He fixed the toilet and gave bottle of draining chemical to clear the sink. The technician was very good.

The technician was fantastic. I will certainly use them again if a need arises, no questions asked.

DJ was courteous and arrived on time. He said that the air in pipes which kept water from flowing would be fixed if we replaced the kitchen faucet. We had not bought one in anticipation of that information. He said he could go and buy one for us but there would have to be a mark up. I showed him an example of what I wanted and he did go and purchase one. He returned, installed it and it corrected the problem. I was very happy that the spray nozzle even worked! I explained I wanted the water to 'bubble' and he put back the faucet head I'd had before. He gave me the bill and I was very surprised that the mark up consisted of doubling the price of the faucet (with tax it was $155 as opposed to the $74 price listed on the Home Depot website...which already was a retail price.) I should explain that I was home, not walking due to a total knee replacement and evidently a little 'out of it..' Otherwise, I'm sure that I would have asked how much the 'mark up' would be. I take full responsibility for not questioning it but I do think that DJ should have offered that it would be double. I paid without questioning since I didn't think anything could be done at that point. The next day, we noticed that there was a 'pop' when the faucet was turned on and I was impressed that within 1 hour from our calling to let the office know, DJ was at our door. He explained that the cause was my old faucet head so we took it off and it has been fine since. Looking back, I was pleased with everything but the cost of the faucet. We were never offered the possibility that we could go purchase one and he could return in the next day or two to replace it. In contrast, a few days later, an appliance repairman explained that the cost of the refrigerator part that we needed would be double if he did it as opposed to our going to buy one and switching it out ourselves. Quite a difference.

The plumber was very nice and listened to my previous problems with the drains when I use the washing machine. He listened to the noise and suggested that instead of snaking the drains out, which would be very expensive, that I purchase the Roto Rooter drain cleaner ($60.00). I did purchase the drain cleaner and have followed the directions in each weekly treatment, but I do still hear the gurgling noises when I use the washing machine, but the water has not backed up in the sink or tub, so I guess it's okay.

The service provide and the technician was professional. I was a bit shocked that the plumber had to go to the hardware store for standard parts and did not have these on his truck when he arrived. However, I believe the cost to perform the amount of work was very high for the level of effort. I would first look to other sources to determine if better pricing could be obtained.

John from Roto-Rooter was professional, on-time, and educated me on the process as he worked. I called at 3pm on a Saturday and I was able to get an appointment within two hours. Roto-Rooter did great work and they back it up with a 6 month guarantee. I highly recommend.

Took about 4 hours total to clear clog. Service technician was exceptionally proficient and courteous and worked very hard to clear clog. It took longer than planned because the main clean out connection could not be accessed and had to be cleared by removing toilet to access main line. This increased the cost by approximately $150 over the coupon credit purchased through Angie's List. Once I purchased the coupon, we received a scheduling call very quickly from the company and the technician arrived at the scheduled time. Pleased with the service and coupon purchase.

The service was fine and very good. They sent one plumber out to do the job. He got the job done in less than 30 minutes. The plumber was great and wonderful.

It worked out. They were able to get the clog cleared out. Their service was good and they came promptly. It was a lot more expensive than what we were expecting. They were very prompt. We still had to pay $300 in addition to the $250 coupon that we bought for the $79. It really surprised us. He had to buy one valve and that was it. He came in and looked at the stuff. He said that he had to go to the hardware store to buy the valve. We went to the hardware store and he was gone for half an hour to n hour. He was here for twenty minutes before he left. He came back and worked on it. I don't think it took him more than thirty minutes to clear the two toilets. He did snake the one upstairs and that was it. He said that the $250 applied for their labor. When he came out, he said that this is the charge that they charge for clearing the toilets. He told me that if he can't clear it by snaking it, he told me that he can replace it and it was going to be another $600. I'll just go to the hardware store and buy a toilet for a whole lot less. They did what they needed to do. The toilet is working now.

