Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Gary Rose with Roto-Rooter came out to our home on New Year's Day. He was extremely helpful and courteous in quite a challenging situation. The float switch on our sewer pump had malfunctioned and the contents of the tank had started to overflow. He was calm, kind and worked diligently for nearly 3 hours to resolve the messy problem. We were most grateful for his knowledge, and professional approach to the situation. We've used Roto -Rooter on at least 3 other occasions over the last 12 years and have had very positive experiences. Thank you, Gary and Thank you, Roto-Rooter!

In the morning when I went into my powder room, I noticed that there was only a very little water in the bowl. I tried flushing and then realized the water was not going down in the bowl. Then I notice just a tiny bit of water on the floor . I flushed again while using a plunger and I had to success. Then, it looked like there was water leaking on the bottom rim of the toilet. Before anything more was to happen, I called Roto-Rooter. Gary Rose arrived within the time limit. He was courteous, unassuming, and went right to assessing the problem. He discussed with me what he thought needed to be done and gave me options and prices. I let him decide what he thought was best in this situation. He worked diligently and made sure everything was working well to my and his satisfaction before he left. I am very pleased! I will definitely use Roto-Rooter again for any of my plumbing needs.

1) Roto Rooter Service Provider called up on time hence Positive from this perspective. 2) Technician arrived on time on holiday (Christmas) hence Positive from this perspective as well. 3) Post checking the locations he told that it will still be charged extra on what I've paid. I have bought $79 deal for $250 hence I should not have paid anything however I have been charged from the total reducing $ 79 which I felt was incorrect. 4) Upper Bathroom was not done due to this negotiation I chose to get only toilet drain cleared.

Great, serviceman explained all the option and made best recommendation.

First experience with this contractor but multiple services with the RotoRooter company. This job went very well. The contractor told us about the Angie's List coupon which saved us some money.

Went well, he fixed it. The service man was very nice and did a good job plus he told us about a coupon on Angie's list. However, it was still very expensive. It was Saturday and we could not get anyone else out to help.

The water heater is on the first floor in the garage sitting on a 2 foot high platform in a corner. The old heater had a small leak and had served us for 12 years. I purchased a coupon on Angies list which was saving me about 50% on the cost for installing a water heater. I had already purchased the water heater and the expansion tank. At the end of the service I paid more than any other quote I had received in the past from other reputable pluming companies without any coupons applied. This was mostly because Roto-Rooter charged me excessively for accessories separately and that raised the cost. About the service, The first person that arrived had to make 2 trips to the local Lowes to get some parts. I would think that a reputable company with their company trucks would be well stocked with all parts and accessories. It took the person a whole day to install a water heater thanks to a few factors: 1. There was only 1 man sent for the job and installing a water heater is atleast a 2 man job. I had to help the person take down the old heater and put the new one in in its place. 2. The person installed a gate valve on the cold water supply line that was blocked. we came to realize this once the install was complete and the new heater wont take any water!! The Gate Valve was from an old job and was not new. Moreover, He did not inspect the part before installing. He had to redo the entire plumbing because of this issue. A few days later, a Roto-Rooter person came to inspect the work. There were absolutely no calls or appointments made for this house call. Regardless, I appreciate this effort from roto-rooter to send in a master plumber to verify all work was done as per code. Turns out a lot of the work was done wrong and there were some code violations. I am no pro, It all looked ok to me when the first person left. It took this Master plumber close to 2 hours to redo the entire plumbing. After he was done, comparing the work of both the roto-rooter plumbers the second one looked like it was done by a professional.

Outstanding! Discovered a water heater leak at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Scheduled Roto Rooter service on line and was promptly called to advised that it would be Sunday morning between 8 and 10 before they would be able to provide service. at 7:30 Sunday I was advised that I would be the first on the call list and Keith arrived shortly after 8:00. Great service - would highly recommend.

Everything went fine until they started working on my toilet. All of a sudden they tell me my main line was clogged, since when I do not know. Big coincidence I suppose. The price just kept going up & up. To replace a kitchen faucet ($325), fix a running toilet($99), and "unclog" a main line($420). After "discounts" and the $250 I got from Angieslist for $79, I ended up paying around $620! Keep in mind that I provided the new faucet & parts to fix the toilet (I had already purchased these from a home improvement store).

