipes were clogged. The real trick was to figure out where all the pipes go, as the endpoints were buried under years of debris and soil erosion. Some pipes led from gutters, some from grates in the brick patio areas. I first called three other plumbers who all said they don't tackle such jobs. But it was no problem for Roto-Rooter. The sent a pair of true professionals (apparently in a master/apprentice situation) who said this calls for the "Jet Service". The quoted prices were $1595 for a full day, $995 for a half-day, and $700 for two hours. I said do whatever it takes. The Jet consists of high-pressure water shooting backwards from a hose that they feed into the end of the pipe. They use your own house water to refill their tanks as they go. Well, it couldn't have gone better. They somehow found and unearthed all the pipe ends and cleaned them out. The cleaned out the grates in the patio, one producing a huge pile of dirt. They jetted all the lines and tested the results. They even scoped them and told me where tree roots were starting to cause a problem. And even though I'm sure it took over two hours, I still got the two-hour price! Here it is a month and many rainstorms later, and not a single drop of water in the basement. I waited to write this review, in case it was too good to be true, but it wasn't! What an impressive job! Few things in life ever turn out this well. Bravo, Roto-Rooter!

Unfortunately, snaking out the drain didn't work and a more extensive procedure was necessary. Richard explained what was needed and how to accomplish that to both me and the homeowner who was out of town. The next morning after a trip to the supply house he arrived and started working on the project (replacing piping under the house) with the goal being, a useable kitchen sink. Several hours later the job was completed and the house was back to normal, no one would have guessed there had been a problem. Did I mention Richard was super neat, I love that. One other point, because this house was a recent purchase there was a home warranty policy in place, however we chose not to go that route because of previous dealings with an electrician recommended by the warranty company. Considering the problem involved, a completely clogged sink, this experience was as enjoyable as plumbing work can be. I definitely would recommend Mr Rooter of Alamance County to anyone who needs plumbing work done.

They were good. They are not over priced. He came on a Sunday.

I placed the call at around 9AM and a nice person over the phone assured me that a plumber would arrive at my place between 3PM and 5PM. I made sure to leave work early so that I could meet the plumber upon his arrival. 3PM came and no plumber in sight. I waited and waited some more and finally called at 4:30 to inquire about the plumber. I was transferred to the dispatcher who said plumbers were busy and no one was available to come to my address at the moment but they will get someone out shortly after 5PM. After an additional two hours and fifteen minutes of waiting (now 7:17 PM) they gave me a call and said their folks were busy. Not one apology was ever offered to me. I turned out several offers from other plumbers to come out today and I declined them all due too the fact that I had already engaged Roto-Rooter. I would never recommend these folks and encourage others to steer away from them.

They did a great job. They were very courteous and on time. I was very pleased with the work.

They came out and cleaned out the drain. We found that it was tree roots that were blocking it up. They cleaned it out and everything went fine. They also unclogged a toilet. They also cleaned out kitchen sink. They have always responded promptly. I was fully satisfied.

They did a great and fantastic job. The technician was very courteous and on time. He did a nice job diagnosing the problem. But this is something they do not handle.

They took care of something that was approximately a foot on our property. I felt the price was very reasonable for what they did.

Everything was fine. I am very pleased with them. I have them every 2-3 years.