I could not be happier with the service provided. I was able to get an appointment the same day and the technician was wonderful. Not only did he arrive on time but he talked me through the entire procedure, explaining what needed to be done to correct the problem which he solved quickly. He even gave me tips on how to maintain the irrigation unit he had just fixed. I would definitely recommend Roto Rooter.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was good.

They were okay. They were about an hour late and they also weren’t going to do the services until they saw a paper copy of the coupon, even though they should have been told that I had purchased the coupon already.

Very professional and price was great. Happy with experience. We will definitely use them again.

Everything worked out fine. There was a few plumbing problems around the house – like cleaning out the drains. He did an excellent job.

Gary Wilkins was excellent. He first had to use the manual snake to see if this would address the clog. The clog was so bad he had to use the machine snake. He then verified the sink drained well before completing the job.

I arranged an appointment with Roto Rooter to have one of their plumber's sent to my house to do service between 12pm and 4pm on a Friday afternoon. I wanted the work done that day and set the afternoon aside for it. The plumber finally showed up at 4:35pm. This was my major source of displeasure with this service. The plumber who arrived was professional and courteous, and evaluated the situation with me to try to come to the best solution for me. The tub spout and shower fixture weren't going to be difficult but the sink stoppers were. He convinced me it might be best to wait until Saturday to get the work done as it might give me a chance to get the correct parts for the sinks. He also let me set my own time for Saturday and I asked him to be there at noon and he was right on time. Therefore, I think the failure to honor the original time set was an organizational problem, not one created by the individual plumber. He fixed the showerhead and the tub spout satisfactorily and in a superior way than I could have done myself. However, he could not get the generic parts to work in the sinks I had. In the end he correctly told me that I would need to get sink parts directly from the manufacturer and that generics would not work, he showed me how to repair them myself whenever I got my parts. I did get the parts from the manufacturer a couple weeks later and did complete the work myself thanks to his instruction. So I was very pleased with the plumber, but not so much with the company who could not honor an appointment in a 4 hour window. One thing I will mention that surprised me was that Roto Rooter normally charges $179/hour, therefore the $250 of service I bought was less than 90 minutes of service. I thought it would be a lot more. I am only thankful that my job got finished within that amount of time. The only reason I gave the price evaluation a B was because I had an Angie's Coupon that I paid for. If I had to pay full price I would feel much differently.

I saw the Big Deal for $79 for $250 of plumbing services and decided to call them for an estimate to repair our toilet, replace our kitchen faucet, and evaluate for additional leaks. When I called in the morning, I was told a technician could come out immediately. I suppose there was some confusion during that initial call because that was at 11:30 and a technician did not arrive until just before 2. I did not hear the doorbell ring and I was grateful that the office called my house phone to inform me that the technician was outside. Dean was our technician. He was courteous, but I noticed he did not put booty covers on his shoes. Usually I don't get overly concerned about this, but the weather has been very wet and muddy, so I would've preferred he use booties, especially to walk across a carpeted room. I showed him the faucet we purchased for the kitchen - he glanced at the sink and told me the "standard" price for a kitchen faucet replacement is $300. He asked me to show him the other work, as he can usually offer a "package price" if multiple jobs need to be done at the same residence. I showed him the toilet and he was able to quickly identify the issues causing the leak. He informed me that the regular price for the toilet repair would be $194 labor + parts, but he could offer it for $97 labor + parts if done in conjunction with the faucet replacement. I explained our concern that there could be another leak in the house and he said that a general leak evaluation would run $194, but that we could check the water meter and determine if that was necessary. He completed the toilet repair in 15-20 minutes and then walked outside with me to the water meter and showed me that the meter was not running, which should indicate that there is no leak in the house at this time (we will be able to confirm once we receive our next water bill). He offered to contact the main office to see if he could get me a better price on the faucet replacement, but informed me that I could not use the AL coupon in conjunction with a lower estimate from the company. He returned to the residence with a revised estimate of $220 for the faucet replacement and an invoice for $32 for the parts to repair the toilet. If we went ahead with the faucet, the new total would be $414 ($220 + $194) + parts, but I pointed out that he had previously quoted me $397 ($300 + $97) when he first arrived, so the $220 "offer" would actually cost me more. I had a kitchen faucet recently replaced at our rental property and paid $125 (another plumber), so I felt $300 was over-priced and warranted additional estimates (it's not an urgent need). I purchased the Big Deal for $79 to cover the labor for the toilet repair and then wrote a check for the $32.26 for parts, so the total came to just under $112, which I think is reasonable. One thing worth noting is that it seems most of their jobs are priced in increments of $194, so for a small job, the "value" of the Big Deal is really $79 for $194 worth of labor, not $250, but it's still a good deal. You are limited to only one of these deals per household, or I would have purchased a second one for the faucet because $130 is a much more reasonable price. Overall, we were happy with the service, but probably wouldn't call them first for another job because their prices seem quite high.