Called on a holiday weekend when our regular plumber was closed and we could not get the pilot light re-lit on our gas water heater. Initially was given a mid-morning window. Called back at noon and 2:30 and was told they'd let me know when someone was available. Plumber (John) arrived around 4pm. John was professional, friendly and very helpful. He checked the status of the water heater and gave me tips on how to keep the problem from reoccuring, then he reviewed how to light the pilot light. He also showed me where the water main switch is for the house and how to turn the water off if necessary. Definitely very helpful tutorial.

The service guy was very professional, prompt, and worked quickly. He did what he could to make the plumbing work as soon as possible on Thanksgiving when we had a house full of people. He recommended Angie's list even to help with the cost.

I was given an estimate for replace my toilets but due to cost, I decided not to perform major repair (replacing) and had couple of minor leaks repaired. I also had a kitchen sink faucet replaced. All is all good service but a bit pricey for major repairs.

Galen was punctual, efficient and friendly. Had our broken pipe replaced in less than 30 minutes.

The plumber was on time and very thorough. He was able to locate an additional clean out that other plumbers failed to locate by his diligence and determination. Eddie was extremely professional and provided information each step of the process. He even contacted a Restoration company to assist with the clean-up on the floors, tub and shower which were all contaminated due to the backflow.

Stan was fantastice. Professional, very clear and easy description of what was going on. Even spoke to our contractor on the phone so we could collectively determine the easiest solution. After he fixed our problem, then then drew out a diagram for us and our contractor so that we could explain to our existing plumber what was happening. Additionally he helped give great tips on how we could elevate the problem in the future. We can't say enough wonderful things about Stan's professional manner and obvious expertise skill set. Highly recommend.

The main drain for all the water in the house was stopped up. We had many people here for the Christmas holiday and discovered lots of water in the basement from the backed up drain. We have had problems with drainage before and the year before had called Roto Rooter on X Mas eve, 2013. We were very happy with the service person we worked with then, Eddie Garcia and when this problem happened again I requested him. He is smart, efficient, very knowledgeable, doesn't cut corners, a good communicator and has a great attitude. When we had a problem this year he wasn't immediately available so they sent another service person who apparently didn't have the right equipment for our situation. We ended up having to wait almost 6 hours until Eddie finished the job he was on but it was worth it. In spite of not getting here until after 8 PM he was through and clear and also informed us of a great price discount situation with Angies list that made a big difference in the cost. Pay $79 to Angie's List and get a $250 credit off on the final bill. The cost of the service was actually $334 but with the discount , our cost was $163. First Eddie confirmed where the partial blockage was in the main line going out the the street. He then used a snake to work through the block and get the water flowing. We ran water from the the garden hose through the drain for at least 5 minutes to be sure the problem was fixed. Then he used the camera showing the entire length of drain and seeing what caused the problem- not a broken pipe but there were 2 bent areas that create problems. I was glad to hear it was not roots and that with awareness and care we do not need major work done.

It was the day after Christmas, so they were very busy. But they did miss the 2 hour window by an hour and half. They called to said they would be late, but never did call to say when the new arrival time would be. Once they did get there, the tech was nice, thorough, and quick.

The technician named Keith was very nice and knowledgable. He was able to assess the problem and snake the clog within an hours time. He also suggested to me joining angie's list as a way to save money on this service that would have normally been over $300 (a lot more than other plumbers we looked at). However, because he knew about the deal offered on angie's list he suggested we buy it to save $125 and it worked. We are now members of angle's list and we were happy with our service. Had we not had the coupon however, I don't know if I would use them again based solely on the price. The clogged was fixed and we are now back to taking normal showers again! Thanks for the deal angle's list!

The Tech Eddie #1336 came to perform the service and things went smoothly. He was very professional and resourceful when it came to clearing our kitchen drain. He knew exactly how to address the issue upon walk in the door and it was cleared in no time. The only reason I gave quality a B is because it's only been a few days however I am sure there will be no more issues with the kitchen sink therefore consider it an A.

The city code requires that my backflow preventer be tested and certified every year. The man who came out to do this was very polite, professional, and best of all punctual! He gave me some tips to help protect my backflow preventer from freezing. Last year, my backflow preventer burst from the cold. I contacted Roto-Rooter to come and repair it. They ended up having to replace it. The same man who certified it this year was the same one to install the new one. Each time, the gentleman was polite and professional. He was open to my questions and had no problems answering allowing me to watch and learn what he was doing. The only drawback of either experience is the cost. For the certification test alone, it cost $150! I'm pretty much paying for the name on the side of the truck. For plumbing problems, I will probably still call them. However, for a certification test, especially an annual one, I will probably shop around and find something much cheaper.