It was good. He came in and fixed the problem. He got the job done in less than an hour. They came as soon as they could. The plumber was very polite and professional.

The technician was friendly and polite. He immediately knew what the problem was and he had the part on hand to stop my leaking toilet. He had the part changed out in under 15 minutes. The only issue I had with this company was I didn't have a printed copy of the Angie's List deal and I called the 1-800 number to confirm with them that I could still use the deal (I had the evidence on my phone and I emailed a pdf copy of my receipt to the main office). They said it was fine but when the technician showed up he insisted I had to have a printout of the Angie's List deal. I spent the another 30 minutes on the phone between the main office and the regional office trying to work out whether or not I really could use the deal without a printed copy. Eventually they did decide that the pdf emailed copy was sufficient but it turned what could have been a 20 minute. stress-free situation into nearly an hour with most of that time spent with the technician standing over my shoulder while I waited on hold on the phone. I highly recommend always having a printed copy of the deal and normally I do have one but my printer ran out of ink and I didn't have time to get more which is why I called confirm it would be okay without the printed copy.

I purchased deal on 3/08/2014. Promptly received a call from company Maryland Office. I scheduled appointment for 1-3 PM on 10th. I received several calls call indicating technician was delayed. The last call at 6:45 PM indicated tech. would not arrive before 9:00PM I cancelled appointment and rescheduled following day. The call at 5:00 PM said he was finishing a job and would be on his way shortly. The work was completed on the 11th in a very professional manner. I am very pleased with the work. However, the work could have been completed without the additional $41.00 labor charge. After turning water off he disappeared for 15 minutes in truck. He also had a long telephone friendly conversation in Chinese with his telephone on speaker. When you are being charged $194.00 an hour, you deserved specific attention on the task.

I would definitely call Roto Rooter again for any plumbing needs.

I would never hire or recommend this company. We are having a new countertop installed in the bathroom tomorrow. I called to get an estimate to re-connect two faucets after it is done. When I called this morning, I mentioned the $79 for $250 labor deal. She said it was highly unlikely that it would be over that, but she wasn't sure. She said someone could come over for a free estimate. Not only was the estimate overpriced, he didn't look under the counter or anything, just came in and said he was told it was a kitchen sink and then gave an estimate for the bathroom. If we had gone with them it would have cost $279 to re-connect two faucets ($79 "special" and $180 for his $450 estimate). What a scam!

They contacted me quickly to schedule the appointment. It was a fast service call, and all plumbing issues were resolved.

They came out and gave a written estimate of $2500 to put in a tankless water heater. On the slip it says: "gas water heater tankless, work two men, labor, permit, inspection. 5-6 hours. We asked repeatedly that $2500 covers everything right and he said it includes the tank, labor, permit, inspection. So, EVERYTHING, YES HE SAID. We made the appointment and asked $2500, right and they said yes for everything. When they get out here, they say that it's only for labor and the tankless would be another $2000. We complained and no one cares. They are sticking to what the guy that showed up said and that's it. DO NOT USE THEM! ALL VETERANS ESPECIALLY DON'T USE THEM. MY HUSBAND IS A VETERAN.

It was very good. They got the job done in about an hour. The plumber was very nice, courteous, and did the job right away. I was very satisfied. The scheduling was very good.
